  1. EFL Statement: Leicester City On 22 March 2024 Leicester City Football Club announced they had commenced urgent legal proceedings against the EFL and the Premier League. This followed the Club’s referral to an independent Premier League Disciplinary Commission for an alleged breach of the Profitability and Sustainability Rules (P&S), ending in financial year 2022/23. The Club had also been placed under an EFL registration embargo, in accordance with Profitability & Sustainability Rule 2.10.1, after filing its 2023/24 P&S calculation. One element of the Club’s legal proceedings involved an application to a League arbitration panel under the EFL Regulations in which it accused the EFL, amongst other things, of acting ‘unlawfully by conspiring with the Premier League to use unlawful means and to procure or induce a breach of contract by the Premier League’ in relation to its proceedings against the Club. The Club made an application for an interim injunction to prevent the EFL from imposing a sporting sanction in the current 2023/24 season. Leicester City sent no letter before action and issued the proceedings without notice. The core issue in question was whether the EFL has the ability under its Regulations to apply a points deduction in its competition if ordered by a Premier League Disciplinary Commission. Having taken legal advice, the EFL has confirmed to all parties that whilst it would want to respect any decision of a Premier League Disciplinary commission (and vice versa) to deduct points in the EFL, it does not have the power under the Regulations as currently drafted. On the basis of that confirmation, the League Arbitration Panel held that the Club’s application for an interim injunction was neither necessary nor appropriate. The League Arbitration Panel dismissed the Club’s application accordingly. It remains a matter for Leicester City to comply with the P&S rules in all circumstances. In accordance with the League’s established processes, the EFL will continue to apply the P&S rules to ensure all Clubs meet their financial obligations so the competition can continue to operate in a fair and consistent manner.
  2. Some crazy amounts spent by clubs Chelsea stand out for recruiting such rubbish
  3. I wonder if many clubs come to AG8 and see a really nice ground and set up and raise their game because of it?
  4. I hate to admit this, but what difference does using this ball make?
  5. Very true, and I am sure the vast majority of EFL clubs will be feeling just like you have written above Sadly I guess the £2.5m makes owners happier than seeing the money taken in with bigger crowds As for POTD pricing, that has been raised with the club. . . . . I agree, I am sure someone can answer this but I wouldn't imagine that we had that many 3pm Saturday kick offs this season anyway The only thing, this is not unique to us or even within any control of our club, this is all down to the EFL / Sky TV We both know that it is a long time since those that count the pennies gave a shit about supporters
  6. I know that is the case for shirts, but assume as I had bought a picture frame and a gym bag they were made elsewhere Oh well, I have a problem ahead Thank you for all the replies above btw
  7. 6 wickets lost for 15 runs
  8. After being in such control, Surrey take for 3/3 runs
  9. If we get a Monday, we then move to the following Thursday, if we get a Thursday we then go to the following Sunday etc When moved we're more likely to be shown Then flip into one of out opponents being in the above cycle we automatically get moved even though we may not have been originally shown on TV Thankfully when the fixtures are released in June we will get all fixtures up to FA Cup round 3 weekend in January
  10. I'm sure they will be as cheerful after the game if they go down Would be great to see the Blues first, but sJoke would be the icing on the cake
  11. A little bit I can add, the club are still waiting for confirmation on how the new kick off days and times will impact us, but we are set to get an additional £2.5m from the deal - which clearly makes up for lost attendances But the assumption is a side will be live at least 20 times over the season
  12. Same here, great to see the same style threads are still popping up so frequently
  13. I was wondering if anyone had used this service recently? I bought two items as a gift (picture frame and gym bag) yesterday lunchtime, I was going to get them posted to me but paying £5.67 P&P compared to collecting for free seemed a no brainer - especially with a discount voucher the total bill for the items for was only £11.40 What I didn't expect was the time I may have to wait to collect my items I note on my receipt email that I have to await a second email from the club confirming my items are ready to collect The stumbling block, not living local to the ground and tomorrow being the last game I can get to this season. I would like to assume as the items were showing as in stock this means that they are actually in the shop and just needs someone to take them off a shelf and put aside for me? But I was wondering if anyone had any experience of how long this process will take as if not ready by tomorrow it will create a needless problem
  14. The season seems to end earlier and earlier in non league, no idea why they don't schedule at least into the first weekend in May Obviously lots of FA Cup etc matches at the start of the season, but surely make the most of the better weather at the start of the season and get a couple of extra midweek fixtures in to lesser the pressure I hate to say it but stopping FA Cup replays from the start would help
  15. How does the rugby have anything to do with Jon? Agree it was terrible there was no pre-announcement or fan consultation - couldn't believe this when I heard about it a few weeks ago
  16. There are monthly meetings which are online and anyone can dial in and attend When there are wheels in motion the fan base will be made aware straight away
  17. Sky are saying they are increasing to 44 live games next season
  18. She never recovered from the stick she got against City
  19. Apologies for repeating myself, but the SC&T have put a paper together and are in the early days of dialogue with the football club about how to improve the matchday experience and improve the atmosphere Whilst still in the early days the club have met with us on three occasions already and the SC&T are working with the club to see what can be done "easily" and what will "take more time" Supporters WILL be consulted before anything major changes and if there is enough interest anything is in theory possible
  20. That's a glitch as that section should only show fixtures We are a pretty decent bunch on here that I am sure would support his cause, I have created a new thread with the original details and added some more
  21. The below was posted somehow in our fixture list section on here by @SCDave and will be missed by many I'm sure many of us will get behind this fantastic effort to raise money for such an amazing charity Rovers fan in peace In aid of the Wallace & Gromit Grand Appeal in aid of Bristol Children's Hospital, I am taking the Wrong Trousers event one step further and wearing a City shirt at work and to the Rovers game v Cambridge on Tuesday 16 April. Hopefully this great cause can transcend football rivalry. Any donations will greatly be received to the just giving site: David Hewett is fundraising for Wallace & Gromit's Grand Appeal (justgiving.com) Many thanks Story As a mad keen Bristol Rovers fan, I am pledging to wear a City shirt (yuck!) at work and a Rovers game on Tuesday 16 April. I am preparing to suffer for a day, but nothing compared to what some of the brave children and families have to face. Hopefully the supporters of Bristol's two clubs, whether a Pirate or a red, can join together, to donate some pieces of eight and raise a large bounty to help staff, patients and their families on behalf of the Wallace and Gromit Grand Appeal. I'm just taking The Wrong Trousers Day, one step further and wearing the Wrong Shirt! The Grand Appeal puts Bristol Children's Hospital at the heart of everything they do by providing: Family accommodation: they run three accommodation houses that provide a safe and supportive place for families to stay while their child is in hospital. Medical research: they invest in medical research programmes to ensure the hospital remains a hub of innovation, where everyday experts pave the way for sick children through a network of projects with international impact. Equipment: they fund state-of-the-art equipment to save lives. Music, play and art therapy: their music, play and arts programme can be seen in every ward at Bristol Children's Hospital, helping young children to deal with the stresses and fears they may face during treatment. Art enhancements: they work to make sure Bristol Children's Hospital provides a fun, stimulating and comforting space for the brave children it cares for.
  22. An independent Disciplinary Commission (IDC) has determined that Sheffield United Football Club are to be deducted two points at the start of the next season the Club is in the EFL’s jurisdiction, with a further two points suspended until the end of that same season. The sanction relates to the 2022/23 season, when the Club defaulted on a number of payments to other Clubs. These defaults cumulatively were in excess of 550 days. The suspended points deduction will be activated if the Club defaults on any payment due to another Club under a transfer or compensation agreement for more than five business days from the due date for payment. The Club has agreed to pay the EFL’s costs in the sum of £310,455. The IDC’s Decision and written reasons are available to view on EFL.com.
