  1. Yeh it needs a miraculous set of results to see them safe. Never realistically going to happen. (Likely) confirmed relegation on 1st April is impressive in a horrible kind of way.
  2. One thing to look for today is that I think - if I've got my maths correct - it's mathematically possible for Rotherham to be relegated today. Their maximum points total right now is 41. If they draw today it's only 39. If they lose then it's 38. Three teams above them already have 39, including the team in 21st, and none of them are playing each other today. Rotherham have one game left against one of those three teams - Birmingham. So, if either of Sheff Wed or Huddersfield beat or equal Rotherham's result today, then Rotherham are down. I think.
  3. I think Soccerstats do it better where they looks at the ppg of your remaining opponents v the ppg of who you've played. There's a lot of numbers in their table, but basically an easier run in is shown by a big +% in the final column. A big -% means a hard run-in. Their system says yes we've got a gentler final 7, but it's not quite as easy a run-in as those off Rotherham, Sheffield Wednesday, Swansea, or Stoke. Look at the top btw. Ipswich's final 7 is nails.
  4. I'm just amazed that the kidz still listen to DnB. Which is what I was listening to 20 years ago when I was a kidz. And they listen to it in the street. In daylight. Bit odd.
  5. I'm pretty sure you're barred from the entire county of Derbyshire aren't you? And you're currently working on Leicestershire? As for the topic at hand... if you see someone start insulting other OTIBers a day after joining... they're not new to the forum. Yeh this
  6. Nice to see they've included the hill of Calvary, complete with the ball that Jesus was famously nailed to.
  7. Their DoF is at a level of popularity that makes Tinnion look like everyone's best mate.
  8. Certainly something a little fishy about it.
  9. Can you please come and explain stuff to my wife when she doesn't understand me? @George Rs For the avoidance of doubt - yesterday was a tactical ******* masterclass. Manning displayed a mastery of strategy not seen since the 424 was deployed by Garrincha et al in the 50s. Combine that with the passion shown by the team now known as "The Lions of Bedminster" and my ******* god Maresca and his boys - devoid of all emotion and worry and as laser-focussed as they obviously were - well they never stood a chance. 71 points are now surely inevitable and Wembley here we ******* come. I'll buy your ticket.
  10. Yeh pretty much. Although I'm not just talking about things playing on the players minds. I'm talking about training schedules being disrupted because of the knock-on effects of extra meetings and investigations being held by management. I'm talking about the coaching staff being in bad moods all the time. Chats in physio rooms, WhatsApp threads, and chats with agents. It's a workplace. People work there. Humans who have moods and emotions and ambitions and opinions. And it's disrupted from the bottom to the top. Of course that doesn't directly cause Vardy to miss or score his chances, etc. But it's sets the tone and the mood of the players and coaches. We did well. We took the chance. But the chance was there, in part, because of the wider context. I really don't understand what is controversial about saying this.
  11. Sorry mate, I don't understand what you're trying to get at. I mentioned Vardy once, in a light hearted comment about him (not) complaining about the accounts be filed. I'm not sure where I've said that his missed chances should be removed from the context of the match.
  12. Not sure I follow your point here. Yeh we were denied penalties, if we'd got them then we might have scored one and...we'd have probably won...and the surrounding context would have remained exactly the same. Not sure how us not getting a penalty changes the context of the game? Separately I'm not sure why you and others have latched on to my mention of the issues at Leicester's women's team when it was just one thing I mentioned in a long list of issues they're facing right now, and I said very clearly that what I am told is that it's the cumulative effect of all those issues causing problems at the King Power, not just any single one. I've also never said that it's solely those issues that got us our win. Because it's not. But these issues can disrupt Leicester City enough to enable a team that approaches the game well - like we did yesterday - to capitalise on it. A few months ago they didn't have all of these issues to the same degree and they beat us at their place (we played well in that game, but never looked like seriously taking something from it). These issues have distracted their DoF, have distracted their manager, and yes have indirectly caused some of the players to lose a little bit of faith in the club and to cast their minds forward to their next contract.
  13. Context. It's just context. Every result should be seen in context. No result stands alone as proof of anything. I'll try and place a loss that's undeserved within its context, just as I will a win that comes due to an unusually perfect storm. I'm not kneejerking at all btw. I posted weeks ago that I could see us beating Leicester - which isn't me trying to crow or be cocky - it's just a demonstration of the fact that I considered the context of this match both before and after it.
  14. What I honestly think is based on what I've honestly been told.
  15. Maybe we offered him more £ p/w than his promotion wage rise?
  16. Yep, and as an aside, FotMob have Mavididi as their highest rated player. Mehmeti doesn't even make their top 5.
  17. Have they really still not managed even one shot/chance? Not even from the 2 corners they've apparently had?
  18. I can hear that sure. I don't think we have quite the pile up of issues that Leicester have, but sure we're far from utopian at the moment.
  19. It doesn't need to be a direct impact. I'm not saying that Vardy has been storming into the accounts room demanding that they file the 22/23 accounts. People are petty, egos are fragile, and issues cause ripples.
  20. Unbelievable levels of impressive shite.
  21. Why has their form gone of a cliff do you reckon? Why is Maresca bemoaning the "busy" international break? Because the off-field issues across the club are causing rifts and distractions amongst the management, ownership, players, all the personnel at the club. As I said, each individual issue won't derail a club, but add them all up and you end up with it impacting the on-pitch performances. I gave us credit for today. We still have to turn up and play well to take advantage of the door being ajar. But the door was ajar today.
  22. Because today was a bit of a fortunate capitalisation against a team ripe for the taking and who we are suited to playing against? I hope he does too. I think he's got the potential, but it's been infuriating how he's been so stubborn and rigid. If he does see today and flex a little bit then great, brilliant, I'll feel good.
  23. Well then it's a shame I'm not a gambler. But honestly, I live near Leicester, get a few little bits of info from the training ground as well. It's not a happy place right now, and I know several of their fans who won't be surprised at all when I see them.
  24. Some context needs to be considered as well. Leicester are having a pretty major crisis right now. They're facing 3 financial cases, their women's coach has just been sacked for inappropriate relationships, the board aren't really engaged with the owners, the players are grumbling at Maresca's workload demands, they've struggled to get results, and their rivals (Leeds in particular) have reeled them in from what was, at one point, an 18 (eighteen) point lead. Each of those issues might in isolation be irrelevant, but as a melange of problems they are all having an impact. Well done to us for capitalising on that today, but as I said a while ago, I actually don't think this was the surprise result that it will be painted as.
  25. In a 1-0 win does MOTM ever go to anyone other than the goalscorer? I'd have said most of the defence put in better all round performances.
