(Assuming Nigel can spend it and wants to).

yes but you can still be disappointed…doesn't matter how many times it happens, if you expected it all along…
Doesn't matter how much you prepare yourself for it to happen…

Nigel person said in a pre-match press conference that Alex Scott was injured, then we find whilst the game was being played last night he is a Bournemouth having a medical,as stated by SSN , was he lying to the fans,
Possibly/probably. Does it matter?
He will not come out and announce details of this nature to fans before the club are ready to but has to manage questions from the media before official responses can be given.

I have got nothing to say, really, apart from that the club has given him permission,” Pearson said. “Outside of that I’ve got no comment. I couldn’t give you the details… I knew (about the bid) today. And that’s it, I’m not saying anymore.”
When pushed further, he added: “I’d been planning to keep him. It’s nothing to do with me. It’s a club decision. I’m disappointed because we’ve got a better chance of being successful if we keep our best players so that’s where I sit on it.”
Understansably disapointed but surely his footballing experience knows this happens a lot and to prepare for things like this. I'm sure that he and the team have various scenarios for planning a replacement.

Whilst it's sad to see him leave, I think we're realistic to accept his was inevitable given the media noise and how well he's done. Fair play to him and Bournemouth - they'll have a fantastic player.
Had he not gone this window, then the clock starts ticking and we risk the value we could've got starting to reduce - other clubs know this as well (yes he could improve with us this season and value increase -maybe - but he could also get a season ending injury - there are so many variables to consider). There's no guarantee he'd have signed a new contract either plus if we block this move, we risk an unhappy player (and potentially Agent, which is far worse!!!!). Clubs will know that as well and potentially low ball us in future.
We aren't a tin pot club for letting him leave (for the right money or the best we could get). We have to think of the future (financially).
The reality is whilst we're in a lower Division, we do risk teams above us cherry picking our best players. We do the same to teams below us. And whilst there is crazy money in the PL it makes it easier for teams abouve us to attract players to move.
Best wishes for the future Alex.

Would prefer it was Bristol City in the Prem chasing players to sign like AS, not Bournemouth. This is a risky move for AS in my opinion. Chances are he will be back in the Championship next season playing against Brizzle City
Why? If he plays well in the PL in a struggling team (assuming they struggle), another PL team could come in for him and he uses Bournemouth as a stepping stone in his career - whilst learning his trade and getting better money.

Was it his hamstring he tore in January? Could be a re-tear if so. I do still think he was carrying something on Saturday for Wells to start ahead of him personally.
Wells to start ahead of him or Cornick?

I wonder when this happend in training? Before or after Saturday?
If before the game, i wonder if it wasn't as bad as first thought and that's why he didn't start (to miminise impact) but was brought on later which has unfortunately made it worse?

Not getting in to the Dolman. Simple and no issues.

That was quick - mines fixed now.
Edit: now back to Birmingham!

The IT guy getting a phone call to get back to the office to fix this pronto

Mines showing Birmingham as well. Strange.

Playing devils advocate here but with Nigel saying we are pretty much at the limit for wages would we struggle to offer Alex a lucrative offer to sign for another year?
Doesn’t sound like he wants too but just a thought?!I suspect our wage structure includes his potential new contract taken in to consideration. I don't think we'd offer him a contract we couldn't afford to.

Perhaps he's also suggesting tight finances regardless of any potential AS money to stop other clubs thinking we're quids in and they can charge us inflated prices

A good idea and a way to test the new ticket scan system.

Just like a season card now
No way of stopping
Though those that think they can use the same ticket will get stopped on the additional use
Usually this and Pass2u wallet
Ah right. I'll see what happens next.
Found why i thought it was Google Wallet. Had this in my ST booking email.
Q: Will I receive a new season ticket?
A.2023/24 Season Tickets will be digital so, prior to the start of the season, you will be able to add your Season Ticket to
Apple/Google Wallet on your mobile phone. More information on how to do this will be issued in due course.
We will work with individual Season Ticket holders to find a solution for them if they are struggling with using a digital season ticket.- 1

The tickets going to be availble through Google Wallet isn't it? I'm sure thats what it said. Not a new app.

Mark Ashton effect
Personal feelings about him aside, the fans love him there and given some of the business they've done and their season, he probably is a contributing factor to their confidence and ST sales.
Lets see how they get on in the transfer market now and on the pitch next season to see if this lasts.

A lot of the comments I'm reading about him are quite negative, I know it could be sour grapes but comments like
Happens at every club. Look at some of the comments on Massengo's thread.
Some fans forget players can develop and thrive in some teams more than others (all depends on the management, coaching, atmosphere in the squad etc etc plus how they/family settle in the area).
He could get back to his best here (or not), same as every player that struggles when they leave us.
Too many fans have a narrow Football Manager game mentality.

I'm assuming 'all football activity' in the off season means he also cannot be transferred? Seems a large punishment to me where this could have been the summer that got him a big move
Hadn't thought of that. I wonder if this ban does also cover a potential transfer. I'm sure there's some lawyers somewhere that would love to take on the FA to challenge that.
-
What's the point in applying part of the ban during the off season? Surely 8 months should just be applied during the playing season and possibly pre-season friendlies? Wouldn't that be a more meaningful punishment and demonstrate an example to others? Or am i missing something?
That's like banning me from working when i'm on annual leave?
