  1. Happy for him or course but imo he’s been awful this season. Then again so have all the attackers.
  2. That goes without saying mate. Doesn’t mean we can’t be unlucky with this as well, isn’t like it’s a one off occurrence at this club.
  3. Seriously how are we this unlucky.
  4. Does anyone think we could possibly be holding on to funds for our next manager? Part of me thinks we’ll stick with Nige this season, he’ll keep us up and try to improve the current players, then when his contract ends at the end of the season we go our separate ways and give the next guy the tools he’ll need rather than let Nige have the money now when the plan is to not renew his contract? Can’t help but feel he knows he won’t be here next season and the club are preparing for life without him now and trust him to see us through this season so we can hand the club to someone else and they can bring in players they want with a bit more of a transfer kitty? Maybe a mutual agreement has been made and we’re currently keeping an eye out for the next manager over the course of the season. Just a theory of course but I do genuinely believe this is Pearson’s last season with us. So isn’t crazy to think the clubs decided to write this season off and go again with a fresh face in the summer.
  5. Unless we are in a proper relegation scrap, I think Pearson’s job is safe this season. Out of contract at the end of it so makes sense to keep him for the remainder. I’ve no doubt we’ve got one eye on his replacement already. He’s seen us through a very rocky patch and if it’s another sub standard 14th-19th finish we’ll most likely part ways. As for signing 5 players…. HA! That’s definitely what we need but it isn’t happening. I’d settle for 3 at this point, striker, Scott replacement and a keeper.
  6. Nobody likes to say it because we live in a world where it’s better to be ignorant. I’ve watched 2 of the women’s games now at this World Cup, the level (which is no fault of their own) is absolutely awful. The evolution of women’s football is still in its very early stages, it’s great how it’s coming along but let’s not pretend it’s anywhere near the men’s game. I have no doubt in my mind that if you put the Bath City men’s team in the women’s World Cup they’d win it without conceding. So to even think the manager of the women’s national team should be considered for the men’s national team is laughable. She’s succeeding because she’s a very talented woman in a talented woman’s set up. Let them build together and improve their game. If she takes the man’s job it just makes the women’s game feel like stepping stone when that should be her pinnacle. She needs to stay there and build a legacy in women’s football. It won’t end well for any woman that steps in to the men’s game. It’s too brutal, the women’s game is a much more appealing and friendly environment where they actually have a chance at making it.
  7. Got to admit, I know Zak had a good 22/23 season but I was still worried about him but he’s gotten even better. Seems to have gone from someone who was taking their chance to now being the main man. Dickie has been solid but Vyner has been immense. Looks like we FINALLY have a well balanced settled centre back partnership. Just need to get Vyner tied down to a new deal now!
  8. Considering what’s just happened then yeah we’d be silly not to try. Better than spending 1.5m on the Oxford lad.
  9. Regarding the last bit. Aren’t we pretty much at our wage cap at the moment? Scott would have been fairly low wages too so not completely sure how much wiggle room we have. With AS going, Conway injured and no decent option in goal other than Max, still think 3 more need to come in. Honestly think losing Alex will hit us hard. Same happened when Brownhill left. Any hope of a top 6 push went when AS did. Should still be a very good season though. Interesting few weeks ahead in the window for us you’d hope.
  10. Well on the assumption that a bid is made between now and Saturday, if it is then he won’t be in the squad. If there isn’t then I’ll imagine Nige will play him as he’s our best player. That article suggests the clubs have finally come to some sort of agreement and a bid is imminent. A lot of time between now and 3pm Saturday of course. Hopefully we do get to see him one more time but if Bournemouth have a bid accepted, no matter how long it takes for them to actually sign/announce him it would be right to assume the club won’t play him.
  11. Well that looks like that… can’t imagine this will be a quick deal. Was hoping to see him for one final time on Saturday but I imagine he won’t be in the squad now. Shame it’s Bournemouth but we’ve asked for a certain amount and they are the ones that are going to pay it. Just have to hope he has an absolute blinder this season and someone comes in for big money next summer.
  12. The Saudi bubble will burst. They will get hit with rules and regs soon which won’t allow them to continue as they are or they’ll realise what they are doing isn’t earning them what they hoped. I’ll never watch a game of their league, same with the majority of fans.
  13. Really hope they get dicked 4-0 every week
  14. Nothing wrong with the Top G but Barton needs booting.
  15. Im aware of that. I’m just saying I don’t think the bidding war will be like an auction if it comes to that where Bournemouth offer 25m, then West Ham 27, then Bournemouth back in again at 29 etc like some here are thinking. More it will be 25 million that one bids which gets accepted and then the other matches it, then both clubs will try and out “package deal” the other with bigger upfront fee or better/more achievable add ons.
  16. Bournemouth were offering 15m upfront with add ons. West Ham are about to receive 33m for rice too with the rest coming over the next 18 months. Not saying they’d slap 25m down, was just an hypothesis. Was more suggesting that if both clubs offered a package of 25m with add ons we’d accept whoever was offering the biggest down payment as that benefits us more. So that was my thinking of how a bidding war would go, not one club offering more of a transfer fee but maybe putting down more for an upfront fee than the other.
  17. That’d be nice. I imagine the money won’t go up for him but the money received instantly might be what the true fight would be. If West Ham came in and offered 25m upfront with add ons and Bournemouth wanted it spread over 2/3 years they’d lose out. It would be interesting to see if they then offered more than West Ham but still spread out what we’d take? Say 27 million over 3 years or 25 million right now. Think I’d be inclined to take the 25m. Oh to be a fly on the wall.
  18. Have a feeling they won’t mess around with their 2nd bid. Think they’ll come in with an overall deal that’ll reach 25-30m with add ons now. Still praying for a bidding war and that Scott ends up somewhere better than Bournemouth but we put a price tag on him and have to accept whoever it is that pays it. If he does end up there we’ll all just have to hope he has a blinder and they sell him on to Man City in 12 months for 120m ??
  19. They get so much engagement out of our fan base on twitter it’s a joke. They know anything negative about us bring them interactions. Both a pair of clowns searching for clout.
  20. Such a risk for him going there. Genuinely think it would be an awful move. It’s incredibly hard for any player to stand out in a Bournemouth team. They will more than likely go down so he’s back at championship level after what will be a rough season in the prem so doubt he’ll get a move away to stay at the top. Genuinely think it’s better he stays here for another 12 months and see what happens after that. Bournemouth, Luton and Sheffield United are all clubs he needs to avoid. No good making such an important move in his career to any of them, hold out for that next level of team. If he truly believes in himself he’ll get a better move, going to Bournemouth doesn’t progress his career at all. Just gets a rotational spot in a team that’s finishing in the bottom 5.
  21. Just seen on Twitter, lovely bit of news. Think that’ll be us done now for the window barring any outgoings? Would love us to keep Scott and bring in another keeper and striker but all 3 of those aren’t likely. Be very interesting to see what happens if/when Scott is sold and if it’s just a replacement for him we bring in. Very happy with Knight though, finally a Brownhill replacement.
  22. Doesn’t hit the same. Have as much interest in that as I do soccer aid. Only really has my interest if we’ve got one of our own in there.
  23. There's still so long before football starts though... christ I miss it. Summer without international football sucks ass, been spoilt the last 2 years ?
  24. Have a Wednesday friend who thinks they are bringing Carlos Carvalhal back. Nearly got the job done for them last time, very harsh on Moore though.
