  1. Haha. Don't say I didn't tell you You won't know if I got my next prediction for them right until May though - RELEGATION.
  2. I fancy Creepy Crawley for a win tonight in the EFL Cup. Crawley are smack bang in the middle of League 2 but I still think they will do well tonight unless there is a new manager bounce at the Sags - Of course it will take a lot more than a new manager to turn them into a proper football team.
  3. As they regarded his namesake as a snake, what type of serpent will this one be? I can't imagine what he is expecting to do with that shower, though I suspect he will lead them back into League 2 unless Wally is willing to put his hand in his pocket and pull out some fake dinars.
  4. Sounds like they are copying Sunderland, but in their case it's the Stadium of Dark. Dump of a football ground (you can't call it a stadium), no manager, because nobody wants the job and a 1920's retro stand with pillars sounds like a non league set up.......... and have you seen their training ground? Hardly the High Performance Centre, is it. Not to mention Santa' grotty grotto, stale crisps, out of date Fanta, boob cricket and Babestation on the box.
  5. I'm anticipating a different City tonight, positive football, passing forward, attacking from the off, maintaining good possession and scoring a few goals.............Only joking
  6. Clearly an exaggeration, it's much worse than that.
  7. As someone who is not easily impressed, I thought Rico Lewis had a great debut and at 19 he can only get better. I've not seen him before but if that performance is indicative of what he can do, then he looks like a future England no. 1 LB to me. What further impressed me was that he didn't seem phased by the ridiculous penalty decision given against him either and just carried on impressing. He didn't put a foot wrong all night and his decision making was excellent. I can only imagine what he will look like in a couple of years with a little more experience, confidence and physical strength. It's a pity the same could not be said for the rest of the team who looked tactically inept.
  8. I too want Liam Manning to succeed and agree that only a top six position is going to satisfy my feeling that the club made a bad decision to let Nigel go. That said, none of us know what goes on behind the scenes, what Nigel was demanding, what he said or what his general state of health is. Let's all support the new guy, but he does have big shoes to fill.
  9. I've recently been wondering why the Sags still haven't appointed a new manager. I'm guessing that either nobody wants the job or they have not been released yet by the parole board. Someone mentioned the other day that Wael had actually offered the job to over a dozen potential candidates but all had turned the job down due to a lack of money, non league ground & infrastructure, a lack of fans and a distinct lack of ambition. Not surprised to see that the Fruit Market project they have all been harping about for years has gone pear shaped either.
  10. Got a sick note for another couple of weeks I think. Bermuda have a couple of games during the international break, so will probably be fit to play in those if selected (and they don't have a lot to select from).
  11. Yeah, I often thought that might have been a good call. That said, Nigel is a complely different kettle of fish to his Dad though.
  12. Wondering whether we will see anything different today under Liam Manning bearing in mind that he has only spent two or three days with the players. He may have had time to introduce a few new ideas like kick the ball towards their goal rather than your own and pass the ball to one of your own players rather than theirs, though that may be a bit much to ask in just a few days. Brian Clough used to say that "Football is a simple game" and he didn't do too badly with Derby and Forest, did he (Leeds fans views may differ, of course). Just imagine Cloughie managing us to the top of the Prem and a Champions League victory bearing in mind that we are no different to what he took on at his two success stories.
  13. My recollection of Benny was that he was the worst manager ever to set foot inside Ashton Gate. It was a long time ago and I suppose that recollections may vary (to coin a phrase).
  14. The problem is that we have no idea of what his injury or operation relate to as it is not being disclosed due to the privacy concerns of the player involved, so we must assume it's an embarasing one. However without knowing this, we have no idea whether he is likely to get back to full fitness or what residual issues there may be.
  15. Looking like Frank Lamp post from the betting odds, hoping all is going to be revealed tomorrow. The thing is that whoever comes, he is going to want transfer funds, which begs the question, why were funds not made available to Nigel?
  16. I'm up for 90 minutes of singing that if my voice doesn't give out.
  17. Maybe, but I bet they didn't expect the strength of the backlash or the level of support the fans are giving to NP. Nor do they seem to fully appreciate that he was slowly building the foundations to push us towards the top of the table even without any money or support from above.
  18. We want Nigel back, we want Nigel back. or We want Pearson back, we want Pearson back. Sack the board, sack the board, sack the board. Most of us are so livid about this, I hope it turns ugly. SL and JL are both well aware of how we feel, but by the sounds of it, couldn't care less.
  19. Not sure he is qualified to comment with his record for violence.
  20. Add that Semenyo and Scott were sold for big bucks. Got high earners Jay DiSilva, Dan Bentley and Tomas Kalas off the books and gave reduced contracts to a few others and failed to invest in the squad. Sacked the manager when he could not fight at the top with a threadbare and injury ravaged squad and had to play with kids. The truth my friends is that NP spoke his mind and said that the way that the board were behaving was not in line with his ambition for the team and the board decided that they didn't have the same ambition, sacked him and will appoint a yes man to manage the team. Reminds me very much of the way that The Kremlin is run at the moment.
  21. My own preference is for John Eustace as I was impressed with what he was doing at Brum and previously as Stevenage. Mark Robins, maybe as he has done well at Coventry on a shoestring and he will be lucky to get even a shoestring if he comes here. My guess is that Eustace felt that he could not do the job without a bit more than a bootlace but Robins might come if the money and conditions are right. I can't say that any of the others who have been mentioned or are apparently in the frame appeal to me at all and I don't see anyone as good as Nige likely to be joining us. Having shot ourselves in the foot on numerous occasions we have shot ourselves in both feet this time. No wonder Nige is walking around on crutches.
  22. Maybe Curtis Fleming, as we know Steve no longer wants to put his hand in his pocket (though to be fair, a football club is a bottomless pit when it comes to spending cash).
  23. I would be very surprised if Steve or his minime would dare to show their faces on Saturday. They will get a pretty rough reception if they do.
  24. Whilst there may be perfectly good reasons for sacking Nigel, as long as Steve won't tell us what they are, we have to assume that it was based on recent results (which we all know is bollocks). I don't think I can ever remember in nearly 60 years of being a City supporter ever seeing such a huge backlash against the sacking of a manager (and I don't mean just in Bristol). It's notmally the other way around. Nigel had the club going in the right direction with no money, all his best players being sold, a small squad mainly consisting of youngsters and two hands tied behind his back. Just imagine what he could have achieved with a bit of support). They must have someone in mind to replace him, though I honestly can't think of anyone better, who is available, we could afford or would ever want to work with those scoundrels. A decent manager will not come unless he is promised some funds and it would be really galling if that were to happen. So in reality we must expect a promotion from within or a third rate manager who has been a repeated failure elsewhere (and my money is on the latter). Look out for the fans chanting "We want Pearson back, we want pearson back" on Saturday along with "Sack the board, sack the board, sack the board" irrespective of how well we play against the absolutely worst team in the Championship at the moment and heaven forbid if they beat us. Has anyone spoken to any of the players to see how they feel about it?
