  1. 15K posts - "Forum Legend" = Gurt Ted North Korea seems mild by comparison to Slagchat.
  2. This was the vanarama playoff final in 2015 right? This "figure" is growing over the years as we all suspected it would. At this rate (growing 3K in 7 years) they will have taken more than the actual attendance in 20 years time! Waaay back in the this thread i looked into this in more detail - My conclusion based on local newspaper reports of ticket sales one week before the final (presumably these figure informed by the clubs) and some investighation into the method of neutral ticket sales made my figure of dribbling lunatics in attendance closer to 32K
  3. I am sure he has had some claims for handball in those shots? even if he has not been fouled/tackled poorly?
  4. Thanks pezza - I am not a stats expert but that is a lot This paper https://ui.adsabs.harvard.edu/abs/1993PhRvE..48.2547M/abstract lists the probability of a coin landing on the edge as being approx 1 in 6000 Therefore the probability of tossing THREE coins simultaneously and having them ALL land on the edge on the same toss is by my reckoning 1 in 216,000,000,000 Assuming normal distrubution and your figures for 7 standard deviations - The probability of city having to play this long on average to get a penalty is more than1 in 390,682,215,445 so at least 1.8 times less likely!!
  5. I hope that every one of them had a totally miserable night, watching their "heroes" get rinsed by a team, who, were barely good enough to be described as abject in the championship last season. All this coming a few days after their manager stated that "everything they do is championship standard" - lovely stuff!
  6. I wonder how many standard deviations we are off of the mean for this data. It feels like this is in the sort of territory of flipping two coins and having BOTH land on the edge.
  7. Could of almost been mid-match given the consistently pathetic gates they have had through the decades. Their most loyal "watch them from the pavements", "travel in great numbers" fans turning out in numbers again.
  8. The thought of having Conway, Semenyo, Weimann, Scott and Massengo in the team together is in equal measure 1) scary as it sounds a little bit lightweight 2) enticing as the pressing would be the kind of thing that would give defences nightmares
  9. Consider the situation (unlikely ofc) that Andorra FC do get promoted... At the end of next season Barcelona and Real Madrid are vying for the title It is all level on points going in to the last games and the title will go to Real Madrid if they equal Barcelona's result unless there is a 12 goal swing in GD Real have Villareal away as their final game Barcelona are playing FC Andorra in Gerard Piqué's final game as a professional at the Nou Camp.....
  10. How it started: “We’re a lot bigger city to be having no Premier League side and my goal is to put the blue side in the Premier League before the red side,” "waffle waffle, flap flap, first team on the moon " " We make every player better. airhead, airhead, dribble dribble" "we do everything at a ridiculously high level for the level we're playing at. It's Championship and above in every aspect." How it is going: Barnsley 3 - Bristol Rovers 0 Yes.... the same Barnsley that finished rock bottom of the championship less than three months ago Yes.., the same Barnsley that didnt manage to average a point per game last season Yes.. the same Barnsley that had a -40 goal difference Yes.. the same Barnsley that won 6 games last season, but lost TWENTY EIGHT times Championship standard? My arse!
  11. Clean sheet and a what? is this an actual English word or just some random thing you have made up?
  12. I remember thinking the same - being amazed at his pace when we played Gillingham the season before he arrived. It was very exciting to read in the post he had signed for us, Loved watching smudger and Mark Gavin. That front four including also Taylor and Turner was almost unbelievable to watch Come to think of it many years later had the same feeling about Ryan Kent - a player who had torn us to shreds the season before coming to City - very exciting - pity how that one turned out!
  13. Is this the same Joey Barton that a few weeks ago said (to paraphrase things slightly) "I am not going to make any silly predictions this time around"? It is very early in the season - they have so far played 2 of the bottom 5 and won six points from them, and one of those teams played with 10 men for 89 minutes! Given the early season form in league one they have played just one team around mid table or above, and they lost that game, However, in Mr. Barton's eyes that seems a cue for some ridiculous tub thumping designed to excite the dribbling masses that frequent the mem. They will just lap it up! They are nothing like a championship club - in ANY regard, To talk as if they will breeze past us and other established champinship clubs like QPR, Millwall, Birmingham, Stoke, Huddersfield, Cardiff, and Preston and waltz into the premier league is frankly the ramblings of a madman. The majority of clubs that come up from league one actually struggle, and on gates of 7.5K they are going to struggle to pay championship players the money they require and stay within FFP while staying in the divison. I somehow doubt that the blue 25% of Bristol, because that is what it is, based on this seasons attendances, will ever turn up in sufficient numbers to EVER sustain a top end championship club let alone a premier league club
  14. It's nice that you named yourself after your favourite toy, but it's actually spelt pole.
  15. Isn't that a thing from rugby? Can't recall us getting one
  16. Just to put this into context I checked on the distance of this years tour de France A quick internet search yielded "The total distance of the Tour de France 2022 is 3,328 kilometres" so the distance she is cycling is nearly two tours long!!! Amazing
  17. I think this is similar heat to the training camp? I suspect if the coaches felt it was suitable for double training sessions In Austria there wont be an issue, being a pre-season friendly things like water breaks can easily be added in
  18. Good point about utilisation peter. Surely in that circumstance Bristol Rovers would not be the owner (the developer would) so therefore no additional revenue? 5/6K in a 28k stadium sounds a bit like MK dons - maybe a ground share or merger with them is best for all concerned? ???
  19. I just find it highly unlikely that any sane property developer is thinking "sure lets invest millions of pounds (at the start of a predicted recession) to build a 28K stadium for this tinpot club that has not had a 20K+ average attendance in 63 years"
  20. I was a bit perplexed by that also. Swift in relation to what? They do realise last season finished weeks ago, most clubs (like us) have been back in training a few weeks, and done both incoming and outgoing business already. If pre season is the most important time of the season then the owners would have appeared to have royally f'd things up for them.
  21. Very sorry to hear that ITN, you have my sympathies, you seem from the outside like a very strong character - keep fighting. While many of us here will take the piss out of the gas (and admittedly sometimes will even over-step the line sometimes while in doing so) - We are all football fans, and as has been said by others, you (along with Miah, and Bert) are well respected members of the OTIB community.
  22. Impossible to know what order the smaller clips are assembled together in, but _after_ him groaning he he reappears in the background running back and talking to Wiliams just after joe scores. Flemming also mentions Andy/Andi (maybe King? maybe Wiemann?) when doing his speech at the end of the video - talking about "one minute left, fifty seconds left ... lets protect the ball" Agree with other thoughts on here about Flemming, he is excellent IMO
