  1. I couldn’t care less if he goes to Bournemouth, Palace or the moon. As long as the deal is the right thing for BCFC and I personally feel this is. He wasn’t going to sign a new contract and the club has learnt from the Famara and HNM debacles. I just pray we reinvest the money wisely
  2. Who would be our penalty taker? It’s been that long, I have no clue? Wells?
  3. All I’m saying is people talk about Bornemouth as if it would be a bad move. What I’m saying is being a footballer is a job, and increasing your earnings is a key part to your career. Therefore, whoever offers the most money would be the best career move from a financial POV. Regardless of what division you play in.
  4. So if Burnley offered half the salary, for example, would they still be the better option? Money talks
  5. Would it be nuts to accept 50k a week on a 3 or 4 year contract? Seems fairly rational to me
  6. I agree all those dynamics will have an effect on the final decision but they also don’t allow you to change reality. The reality is we have an inconsistent young striker with potential, who he 18-months left on his contract. If we don’t sell now they is a very good chance he continues being inconsistent until the end of the season. We then have the same situation but with a 12-month contract, meaning his value reduces. My fear is we are then forced into selling below his market value and certainly below what’s currently being offered. I think 10m would be a good deal for all parties, although admittedly I don’t know the details of how they want to pay as we would need a substantial amount up front to make it worthwhile.
  7. Fair point. Time will tell I suppose. Anyway, gotta go, you’ve reminded me why I don’t bother engaging with people on here. Its where brain cells go to die
  8. I’m not looking for him to be anything, I’m just saying from all the games I’ve seen him play, 10m seems a very fair price and a big gamble from Bournemouths perspective. I think he can cause premier league teams problems but he hasn’t shown the consistency of performance to warrant the kind of money that some seem to be expecting. is he the answer to Bournemouths problems? I very much doubt it
  9. Well I’ve seen pretty much every minute he’s played for us, most of it live so I think I have a pretty good idea. He does not have the technique of a Bobby Reid, the poachers instinct of a Tammy or the game intelligence of a Webster. With Lloyd Kelly you could tell he was going to the top from the first moment he stepped on the pitch, that, in my personal opinion, was not the case with Semenyo. I’m not saying Antione isn’t an effective striker but his pace and power paint over the fairly substantial cracks in his technical ability. I hope he does well in the premier league but I have my doubts that he will be a big success at that level. I would suggest it’s you that has the rose tinted glasses on because he plays for city and prem teams are interested. You therefore suddenly think he’s a world beater worth 15m+ when in reality he’s done very little to command that kind of fee
  10. I’m yet to be convinced that Semenyo can be a consistent top level player. When he’s good he’s a decent championship striker, when’s he’s bad, he’s terrible. I’d take 10m and run.
  11. What a horrible memory to bring up on a Sunday morning

At the start of the season I was saying the same thing but I thought his all round game was excellent tonight

Outstanding tonight. Give that man a new contract
  14. Perhaps brain-dead was a little harsh, apologies. Impatient, irritating and unable to see the bigger picture or put the current performances within any context of the club situation is perhaps a better way to describe you. Although, the fact you take a poll on Otib as your evidence against, I think I might just stick with brain-dead.
  15. Well if no one is denying it then a whole lot fail to mention it. We are not in the bottom 3 and haven’t looked like a relegation side on the vast majority of games. Have some patience
  16. Lansdown has made plenty of mistakes over the years but to sack Pearson now would be the biggest of the lot. The bloke is sorting our club out from top to bottom. Let’s hope SL doesn’t listen to the brain dead sections of our fan base
  17. So you admit we played well in our last two home games but you want the manager to be sacked? Tough crowd
  18. I thought we played very well against Sheffield Inited and have a very exciting group of young players coming through under Pearson’s guidance. Many have very short memories- which actually works both ways, as if we win on Saturday everyone will be saying how we’re an outside bet for the play-offs…
