  1. Still have the view of an underwhelming appointment, however there isn't many who excites! Lampard only excites for the potential players he could advertise / the TV coverage we would get. Apart from that, I cant say I've been excited by any names (maybe excluding Will Still) as it seems like groundhog day... I was underwhelmed by Cotts so I'm not going to riot or fantasise as there are too many variables the average fan doesn't understand.
  2. Probably should have checked before i posted! Just going with the locals expectations based on signings. Naive from me
  3. Maybe it was just high profile transfers that made them so optimistic. I have no idea who they have signed apart from a player caled Mark Harris. Just got the general consensus that they should be up there from every Oxford fan I've spoken to. Feel free to correct me on that, was just talking from an outside view of following them.
  4. Having moved to Oxford last year and having lots of Oxford supporting friends, I have followed them from the distance. The consensus from my freinds pre season was that they have spent a lot of money and would be promotion contenders. Started off slow and now where they should be with their financial impact. Haven't actually watched them yet so no idea on their style, however a few friends have said they have been extremely lucky to win numerous games. Apparently Rovers battered them but still managed to lose
  5. Dont suppose anyone not at the game has managed to find a stream?
  6. As @Taz said prior, he's not a sick note. Probably our best CB and one who I think, if fit, would be a crucial part of a team challenging for playoofs. With that said I wouldn't offer more than a 2 year deal at 10-15k as that is personally where I see as his maximum value. I'd like him to stay but I also have the confidence in the reinvestment of wages (probably more so) in new assets going forward. If he does leave, Id like to say thank you for his efforts as hes always been committed, but relent againt (ashton/Johnson) for their financial impact on our club.
  7. Personally speaking, I would give Dasilva MOM. Pring - Improving every game and think he is one of the first names on the team sheet. Vyner - Maybe controversially, happy for him today, but really think he's a weak link in possession. Feel like he's very limited and probably punched above his weight this year. (Accept I'll get some negative reaction for this comment). Tanner - Looks a really good value purchase and solid at this level. Excited to see how he progresses. James - For me, my player of the season. One of those players who goes unnoticed but does so much good for the team. Breaks up play and keeps the ball so well and has such good technique on the ball. O.T.C - Hard working but not seen enough yet. Naki- Hard working and one of those players that if a chance fell to, you'd want him to be on the end of it. Off sorts today with his finish, but think hes a good team player ATM. Weimann- Faded this year but also adds to the team. Gives us a needed energy, albeit sometimes too rushed. Cornick - Want to give him a longer before evaluating but so far think he's been poor. Bell - Played well today. Has raw pace and excitement factor. Think he will eventually be a very good player but probably a couple of seasons away yet. Mehmetti - Not seen enough of yet to judge. Andy King - A usefull squad player. Good influence on younger players. Overall- Style of play has certainly started to come to fruition and think Nigel has got players who believes in himself. Think next year is another partial rebuild, but kick on after towards play-offs. Happy with this season as a whole.
  8. https://ww1.pawastreams.top/luton-vs-bristol-city/53804/ This one is currently working
  9. It's funny how staff transitions affect different dynaimcs. When Pearson came in and before his tenure, almost all of our points came from away games - now it's shifting towards turning Ashton Gate, a hard place to come to.
  10. Sit back and relax, Nige and Co have this sorted. Full faith in this management team. Hit top ten, pushing for top 6 again. Reduce age profile and develop current players and we are back in a good place as a club.
  11. Think thats the hard part to be a successful team without putting the club at a detrimental financial state. It's hard to replace assets when they want to go to a higher level and finding the balance of selling fringe player to get enough money to further enhance the squad.
  12. It's all about the process. When you look at our spendings this season and where we have been as a team the last few seasons, we should be fighting relegation again. However, for the first time in a long time, it feels as though we have some direction and a clear plan. A mid table finish this season would be great, it gives us a platform to build on again and keep moving forward in the right direction. I'm excited by the process and everything seamingly starting to line up - the team playing good football, fringe players taking their chances, recruiting from the right pool of players at the right price, and results slowly turning our way from the end of last season. Trust the process and trust our Nige.
  13. Admittedly only watched from Robins TV tonight, but the fans came across so well through the screen. It shows it’s a doubled edged sword, if the players put the performance in, then it will be rewarded by fans who pay their hard earned money to see the lads. Great effort all around!
  14. Like my post in the match thread, thought he was as close to a 10/10 at this level as you can get. Loved him giving Scott a good taking too first half - what a leader. think he will be the best bit of business we have done in a long time and can see him being our captain if Bentley leaves. (just realised I’ve put this in the wrong thread ? meant to be about Naismith if a mod can merge kindly) ?
  15. Top post but have to slightly disagree with the Vyner comment. I’m not his biggest fan but thought he was excellent tonight in a solid defensive performance. Apart from that thought, you’ve got it spot on!
  16. Naismith was absolutely excellent tonight. As close to a 10/10 as you’ll see at this level. Bentley done everything we needed from him, great save at the end. Thought all of the defence were superb. Only major thing I thought the ref got wrong was a stonewall pen for us, but agree with the red situation. Thought masengo was poor in possession but immense second half. Scott I thought was pretty poor but also a lovely weighted ball for the first goal. subs were spot on tonight and everyone left everything on the pitch. Not far off being a very good team. Hoping this sparks a good run. Think Nige has brought in players well so far and can see the value the players he has brought in. COYR, well done to everyone involved tonight, onwards and upwards!!
  17. Pring’s not a young player but still lacks experience at this level. If there was any grudge held against him because of his Preston last minutes decision, I think it’s really harsh. A player who’s broke through and exceeded expectations, who makes a few small mistakes and gets penalised for it. it’s all hearsay but personally would put Pring as first choice in the wingback role.
  18. Same here, if there is any going would be much appreciated!
  19. Just about to post the same thing. Still in favour with the majority, but the geneal feeling of him being a saviour is starting to change. The David Brent comment got me.
  20. Completely agree, has that bit of steel to put in a tackle and break up the play. Also has the composure to make the right decision on the ball.
