  1. Feel that City are just moving on to bigger and better things. Forwards and upwards.
  2. Maybe, but might be in a worse place too had the wrong appointment been made in a rush. You admit we have a weaker squad yet points and statistics are very close to the previous season so would it be fair to Holden to say that he's done better with the lesser resources he has available so far? It seems that's the case. I'm not saying he's the messiah or even that he'll be the right man for the job by the end of next season but I believe he's exceeded most people's (including mine) expectations so far and should have earned some respect from the fans. Decimated squad, minimal signing
  3. As a rugby fan this puzzles me too, makes far more sense than ambiguous body parts. Use the feet only. Also why isn't there a call from officials before review, eg; "On field decision is onside/goal okay, therefore there has to be clear and obvious offside/infringement on VAR review" or "On field decision is offside/goal disallowed, unless VAR shows onside/okay we continue play". VAR in principle is great, the implementation is half baked and needs revising plus encourage more fan interaction and clearer communication.
  4. Umbro have had a shocker https://twitter.com/BristolBears/status/1299247847666319361?s=20
  5. Sounded rubbish on the rugby as well. I watched all the matches on BT last weekend and the quality was significantly worse than any other match on BT. I think it's the audio setup we have at AG and IMO it's not up to the standard of the redeveloped ground so would like to see (hear!) it updated. Modern stadiums come with appropriate PA systems, perhaps we need to upgrade AG?
  6. Killing in the Name by Rage Against The Machine Not joking; Bristol Rugby used to run out to it some years back. Great song.
  7. What was their keeping thinking though? Ha.
  8. Yes and no, Lam got sacked from NZ Blues and ended up at Connaught (Irish strugglers) where he wasn't recognised as a truly great coach/DoR until he won the Pro12(now 14) with them against the odds and lesser financial backing vs other Irish regions. He's a hot property for sure and getting bigger all the time especially after what he's doing here with us but Lam wasn't the biggest name in the coaching world, those being the international ones and those with repeated title successes (which Lam is yet to do, I'm sure its just a matter of time however). Arguably his predecessor, Andy Robinson, w
  9. I believe SL was sincere in his claims on Talksport a month or so back. Im sure he has learnt a thing or two from Bears and wants similar for City. He isn't running day to day City though which is why there is a CEO, COO, etc. I'm sure he's fully aware of how he looks now which brings me to Ashton on Twentyman this evening. Ashton was very clear in that he never implied SL wanted this appointment, and instead repeatedly referred to keeping in contact with SL to notify him of their choices (did they talk SL into it?). Does this mean Ashton and the board have effectively aligned themselves
  10. Off topic but that's a huge shame, love Commodore, Ute and old Torana. Wish we had them here.
  11. I'd normally agree somewhat (fair shake and all that) but if mid table + possible challenging is the best we can hope for... That sits at odds with the sacking of LJ who was doing just that in a sustainable manner without danger of instability plus needless paying off, plus the publicly stated aim/goals of PL. Fans have every right to be concerned with this contradiction and failure to meet stated goals IMO.
