  1. I wonder if Zac Clough’s dad is still laughing at us
  2. Sure everything will come out in the fullness of time regarding how and by whom the flight was arranged. The whole thing just seems very odd - IFR flight over water in the dark in a single engine, in conditions where icing is likely to be present. Pretty much everything you’d want to avoid, and when it was so avoidable, it seems incredible that those risks were taken when a (not difficult) commercial alternative was available.
  3. Speculation online that the pilot was vastly experienced with 100+ single engine channel crossings. What I can’t fathom is why not fly commercial. At night in the middle of winter, it just seems such an unnecessary risk. You can fly through AMS and be in Cardiff in 4 hours.
  4. Incredibly sad. Thoughts with his family and all associated with Cardiff. Certainly puts petty football rivalries into perspective.
  5. Not entirely surprising considering they’re both considerably better players.
  6. Interesting to see Johnson liked this tweet within the last hour. Wonder who that’s aimed at. Weimann?
  7. Agreed. Between this and acting like somebody died when our biggest rival took our prized asset, we don’t half make ourselves look ******* tinpot at times.
  8. Sorry if all the positivity is getting to you mate. On the plus side it’s pissing down with rain and we’ll lose Saturday so chin up!
  9. I definitley get that. But I think people need to get over it and judge this season on it’s own merits. If after 10-15 games we’re really struggling questions rightfully need to be asked but a bit premature to be all doom and gloom after 3 games. Fingers crossed this gives us some confidence going into what will be a very tough game on Saturday.
  10. People may loathe him but anyone who thinks Pulis is a crap manager is deluding themselves!
  11. I’m not disputing any of that. Simply saying that the reaction to losing one game this season, against one of the top few clubs in the league, was massively over the top, IMO.
  12. I was 13 when he managed us so I’m a bit young for the hate that others have for him, I only have vague recollections of him managing us, I didn’t get my first season ticket til a couple of years later. He did a great job at Stoke and has made a flying start at Boro. I think he has all the nous required to swiftly get Boro back to where they think they belong.
  13. My point is that our record over the last few years against them means absolutely nothing in respect of the gulf - nay, chasm - of class between the respective playing squads. You’re talking about a team where pretty much every single first teamer walks into ours. A team who’s front two cost what we spend in 2 or 3 windows let alone on 2 or 3 players. They are a very very strong side and have inflicted our only defeat of the season. I stand firmly behind my statement that the reaction to the opening 3 games has been ludicrously over the top. Am I saying we’re a great team? Absolutely not. I think we look every bit a mid table side. But as a mid table wage payer, with a mid table squad and a mid table manager that’s pretty much in line with my expectations!
  14. I’m well aware of our recent results against Boro. I’m referring to the here and now. Impressive squad assembled on big wages under a very good manager. They will be there or thereabouts without a shadow of doubt.
  15. I’m far from ‘all happy clappy’ and am not hesitant about criticising players and manager. My comment was meant to actually make people think a bit about whether their knee jerk ‘everything’s awful’ reaction to one defeat in 3 was a tad OTT on reflection. Hey ho.
  16. We’ll see after 46 games. I’d put money on then being very close to ‘top top’ !
  17. Really?! Reading this forum in recent days you'd think we were relegated already, reaction to one loss - against a top, top side - has been frankly ridiculous.
  18. Nothing to do with being smug Bob. But the reaction to 3 games (of which we lost 1, to one of the division's true heavyweights) has been so enormously over the top.
  19. As close to top as we are to bottom. Maybe it's not a crisis just yet eh?
  20. Well what do you know. Lucky they didn't throw in the towel at 7.15 like everyone else
  21. Hopefully the players have a bit more belief than us, you'd think we were 50 points adrift and doomed reading this!
  22. It’s not much better. 8th Dec was last away win - 256 days and counting! (Though I appreciate there was a close season in between it’s still grim!)
