  1. Win both our games and we should qualify. Birmingham play Northants on Sunday. Big couple of days coming up when we were seemingly out of it
  2. What's happened to the seats at the river end at Glamorgan?
  3. Luton Town Football Club would like to clarify the situation with regards to the ‘return of fans’ pilot programme starting this weekend. On Tuesday at around midday, having received an email from the EFL asking for clubs to volunteer to take part, we put ourselves forward. We responded within the hour because, like many clubs, we are desperate to have our supporters back inside Kenilworth Road. To stage a game with supporters here would take a lot of preparation time, and unfortunately, despite asking again from very early this morning, we had heard nothing from the League until a few minutes before they issued their statement stating that we were one of the clubs taking part. Sadly, this does not give us enough time to get ready so we are unable to host spectators here for the Derby match. We understand that the EFL are beholden to DCMS, but to request clubs to offer and then not back up quickly, knowing there is such little time to prepare, is very disappointing and we are sorry to disappoint supporters who may have raised hopes of attending Saturday’s match. We remain committed to working with the EFL, DCMS, SGSA and local authority to getting our wonderful supporters back inside the Kenny as soon as is safely possible. 4. You need to understand how the virus needs to be counter acted.
  5. No wonder Glos fans are called Gastershire, same mentallity as the blue few supporters ?
  6. Up to 1,000 fans will be allowed to attend 10 different English Football League games this weekend as part of the government's crowd pilots. The news comes as discussions between the EFL and the government about a return for more supporters from 1 October continue. No fans have attended an EFL fixture since March because of the coronavirus. Three Championship games, four League One matches and three in League Two have been chosen for this weekend. The following games, all taking place on Saturday, have been chosen (all kick-off times 15:00 BST unless stated): Championship Luton Town v Derby County Middlesbrough v AFC Bournemouth Norwich City v Preston North End League One Blackpool v Swindon Town Charlton Athletic v Doncaster Rovers Hull City v Crewe Alexandra Shrewsbury Town v Northampton Town League Two Carlisle United v Southend United (13:00 BST) Forest Green Rovers v Bradford City Morecambe v Cambridge United
  7. I don't want to sound rude, but if you looked into what precautions etc were in place you would know the answer to the points you raised above
  8. Is that like being 5-a-side champions?
  9. Let's hope it's yhe every day supporters and not sold as some kind of sponsorship deal
  10. Tom Banton to miss Bob Willis final due to IPL commitments !!
  11. Can they use money from a different club? They are completely different businesses, just like saying we would use money from the football club for the Bears I wouldn't assume that just because the mens side are in the Premier League it has any impact on the ladies team. Could you honestly see any Premier League side giving up some of their budget to support their womens team? Never going to happen ! What is surprising is that we have been allowed to slip so alarmingly off the pace. It wasn't that long ago that we were in the Champions League last rounds facing the top sides in Europe. The side needs a serious and massive injection of finance, the scorelines are appalling and needs looking at PDQ
  12. Senior sport officials will meet the UK government this week to discuss the return of fans to venues. Last week, the government restricted pilot events to 1,000 spectators after a rise in coronavirus cases, and said plans for grounds to be up to a third full from 1 October would be reviewed. Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) Secretary of State Oliver Dowden will now meet with stakeholders. The Premier League has already written to the government over pilot plans. On Friday, the BBC revealed English football's top league was to inform the government that it would postpone plans for further pilots until the restriction was lifted, and reiterated its confidence that fans could be returned to stadiums safely. The Premier League says around £100m per month will be lost by clubs across the leagues while matches continue behind closed doors and it is one of a number of sports bodies to have voiced concerns at the financial impact of an extended period with empty venues. Nigel Huddleston, Minister for Sport, Tourism and Heritage has written to former sports minister Tracey Crouch MP to state that despite changes to Covid-19 restrictions, the UK government is hopeful fans can attend events under socially distanced conditions from 1 October. 'We wouldn't last the season' On Monday, the second pilot fixture in rugby union's Premiership took place as 1,000 spectators attended Gloucester's match with Harlequins. Meanwhile, reports in the Times on Tuesday claimed attendances could be restricted to between 1,000 and 2,500 from 1 October, depending on the coronavirus infection rate. Gloucester chief executive Lance Bradley told BBC Radio 4 that level of restriction would be "a disaster" if put in place for the remainder of the season. "We simply have to get fans back in reasonable numbers as soon as possible to ensure the game survives," said Bradley. "We can't keep going losing money with 1,000 or 2,000 fans. "In the end, that would be a disaster. There are clubs in a worse position than us but we would find it very difficult. "We wouldn't be able to make it through the season if we were only allowed crowds of 2,500." TAKEN FROM: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/54158891
  13. This is what happens when you don't rest and rotate your squad..... Northampton's injury crisis could turn Sunday's Heineken Champions Cup quarter-final against Exeter into a farce. Saints currently have only one fit loose-head prop in the form of 19-year-old rookie Emmanuel Iyogun. It means the prospect of uncontested scrums and playing with 14 men unless European Cup organisers allow them to sign another prop this week. Tournament regulations do not permit a new signing at this point. The club have been badly hit by injury in the front row since the season's restart, with Danny Hobbs-Awoyemi suffering a serious Achilles injury against Bristol last week, while Nick Auterac was also forced off in the same game. Francois van Wyk hobbled off against Leicester on Sunday, and the experienced Alex Waller is another injury casualty. Scotland prop Gordon Reid was signed by the club in March, but his deal expired at the end of June. Under tournament rules, the 16 clubs who have qualified for the quarter-finals in the Champions Cup and Challenge Cups were required to register their squads on or before 1 September. EPCR have reiterated that the regulations do not allow any further registration of players, leaving Northampton travelling to Sandy Park seriously light on resources. It is thought none of their tight-head props are able to play on the other side of the scrum, meaning Iyogun must stay on for the whole game otherwise Northampton will be unable to scrummage competitively. This would result in uncontested scrums with the Saints then forced to sacrifice a player. "This week we'll have some work to do to find a fit team to put out on to the field," director of rugby Chris Boyd said on Sunday. "In some positions we're getting down pretty thin." 14. Looking at the remaining games, going to be 4 from the top 5 that qualify, and it certainly looks favourable for Bristol. I can see Bath losing both games, especially against Saracens. Bristol will win both, Wasps will lost to Exeter. Second place will literally come down to who can get the most bonus points between Bristol and Wasps BATH Home to Gloucester - Tuesday 22nd September Away to Saracens - Sunday 4th October BRISTOL Home to Leicester - Wednesday 30th September Away to London Irish - Sunday 4th October EXETER Home to London Irish - Wednesday 30th September Away to Wasps - Sunday 4th October SALE Away to Northampton - Tuesday 29th September Home to Worcester - Sunday 4th October WASPS Away to Harlequins - Monday 28th September Home to Exeter - Sunday 4th October
  15. The report was uploaded Sunday. But what is poor is the date of the report is from before the game was played https://www.bcfc.co.uk/news/report-chelsea-women-9-0-bristol-city-women/
  16. Just seen the bowling figures, what happened with Tom Abell?
  17. You might want to educate yourself about how long it takes a player to physically recover after a game. It's physically impossible to get a top performance out of any player if they are playing back to back games
  18. Currently on BBC red button against Chelsea
  19. Belgian football fans are set to return to stadiums for top league matches, though numbers will be strictly limited with social distancing. It will be the fifth game of the new season for these clubs. The action starts tonight in Eupen, a town near the German border, with the local stadium welcoming up to 1,600 fans. Matches have been behind closed doors since the March lockdown. “Bring the passion back,” says a Flemish football website headline. On Sunday, more than 6,000 will be allowed into Anderlecht’s stadium - way below its maximum capacity of 22,000. Fans are urged to keep one metre apart, separated by empty seats, and they must wear masks all the time. Clubs hope gradually to increase the crowd numbers. Anderlecht CEO Karel Van Eetvelt says a closed-door match loses the club around €650,000 (£600,000). “This time, with about a third of our fans, we hope to limit the loss to €350,000 to €400,000.” Next week some German Bundesliga clubs will allow fans back into stadiums, with strict rules as in Belgium.
  20. Read that playing for 80 minutes for the forwards is like being in two car crashes for body impact. The players will need to rest otherwise physically they will fall apart
  21. As per the whole process all along, the testing of football staff has NO impact on the NHS and is completely separate
  22. Just announced that test events in the short term will be capped to 1,000 people Interesting as the racing today had 2,500, and tomorrow was going to be 6,000
