  1. They are really a ‘ cult ‘ band . They never achieved the recognition they deserve.
  2. I don’t recognise the last one , was it Cliff Richard ?
  3. And I can’t forgive him for being the artist that kept ‘ God save the Queen ‘ off the top of the charts . We mean it man .
  4. Back in the day you were either ‘ ABBA ‘ or ‘ Bucks Fizz ‘ ...
  5. Good call . Fantastic voice went to waste . As for ‘ Sailing ‘ or ‘ Lady Jane ‘ ...
  6. This guy’s only twenty two . Kids don’t do drugs .
  7. Queen , post Bohemian Rhapsody , went all shite and commercial when they could have been rock gods and pushed the boundaries. Genesis , made some unbelievable complex and touching music then turned into a pop band , mostly thanks to Phil Collins and the missing influence of Peter Gabriel. Def Leppard , British rockers in the forefront of the new wave of heavy metal. Went to the States and became girls .
  8. The question is ‘ missed out ‘ on what ? Fame , commercial success ? One of my favourite bands is Magazine. Howard Devoto ,who cofounded the Buzzcocks with Pete Shelley , quit them to start Magazine as he didn’t want to be restricted in his music. He later said that he regretted his pomposity of the time but they nevertheless made some amazing music .
  9. Rings a bell but we bought our gear from Oxfam and other charity shops and made our own , real punks not ‘ off the shelf ‘ copycats who jumped on the band wagon with their bondage trousers , bum flaps and Mohican haircuts .
  10. Not a band but an individual artist , Michael Jackson , ‘ I’ll be there ‘ and ‘ Ain’t no sunshine when she’s gone ‘ great records .
  11. There’s a name from the sixties. RIP
  12. The Hollies The Kinks Sweet TRex Slade Simon and Garfunkel Supertramp
  13. They touched brilliance with their album ‘ Sheer Heart Attack ‘ . A Night at the Opera was a very good album as was ‘ Innuedo ‘. Where I join you is in their commercial crap like ‘ I want to break free ‘ , ‘ Bicycle Races ‘ ‘ Radio Gaga ‘ ...
  14. I don’t like your away kit .
  15. Any one asked for Spurs v Rovers ? 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 Tottenham.
  16. Big ears is Bush’s Achilles heel .
  17. The shutdown of sport worldwide has revealed, in particularly , for football, the precarious nature of the business. Will the governing bodies take the opportunity to reset the rules ? Will clubs now realise that paying more for wages than you bring in must stop and now ? Will players accept less money in the future to ensure that their sport survives ? Will TV companies reduce their offers ? Will Joe Public stop paying ridiculous percentages of their household budget for Sky and company ? I really hope the answer to all these questions is a resounding ‘ yes ‘ and that some ‘ good ‘ can come out of this crisis. This is a wake up call.
  18. I am not missing football at all . Since the start of the new season , sponsored by Corona, Mrs Isewater and I have been training well . There are no injuries to report . Today we kicked off early at 7.30 am and had breakfast as normal, Four sausages , four tomatoes and two eggs leaving us just a little short at the back . At half time, Mrs Isewater did some essential food shopping away from home . She bought in some reserves , which was the goal. Chicken drumsticks gave us some fresh legs . When we restarted we lined up in an attacking formation. All was going well until our Italian wine went down in the box and we had to open a new one. The steaks were high but we hung in there and finished them off in extra time . All in all a good performance and we go again tomorrow.
  19. I think they’re mistaking ‘ sympathise with ‘ for ‘ laughing at ‘ .
