  1. Either that or UEFA would change the FFP rules to suit them…
  2. Weimann definitely a loan https://www.bcfc.co.uk/city-men-news/weimann-heads-to-hawthorns-on-loan/
  3. I think we are miles ahead of where we were when SL took over - on and off the pitch. I accept that mistakes have been made, but SL has always backed these up with his cash - something that other Chairmen seem unwilling to do. Similarly, I understand his age, and his apparent step back from all things BCFC in recent years, so now might be a good time to sell up. If he does, I trust him to sell to a party that is in the best long term interest for the club (not just the biggest nest egg for him, despite what others think). When he does choose to move on, I think he will be remembered as one of the best owners we have had in our history. JL is a waste of space though and the sooner he has nothing to do with the club the better.
  4. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-berkshire-67905475 Rail disruption between Reading and Paddington Major disruption is expected to last all day on trains between London Paddington, Heathrow Airport and Reading. National Rail said problems had been caused by damage to the overhead electric wires on the route. Great Western Railway (GWR) confirmed no trains were currently operating between London Paddington and Reading.
  5. I have complete confidence in our Board, that we have a promotion quality squad and that our new manager will get us promoted this season.
  6. They’ll be saying the same thing next year as well.
  7. I’ve got to say that I’m really missing reading Joey’s rants on a Sunday afternoon. Can’t believe he’s gone. Gutted.
  8. Depends if JL shows his face on the big screen!
  9. And we’re not a basket case?
  10. Thanks for sharing. A really insightful and well written article. Most unlike the Post.
  11. Unbelievable decision. I cannot find any reasoning behind it. Surely the club would have been a lot more investable with a world class manager on board. Therefore, it doesn’t even align with the nest egg conspiracy theories. There simply has to be more to this that we know, because it makes absolutely no sense based on the facts that we know.
  12. It clearly depends on how many ££££s he’s asking for (or demanding if you want to put a different spin on it).
  13. Just seen that they have now resubmitted the planning permission for the new stand they’ve virtually built already. The consultation closes 27 Oct, so get your comments in. The expected determination date is 5 January 2024 (assuming it doesn’t get called in again). Ouch. https://pa.bristol.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=summary&keyVal=S1YCEEDNHVV00
  14. I love the fact that the OS is telling us which VPN we can use! https://www.bcfc.co.uk/city-men-news/leeds-on-robins-tv-in-selected-overseas-countries/
  15. We only have a limited number of supporters that look to proactively create an atmosphere. Where they sit/stand is largely irrelevant. If/when more fans get on their feet at start singing, the atmosphere can be electric - regardless where they are stood.
  16. Just seen that the Gash’s plans for a new stadium in the FM have collapsed. On the bright side, I understand that there is an old rugby stadium going cheap in Worcester. Perhaps they could eff off up there.
  17. I must admit that I don’t find these statements contradictory at all. SL said “What football makes, football can spend.” The problem is that football hasn’t made any money in decades. He didn’t say that football can spend all the income it receives and can ignore any expenses. Indeed, he specifically said “But it’s got to make it and obviously going back to Covid, football couldn’t make anything.” My take on SL is that we have no right to insist that he spends tens of millions of pounds each year on the club, regardless of how many millions he has or because he owns the club. The only thing we can insist on is that he does not prevent anyone else who does wish to invest in the club from doing so. From my perspective is doesn’t appear to have done that (in fact he’s actively encouraging it). On this basis we could end up in a much worse position should he be encouraged to simply walk any. A little look at our neigbours illustrates that nicely.
  18. Surely an agent works on behalf of his client (ie the player). However, as been pointed out several times on GasChat, the player was absolutely desperate to sign up for the gas. Therefore its difficult to see why the agent would deliberately ruin the deal. I’m sure somebody on GasChat will be able to explain this to the other inbreds.
  19. Hi Sarum, It worked OK for me yesterday.
  20. …but I thought that planning permission was a formality because the new stand was simply replacing the old stand and wasn’t significantly bigger and was only putting the Mem’s capacity back to what it was previously?
  21. 15 days until their first home game. If I had bought a season ticket for that nice shiny new stand, I wouldn’t be worried at all!
  22. Agreed, I’ve been to Millwall a couple of times over the last few years. The walkway was for away supporters only, but once you get to the station there was no segregation at all, which surprised me considering how crowded the platform was. There were no problems there whatsoever though.
  23. I heard that the BBC have received and are considering a request made to DIY SOS.
  24. If we were to replicate, it would mean increasing the cost of tickets to away fans visiting Ashton Gate, meaning they are out of pocket as well. I accept this wouldn’t affect our fans initially but I can’t seen this resulting in the board of LUFC thinking that they’d better reduce the cost of tickets for away fans visiting Elland Road next year. In fact, I think it’s more likely that they would see this as an endorsement of their approach and increase tickets prices again next season. IMHO, I think other forms of protest would be more effective.
