  1. Nice backtrack, very commonly used though.
  2. Another article there on False 9s https://www.coachesvoice.com/cv/what-is-a-false-nine-explained-messi-kane-firmino-fabregas/
  3. Reid when we played strikerless against Fulham too I think?
  4. https://www.facebook.com/bristolcityfc/videos/913504079427175/ Tore cardiff apart last season too, albeit lower age group
  5. Not sure he was being used in what would be his preferred position either. Add to that him being a young, attacking minded player coming on when we didnt have a grip of the game and were under pressure.
  6. Son of Andy Cole. Clearly he was told by his father to let us win!
  7. FT. not a great performance, but got the all important result.
  8. Shame we aren't Geordies questioning the sub, we could all say Why Ayman?
  9. Barnsley on top, need to get the ball and just slow things down for 5 minutes
  10. I suggest an eye test. My post didnt mention that at all.
  11. For about 10 minutes or so, ending in the 5 minutes before they scored we were on top and the only one looking like scoring. Was it great? Absolutely not. Was it shit? No. Time you get a grip.
  12. an OK first half, were on top until about 5 minutes before Barnsley scored. Then they had a spell on top, got their goal from some sloppy defending (how many times has that been said this season?) Barnsley on top for a bit after their goal, but a strong final 10 minutes from us with 2 well worked goals.
  13. Late coming to this. Tumelty is a good player, bag of tricks, saw him and Jamie Adams when they were with BMF Think Ricardo Rees was in Citys academy Tunnicliff was Brum academy.
  14. Fairly sure he called them Barnsley City after the minutes silence.
  15. There's one angle where it looks like he gets the players foot first. The others it looked a perfect challenge. Think it's a tough decision for the ref, he clearly didn't think it was a foul at first viewing and was told something through his earpiece.
  16. doing a City save, was finding our transfer budget very limiting so offered Massengo to Arsenal for £10m with a 25% sell on fee (his value was listed as 8-10m), they then offered him back on loan for the season with no fee or wage contribution. After a bizarre preseason where we scored 12 and conceded 11 in 4 friendlies (Guernsey one not counted) including throwing away a 5-1 lead against Leyton Orient to draw and a 3-0 lead to lose 3-4 at MK Dons the league started with a comfortable 3-0 against Blackpool with Massengo getting the assist for all 3, and the last goal being Alex Scott from 30 yards with his first touch as a sub.
  17. essentially this. Atkinson signed from Oxford, his prior clubs (including loans) bar Fulham all likely to have worse training facilities than ours. Tanner joined from Carlisle. Admittedly before that he was at Manchester Utd, but whether their youth facilities and training ones are together I dont know. There's also an element of it saying to the players "we've just spent x million upgrading this, we want the money to have been put to good use and for it to help the club advance". I'm sure we won't be saying it to players in 5 years time
  18. just got the game, torn between doing a City save or starting unemployed
  19. Understand that Dave, was just responding to someone asking who other young prospects might be. I'm going to try and catch a few more. Almost every time they've had a game there's been something else that took priority for me. I'm just aware he's rated fairly highly.
  20. Dylan Kadji is highly rated I believe. Not sure we're likely to see him around the first time yet though.
  21. The assumption isn't necessarily an unreasonable one as the vast majority of people are straight, so long as the person is treated the same regardless. Think a little cross purposes here. I support Josh Cavallo coming out, and hopefully he also gets the support needed because sadly there will be a minority of people who will use it to abuse him. But hoping that one day we can get to a point where it isn't needed for people, particularly those in a public to have to make a big statement, but are able to feel comfortable living their life as who they are anyway. I havent articulated what I'm meaning very well though.
  22. Wasn't Justin Fashanu the first to 'come out' while playing? Regardless, fair play to Josh Cavallo. Hopefully we can one day get to a point where players are able to feel comfortable in football without the need to publicly 'come out', but unfortunately society isn't at that point yet.
