  1. Confirmed no promotion, or relegation, from the Isthmian. Gutted for my local team Worthing who were flying high and looking good for promotion, bugger of a league to get out of too. More important things though. And still better to be a Rebel than a Rock.
  2. Peter Hitchens? **** me don’t want to listen to that pompous plank.
  3. Had to look up soyboy as I’m not 12, petty name calling is shocking. ps you’re a stupid ***
  4. What an alternative reality you must live in. Is it nice there?
  5. Must admit I do like the new physical block switches on the camera they have now so you can’t be ‘surprised’ midway through a ‘break’ by an incoming Microsoft Teams call. The post it note over the lens never really seemed secure enough to me.
  6. Dual screen the tv with laptop, not ideal I know but at least you get a ‘read screen’ and a ‘work screen’. Felt like an imbecile yesterday trying to use the laptop as I kept looking for my other screens, and this was just setting it up! New laptop, doesn’t have an internet (ISDN port?)and only has an hdmi out so my monitor is ******* useless. Have to steal a converter from work tomorrow I guess and maybe one of the senior managers decent displays... ...the coffee machine, the coffee, a desk and the petty cash. should be good to go
  7. 12 weeks from Friday for me (why Friday?) New laptop purchased by me personally yesterday, no point checking reviews just grab the one in stock. This sucks. But I can chain smoke at my desk again for the 1st time in 20 years, so there is that... Oh, and try and grow a beard, which I’ve never dared to before.
  8. Exactly, we’re at the mercy of our employers. Much as people say just do it, that’s not how the world works. Government should shut it down officially so people an companies can claim on insurance. For the ‘party of business’ Boris is a ***.
  9. Well can someone tell my employers please? You know, those people that pay me. That’s the difference between ‘advice’ and ‘an order’
  10. Clarity is what is needed, what with Coronavirus and whatever form of Brexit is on the way we’re ******. 2 unknowables at once is going to screw us.
  11. Just pissed off with how crap our ‘leaders’ are.
  12. Can our ******* Government actually make a ******* decision. Advice does not help, our employers need support and be told to send those at risk, or those that live with those at risk home. I could easily do my job from home. **** Boris is not going to be remembered fondly. Theresa May ‘I was crap’, Boris ‘Hold my Beer’. Not that I think Jeremy Corbyn would have done any better. We have such low grade politicians at the moment.
  13. We get about 6-800 or almost 2000 when we play Bognor! My 2nd season watching at that level and it’s great fun. You have the kids with their drum, original songs (It’s better to be a rebel than a rock). Friendly staff, really decent burgers (as in ‘pop up’ restaurant quality).Cheap beer which you can drink in the stands or on the ‘embankment’. And for those like me sitting in the stand, the half time entertainment of watching the two sets of ‘ultras’ exchange pleasantries as they switch ends, and that’s not a euphemism it’s as friendly as anything. No trouble and none of this ‘have a go’ nonsense. Completely different and with a great atmosphere. Weirdly still the plod with their cameras recently though, what’s all that about? Football not bad and has a City connection as the manager’s grandad played for us back in the day, Wally Hinshelwood.
  14. Might have been better options though, like for the top brass to have a better plan (or a plan at all). Today reminds me of the ‘lions led by donkeys’ quote.
  15. Walk into a hail of machine gun fire holding a stick and a Browning whilst keeping a stiff upper lip, gotcha.
  16. Worthing as my 2nd team, flying in the Isthmian league. Games cancelled, gutted, but sensible. Me and Dad attending probably bring the average age of the crowd down, I’m, 43 he’s mid 70’s.
  17. Can easily work from home, still expected in the office with the other 50 odd people though.
  18. And you won . Well done, live with it (or maybe not, considering we’re no longer aligned with Europe regards shared ventilators, manufacturing, access to drugs etc). Soon be coming home to roost, enjoy!
  19. My views are quite clear, just over half the country are mad, or been lied to. The only way that I can cope is that I haven’t kids, however having no skin in the game does make me unattractively gloating. Not a good look. Need to work on that, but suck it up you plastic flag wavers.
  20. 2 separate circles separated by at least a generation in that case I’d imagine.
  21. It happened. It’s the possibility of a decent trade agreement that’s being screwed by this (Not that I ever thought we’d get one). Love to see the Venn diagram between all those ‘Blitz Spirit’, ‘Dunkirk’, ‘D-Day’ spouting gammons and those stockpiling ******* Andrex. I’m imagining just 1 circle.
