  1. Had a quick scan through the thread but might have missed it… What pub(s) is everyone aiming for?
  2. For what it's worth, and I appreciate that here it ain't worth much - especially on a 35 page thread, but I've had it on very good authority that this is a done deal. A good mate of mine spoke directly to JL a couple of weekends ago who said JB was a done deal, as were two others but wouldn't give him names. Let's all just calm down and await the news.
  3. Three pages of people disagreeing with each other over whether or not cash out is a good thing. Surely the close season hasn't bored you all this much already?
  4. Having previously worked here and knowing the team promoting this, I can’t recommend it enough tbh Safe car park, central, close to The Orchard which is a great boozer for a pre-game pint, and a brilliant cause. Right next to Aardman/SS Great Britain and an easy walk for those aware of where that is.
  5. Imagine selling your best player to your city rivals for pennies one January, then the next January, selling your best player as a replacement for the striker your city rivals are gonna sign. FTG.
  6. A Swansea fan mate of mine and myself went in the Bolton end tonight. Really had forgotten what an absolute shytehole that "ground" is. Bolton looked good first half to be fair, a cracking goal from Jay Spearing who looked very good. Awful refereeing who gave every 50/50 in favour of the defender, which more often than not, was some G*s centre half against Gary Madine or Proctor. Ellis the Red looked pretty handy but on the whole, Rovers were very drab. That said, if Bolton play like they did the second half, they don't stand a chance of getting out of that league. Invited pressure and couldn't keep the ball. Didn't fight in the middle and let every 2nd ball fall to a blue and white shirt. In other news, Zac Clough had a couple of handy runs but nothing more. Worked out well that we didn't sign him - couldn't even get into the starting line up and when he did come on he was pushed back into attacking midfield behind Madine. Oh, and Bolton fans - despite bringing a fair few - are terrible at creating an atmosphere.
  7. Sold a very good League One player to a League One side. He never really did enough at Championship level but don't think anyone ever doubted his ability a league below.
  8. You joke but BetVictor were offering odds on Wade Elliott anytime scorer against Wigan last weekend...
  9. I know this will have been said somewhere, but I'm too lazy (and keen to listen before I miss too much) to hunt for it. Is there a way to listen to the live commentary online? The official BBC Bristol site blocks it, any streams or roundabout ways of getting the commentary?
  10. I'm sure it's been said on here but there's a lot to trawl through and I can't remember off hand. Does anyone remember the date the Blue Few were last ahead of us in the league standings?
  11. QPRFC... But no, seriously, I can only get 4. Plymouth and Fylde. I'm assuming it's a team like Colwyn (minus the O obviously) that have a Y in the name. Not gonna get it though I doubt.
  12. Obviously a loss isn't great by any stretch, but if we'd have been offered all 3 teams winning at the beginning of the day, we'd have taken it. In terms of MK and Swindon, we matched them. It all could have been so much worse. One less game they have of regaining points. It's days like today that their fans will be frustrated to have lost. A better weekend for us than them.
  13. Win, lose or draw, it's one less game that MK and Swindon have to catch us.
  14. Two months ago, when JET wasn't getting a start, the only real change to this lineup would have been no Freeman. Agard is back, a much more natural goalscorer than Smith (IMO) and he's been out long enough. If he wasn't ready, Cotts wouldn't have brought him back in. Cotts has had three teams in mind the last week and said it hasn't changed. He also said this is the most important game. He knows what he's doing and has had this organised for the while. There's a reason we're in the position we are this year, and it's not necessarily Freeman. It's Cotterill. Let's get behind the boys. COYR!
  15. Obviously this is a bit of an extreme example but mirrors the thought process. Michael Jordan and Babe Ruth were both up there with the most misses and most strike-outs. But they were also highest scorers and highest home run makers. Even the top players miss, it's natural. If you get into the position and bag a couple of goals every other game fans will be happy.
