Surely Rovers didn't post this job spec: https://www.fish4.co.uk/job/15758607/financial-controller/
Bristol Rovers Football Club (BRFC) dates back to 1883, following a meeting of five young men at a restaurant on Stapleton Road, in the Eastville district of the city. Since then, we’ve won the Gloucestershire Cup 32 times, the Third Division South Cup in 1932, the Watney Cup in 1972 and have been Football League Trophy finalists twice.
The meeting went something along the lines of.......
"Let's start a football club. We need a name that captures our identity and will reflect our moral compass in 150 years time..."
"Hmmm....I know.....Black Arabs FC"
"Great! That'll do. Perfect fit"

Time has certainly warped opinions on that. City's demise was all of their own doing. I'm glad to see the Ashton Gate 8 being treated better than they were btw, by both your club and fans.
The demise was due to long contracts and in house power struggles with the board of directors.
It wasn't the fault of the supporters. Fans didn't want to see the club die, some supporters went too far.
Rovers just wanted to see the club die and did **** all to help.
When it goes tits up with your fraudulent owners let's see how your lot react

Still exaggerating
So far, I've seen and heard too many things which give me massive concerns and this latest 2 debacles with Martin and Conteh just highlight that someone or the new owners are either out of their depth or just plain don't know what they are doing.
Whatever it is, they need to have some humility about the situation and get a grip of it all very quick because it won't just be this fan vilifying them, they'll have 10k or so doing it and we'll be right in the .- 7

For my generation they are largely an irrelevance - just something to take the piss out of and lets face it there is plenty of material. However, i suspect you will get very short shrift from the generation above me, who lived and breathed 1982 when they tried to strangle us out of existence.
They'll never be irrelevant until they are dust....1982 showed them for what they are. Pikeys.

Quite a few threads on Asschat have now resorted to name calling.
The feral ones are turning against each other.

Honestly, it's better than therapy over there.
More pennies dropping than the Weston Amusement Arcade
Team is shit, Ground is shit, Nobody wants to join them (players or staff), no talk of the play-offs just the fear of relegation, infighting on the board, selling the ground and Da Quarters for profit, it's the end of the world as they know it.
We've known it for decades.....thick inbred *****!

A few more little gifts from The Gift givers (and why not? They’ve disappeared from the face of the earth this morning)
He was going to steal the show and ended up stealing a wage instead
Delusion meets reality
And here you have it. They don’t care and are not obsessed with da shit. However, Liverpool were just a stepping stone to a far greater prize. Aww bless
It didn’t, but as I stated the other day if you say things with enough AGGRESSION as a Gashead then no-one will dare question it so it must be TRUE #Gaslogic
Just like everything for the sad Gasheads.
Lovely to hear your response to Norwich equalising was to aggressively shout “Goodnight Nan” even louder. It worked wonders didn’t it?

They’ve missed out on a money spinning tie.
They could have had a couple of quid to buy a few more over 35 ex shitheads
Oh well.

That is literally a perfect summation of #Gaslogic delivery right there and what it actually means is complete and utter bollocks being spouted.
The aggression stems from the fact that deep down they know that they’re Tinpot, but if they say it with enough aggression then no-one will dare question them. Poor little insecure babbies

Rovers are in there. Any deluded Sag will tell you so with aggressive certainty.

Promotion chasing Bristol Rovers are 12 points off the play-off places.
Incidentally, relegation threatened Bristol Rovers are 12 points off the drop zone.
Glass half full Saggies and Journo’s obviously
In other news mediocre Bristol City 1982 Ltd are 4 points off the playoffs and 14 points off the drop zone.
Going backwards gurt Ted’s mind

Quite a heated debate going on here.
I’m quite buoyed by this signing. I think it’s a low risk move by the club, essentially loaning out a player who has been struggling for any sort of form since returning from injury and bringing someone in who is young, creative and who believes his best football was played under LM.
It’s a chance to see if we can create that link between the midfield and TC to create chances and it’s at no additional cost.
Meanwhile, we’ve got TGH on a permanent deal and the Transfer Window isn’t closed yet. We might be looking at forward options too and we can still look at those without the bank being broken.
Also, there is no guarantee that a permanent deal will make any difference to commitment from the player, and then there is always the Bristol City curse where we sign someone who plays 2 games and spends the next 9 months on the treatment table.
I’m interested to see how Twine slots in and how adding some creativity (which we desperately need) impacts TC who could end up really improving with decent service.
I’m looking forward to seeing what happens when we pick up free kicks in and around the box, because Twine is dangerous in those situations.
Welcome Scott.

Never played top flight football…..
Either:-
A) Poor research
B) Doesn’t realise that top flight football existed before 1992.
C) Is a secret Gashead and only thinks we’ve existed since 1982

Knight is a gem of a player and we need to find a few more like him. No wonder he was tired yesterday as he had to try and fill in the anonymous holes left by Bell and Mehmeti.

Home game v Nottingham Forest for the return leg of the 1988/89 League Cup. It was surreal. The band kept marching while the poor guy was lead on the pitch.
I was just about to mention this very game. I remember it so vividly. One of the band members collapsed and the fans started shouting ‘Bruno Bruno’ as he had been knocked out by Mike Tyson around that time.
They announced at half time that the poor chap had passed away and I saw the body being brought out of the first aid post at the end of the match. It was so sad and has been etched in my mind ever since.

They reacted well to the Snake and being relegated out of the football league by Colin Daniel wearing their kit didn't they? There's a good yardstick, plus punching horses, stewards, players in the back of the net etc with a sprinkling of racism.
We know there are idiots supporting every club in the country.
Unfortunately Rovers have more idiots than most. Anyone with half a brain cell would have given up supporting them years ago.
Now it's just stuck in the 70's ToteEnders, their kids / grandkids that have been forced to wear a clown shirt that bother, but no doubt they'll grow up disillusioned by the delusions of their elders and eventually stop bothering altogether.
