  1. Keith Brookman, is a thoroughly, thoroughly decent bloke.
  2. No, signed, amusing video completed, ready to play tomorrow. Unlucky da shit.
  3. Okay, to satisfy the pedants, from what I have heard , the Evening Post were reporting on information given, rather than doing the actual exaggerating.
  4. No, it wasn't him. Has he been picking on you or something?
  5. As you were chaps, reliable sources tell me that our new man 'John' was priced at a very reasonable 81% of a Tillson. It seems someone may have been exaggerating
  6. Bearing in mind his recent article about the owners, that's one thing he isn't.
  7. Rumour has it, we may have just splashed out over a Tillson on a player .
  8. **** me you're a miserable lot! What's wrong with a little reminder now and then of what must have been a great memory for a lot of you. Football's a bout having fun and memories, make the most of it! FWIW younger viewers may not realise just how staggering your result at Leeds was in 74. It's fair to say hen you beat Liverpool , they weren't quite what they were- or even what they are now- but Leeds were undeniably the top team in the country at the time. Anyway, I'm off to commemorate our play off win at Crewe in the 90s.
  9. Ironic isn't it. I'm pretty sure I'm right in saying that a protest by the Rovers board led to the regulations being changed. We were away at Stoke who ran a promotion meaning we were charged considerably more than their fans to sit in the same stand. The Dunfords and the rest of the board refused to take boardroom hospitality and sat in the away section.
  10. Bury never won the Watney Cup though.
  11. They went into liquidation. It wasn't me that brought it up
  12. Yes, I'm pretty sure that's the case, I just don't remember the details of 1982 from the time. I do know one of the 8 and chatted to one other about it at a later date and how it is reported now , which is far from the reality of what actually happened. Those players were shat on from a great height.
  13. I honestly cant remember that, but it is pretty well documented on here, so I have no doubt it is true. I was 18 in 1982 and bearing in mind that our only source of information then was the Evening Post, as you can imagine, I was busy doing far more interesting things than reading the paper
  14. Did they come up short? I'm very surprised- it certainly looked more than 3/4 full.
  15. That's pretty much whatt they did. God no- far too depressing.
  16. No, season ticket holders from other sections (like me) were able to swap for a South Stand ticket. I was actually able to do that for the Blackpool game as well and will probably do the same on Saturday.
  17. You were probably counting the ones locked out, common mistake.
  18. Well yes and it's pretty much what my post said, it doesn't matter who you support, c****s are c***s. I was pointing out however, that despite all the accusations thrown at Rovers regarding 1982, some of your own fans own behaviour was despicable. So possibly a bit of whatabouterry on my part Bollocks do they. No one club is any better than another.
  19. Some of whom no doubt, still watch City and applaud the buy into the reinvented myth of the Ashton Gate 8, conveniently forgetting that they issued death threats to several genuine City legends. You don't have to be a Rovers fan , a City fan or whatever to be a ****. This thread has been known to push the boundaries of pisstake , lets not forget just how despicably some of your own fans behaved in 1982.
  20. Time has certainly warped opinions on that. City's demise was all of their own doing. I'm glad to see the Ashton Gate 8 being treated better than they were btw, by both your club and fans.
