To quote Wert Ham fans about Rice (yes I know where that went!):

“One more year, one more year Nigel Pearson!

One more year, one more year, we say!

One more year, one more year Nigel Pearson!

    Playing football the City way!”

Two more years, three more years etc.

    ?

Would be a great statement and show of support if we could do something like this during a game. As it is he doesn’t even have a song

I said at the time to @Spudgun, who I stood with on the East End for many years, that should we ever play the gas, I fear our support would be pretty dire if that’s the loudest song we’ve got.

Near the top of a long list of reasons why I hope we never play them again… the Gas at modern AG, no thanks

Yes strange. I sit in E28 dolman up by section 82. I could hear Argyle fansoud and clear and also section 82as right next to it. Never heard  Dolman A block all night. Although I believe it was quite loud from people sitting there. Acoustics of stadium are just not great.

I suppose, ultimately, that means there will be issues arising from whatever placement we go for. So we’ve all just got to get behind the team as much as we can from our various pockets. It’s (probably) as simple as that.

Last season it started to fall apart when injuries started piling up, this season it seems to be in spite of a fair number of injuries and we hopefully have players returning in the coming weeks. Imagine what our options will look like with Atkinson, Weimann and Conway back :)

I think the defining factor for me is we look another year wiser, both in personnel and set up. When those players are back there will be other injuries, you’d think, so we can’t imagine we’ll have ever really have a fully fit squad to pick from.

Sounds odd - and maybe not relevant to this squad - but honestly, a fully fit squad with a plethora of options often seems to cause more issues than it solves here. We’ve got a great rhythm right now.

  5. Unchanged line up was a great call. Paid off to start full strength and make the tweaks early rather than going with a slightly weakened starting eleven. Cornick down the middle and off the bench looks like exactly the type of thing people were saying we needed to go and sign on loan. Also quite liked TGH not just walking back into RB, would have been a direct message to Tanner that he is now nothing but back up. TGH looked good as an option in midfield too, a suitable enough replacement for Knight when he tires or should he succumb to injury.

We’ve had good starts to both of Nige’a full seasons so I’m not getting carried away yet, but promising signs. A balanced side with pace, skill, reasonable toughness and with a cleverness to it. Game management tonight was excellent.

Half time thoughts….. feels like the next goal will be critical. Both sides are sloppy and full of poor decisions / mistakes. The difference, so far, is that Plymouth have made more costly errors than us - even though we are trying hard to match them!

As per my earlier post this game has an odd feel to it for me.

Hope I’m flapping unnecessarily but if they make it 3-2 it could get very nervy.  Obviously much prefer for us to get the next goal and go on to really impose ourselves.

I’m usually a massive flapper but I think we are in a great position. We will have space to score more as they come at us. We’ve got options tonight too. It would be a little concerning not to win it from here.

I agree with some of the above, in fairness.

But what I’m saying (maybe poorly) is that just because someone is posting negatively, doesn’t mean they have an agenda…either.

FWIW my views are positioned on things like this with “I reckon” or ended with “speculation on my part”, because they are drawn from things heard, read, as well as gut feel too.  I’m pretty selective on who I listen to and I don’t believe there is no smoke without fire.

I don’t think SL would jeopardise the club either, which is a big part behind my resistance to the “be careful what you wish for” type posts.

But I do think that every time I hear him, he’s grates more and more.

I am intrigued how a CEO can go from Nige is a legend / royalty to not giving any credit whatsoever, and then commend him and Tins in his leaving statement. FWIW (again) I wasn’t one of the ones slagging PA off after his interview a fortnight ago.  I do think SL (and JL) have had their noses put out of joint by some of Nige’s comments.  Don’t you?

Its always good debating with people who are prepared to explain why they might have a different view or why my view might be seen one way or the other.

They could have, of course. And let me be clear, the communication policy from the club at the moment is an absolute breeding ground for speculation. I blame no one for doing so. I just think very often the truth is a lot tamer or lamer than we like to imagine. If anything, theorising that the Lansdowns are playing some kind of semi-evil chess is probably giving them too much credit. I think most of the time they are just a bit crap. But there’s a whole host of reasons why that doesn’t necessarily mean I want them gone.
