  1. If and when I do renew, I'm going to leave it to the last minute... That'll teach them to mess with my head!
  2. Well, I'll probably renew, as I have the last 20-odd years, but... I'm as royally cheesed off as I ever have been this season; and to cap off a really disappointing season, that looked interesting, and has been turned to ratshit by senior management, my 13yo son has started coming to matches this year, and I couldn't buy him a season ticket in the South Stand if I wanted too! Might just not bother.. I'm feelling really apathetic, such a damn shame.
  3. Fair enough, that was just the rumour. Point probably still stands about something like that being his point though. Smoke and mirrors and all that.
  4. I bet he was just talking about our "top earner" (Matty James?) A reputed 27+k a week would put us in that category I'm sure for one player. Just more manipulation of the truth. Twisting it to suit.
  5. As always, I agree with the vast majority of what you say Dave. But...I think with the previous guys you quoted, for varying reasons, most fans, at the time felt these decisions were on balance, at least valid, at the time. I don't always think the appointments have been right in the past, but generally still had a positive feeling about them as it was a "fresh start", new broom and all that. This time because NP's tenure has ended prematurely - he was absolutely set up to fail his employers vision of success (promotion!? none the less) and we all think we know why. It's difficult to get excited, nothing to do with the new HC, just that he will be one disagreement with SL away from funds being withdrawn, and silence from the club again. That, I'm afraid is just a feeling I haven't really felt before when were recruting. Oh, I am quite happy to try a new approach by the way, so its not just a better the devil thing, I could even see some of the ideas Benny L had were very interesting! (Yes, I've been a season "ticket" holder that long! ) I hope by Saturday I'll have a bit more of a feel good vibe, but I'll still join in with any NP and critical SL chants!
  6. To be fair to Eustace, he wouldn't be the worst appointment the club have made. It's just so underwhelming, isn't it? I think we all know what's happened. Our club got in the sh1t financially due to Covid (and our risky transfer policy). We got Nige on board to straighten us out. SL tolerated NP, even though NP is not his "type," a means to an end if you like. Don't get me wrong, I was not convinced for a while, and like most, I was struggling with supporting the manager at the tail end of 2022. BUT, I think we can all see Nige turned it around somewhat. Perfect football? nope. Promotion chasers? Nope. Frustrating performances at times? Yes! But I'm sure the majority of us agree that Nige deserved to see the project out. He'd earnt that after following the brief and the budget after all. And I did grow to like the guy, seems to have decent principles. Now, it's seems clear, maybe I'm wrong, but we now want a "head coach" (not someone telling the Lansdowns how to run a "business"), rather than a manager. BT is the new mouthpiece of SL, the intermediate that will translate SL's idea of a football club to the real world. Hell, BT was even well respected by the fans! Most of us have been calling for a DOF for years, so there is no real problem with that. Just not like this... Whoever gets the head coach's job will get most fans' support for the honeymoon period, after all it's not their fault, out of work managers (sorry head coaches!) Take the work where it is. It's just gonna take a while to get the bitter taste out of my mouth from "our" football club. Makes it hard to get excited about any appointment, no?
  7. You really don't appear to understand as much about football as you think. Some (most?) of your posts are just so negative. It's a team game. Yes, it would be great to see NW net some goals, his play deserves it, but he brings so much more to the table! Your world appears very black and white. Shame.
  8. Fair play to you Dave for being able to decipher it. ?
  9. I think, something that has been overlooked when Harry was signed is, that (and I'm pretty sure I didn't dream this!) NP said that (me paraphrasing) we look for value in players - we try to see things other teams have missed about players, and to coach them to be able to do a "different" role than they may be used to. This means we can hopefully afford to have a player playing in a posistion we may not be able to afford, at the time, otherwise (sorry, hope that makes sense). I therefore believe Harry has been bought to play a different role than he was at LTFC, this would have worked better if, as intended, he was bought in the summer, and behind closed doors, and friendlies, coached to his new role. I agree he is struggling, and is not the player we want him to be at present...but he's not as bad as some are portraying. He's just learning "on the job" so-to speak, getting invaluble minutes with the team. Please bear this in mind when judging him. He may indeed turn out not to be what we need, but he's obviously giving his best out there, and that's all we can ask, surely? If it doesn't work out, he'll move on...thats the nature of his chosen profession, but he's doing all this infront of 20k crowds most weeks. I don't bloody envy him (even on his wage, I couldn't do it), and fair play to him for taking up the challenge. Best of luck Harry!
  10. Haha, its what passes for humour around here Iain! Welcome aboard mate.
  11. Well, some people have fixed views that's for sure. I wonder what made your mother think of that when adrressing you? I wonder.......
  12. Yeh, we got the "you like to be entertained bit" you've rammed it down our throats for long enough. You think we all don't too? Time has just muddied your mind, as good as some of the games were under Wilson, just as many, if not more were frusterating and disappointing. His last season here was absolute horsecrap as I recall. Gary Johnson served us up some good stuff, some horsecrap too; but at least there was some success to his tenure, unlike DW. Something your too blind to see. Your blinkered, and keep spouting the same old stuff, no more relevant now than it was after the first 50 times Robbored. A lot of us watched those eras too, and have our own oppinions, we just don't feel the need to insist our opinion is the only valid one. Tedious, very tedious.
  13. Certainly hope your right about NP, we do appear to be heading in the right direction, recrutment wise. More than happy to have him here and let him run with it. Euell seems another good appointment - from what is being said. Not sure why you think NP will supply you with the scintillating football your craving though; always seemed to me his teams are effective, well drilled and hard working rather than flamboyant like the early Wilson teams were. I'd be delighted to be proven wrong though. Your just spouting your usual self indulgent nonsense as far as I can see. Your a strange poster, thats for sure! Shame really, there are times when you do actually talk some sense. ?
  14. Better to remain silent and be thought a *fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt. *Fool really, really doesn't do you justice RR.
