Respectfully. I think we have the best squad we've ever had, in at least the 30 years I've been supporting city.

    Maybe just me though.

Just imagine the side we've got now in Div 1 !! Massively different standard .

Saying that, really enjoyed that double season .

You mean like the FA cup side at Shrewsbury ?

Cott's team would have stuffed them.

Looks like John Feeney standing to the right of Angus.

Great guy with a smashing sense of humour, whose brothers were good friends of mine.

I think one of the brothers is immortalised in a book about Arsenal fans in the 70s. One of the Gooners recalls a demented City nutter biting chunks out of them during a flare up in a pub near the Gate.

Feeney had ginger/red hair as i remember and is not on the photo ?

All these lads were part of about 50 of us who would hire our own coach (Turners) and travel away for a bit of a laugh.

We all looked after each other with no real harm done and all part of what was going on at the time.

Haha, a mate of mine had one of those in the standard greenish blue colour.  Didn't have enough power to climb Dundry in 1st gear with 4 on board.  We had to get out and push the bloody thing.

Not sure what year you are talking but did this guy go to withywood youth club ?

There was a couple of these cars that would hang about outside the club that we would climb in and bomb off down Queens rd.One of the guys would take the steering wheel off half way down.....he was a nutter.

A couple of things of interest there, each country supplied a linesman each, also the reference to Sheffield Wednesday? They were known as "The Wednesday" until 1929 , would that cast the authenticity of this item in doubt? Also not one Newcastle player in the team despite them being champions that year!

The 1896 Cup final programme has them as Sheffield Wednesday....there is a copy on ebay
