  1. I would support some sort of rule around players abusing the ref. I like the idea of playing a 60min game but using a stop clock to remove time wasting, too.
  2. Number 1 is a nice idea in theory. If we want more goals in the game a heavier punishment for tactical fouls seems one way you might do it. All that would happen, however, is you'd get referees making inconsistent decisions on what is and isn't a tactical foul causing fans and clubs a headache!
  3. Hi all. This is me. Been a tough few days on here, some of you have been proper horrid.
  4. Also, fed up of having a young, up and coming manager with new ideas who's performing poorly and our fan base calling for 'an experienced manager'. Then having 'an experienced manager' performing poorly and our fan base calling for a young up and coming manager with new ideas.
  5. After sitting on it for an hour I'm of the opinion that we were poor today, are probably underperforming a bit generally and Nige could be doing slightly better. However, unless we are in the bottom 3 and looking almost lifeless I'd stick with it. Why? Because I think a lot of the issues aren't NP's fault, they're Lansdown's/ predecessor's. NP is aware of those issues and trust he will tell the board some harsh truth's while having the experience to manage the personnel in the squad during a period of transition. We need to be patient and recognise we're still in that period where we're having to manage poor financial decisions so a change won't come instantly. Although today was bad it was still better than what Nige was presented with when he took over. Managing that while cutting costs means I still have faith he will leave us in a better position than when he took over.
  6. I'm in the keep camp. Could be worse, did anyone just listen to Barton on radio Bris? Vomit inducing.
  7. Greatest player of all time wins the trophy that's alluded him all these years to secure his status and legacy as the best to ever do it - I'm not surprised by the fuss! So happy for him, it was great to see.
  8. For anyone who enjoyed robot wars back in the day... https://twitter.com/JamRo/status/1601361076670824448?t=5-f7Kd9NE1P_VC32iyl_Xw&s=19
  9. A reminder from the Netherlands sometimes it's as simple as putting the pressure on with aerially dominant players.
  10. Leaving your best penalty taker for the 5th penalty in that circumstance is bizarre. At the best of times I think put your best penalty takers first but even more so when momentum has just gone against you. I still think momentum in football is underappreciated. If you can make the changes to swing it in your favour it can have a massive impact. Hats off to Croatia, they've exceeded expectations in the last two world cups. Modric definitely one of the best I've seen in the flesh.
  11. Real shame. Must be tough on him mentally as well as physically. Hope we're giving him suitable support
  12. Sounness is going to combust if he doesn't see this soon
  13. Can't wait for the 'Pearson out, Hajime Moriyasu in' shouts on the forum over the next few weeks?
  14. Wow. What a fantastic day's football Belgium and Germany out in the groups... doubt anyone would've called it. Hats off to Japan, beating Spain and Germany to go through is a hell of a way to do it!!
  15. Not sure what to make of this one. See where you're coming from but the argument for France is why should they burn out their better players for the benefit of others? They've done their job which is why they're in the privileged position of being able to do it. If England went out because England's strongest team lost against the strongest team of team X, but team X rested their best players and lost against team Y I wouldn't begrudge team X rather I'd be gutted England weren't good enough.
  16. Belgium have had a shocker of a tournament. Canada were much the better side in their first game and Morocco deserved the win today. Argentina have served up a couple poor performances but at least they had flashes of quality from Messi and Fernandez yesterday. The same can't be said from Belgium and their stars.
  17. Weird Japan didn't play their strongest team. Giving themselves the best chance of having 6 points on the board before their game vs Spain would make sense to me
  18. Bit of a snore draw that, hard to follow the Argentina game earlier though
  19. Really enjoyed both games today, good to see the underdogs get something in both games. Good to see the ref stick with his decision after going to view the incident again too
  20. Congrats to the Morrell family! Get stuck in Joe!
  21. looks like you're staying on one of the cruise ships in the port? How have you found it early on?
  22. Would be no surprise if those booing him will be the first to get upset when a Joe Bryan, Bobby Reid, Lloyd Kelly or Alex Scott decide to move on to bigger and better things.
