  1. If people don’t go back for these test events you will never get back to any kind of normality., There will be so many protocols in place it will probably be safer than visiting the local supermarket.
  2. Whilst I admire your observation, I’m not sure we have too much to shout about in this regard?
  3. Streets of London - Ralph McTell
  4. I’m the Urban Spaceman -Bonzo DOG Doo-Dah band.
  5. I’m not sure being a ‘named club’ in League 1 does you any favours. Look at Sunderland. Expectations can be unwanted baggage
  6. I may be in the minority but I think despite their lack of facilities etc they could do quite well on the football front next season. They appear to be building a decent team, with on field leaders such as Max Ehmer(Ex Gills captain)
  7. Many season ticket holders are in a ‘bubble’ ie live in the same house so the club should be able to account for that in any social distancing as you could have groups of 6 sitting together before there needs to be a spare seats
  8. We could do a straight swap,. After all Sean Dyche has already achieved promotion with us?
  9. Listening to Ben Garner on BBC Radio Bristol today, he did make one interesting comment. This was that he thought League 1 & 2 should start next season one or two weeks before the Premier League and Championship. I would agree, their seasons other than playoffs are over. It could certainly be financially beneficial TV etc and might help some of the lower league clubs that would otherwise struggle , to survive.

  11. Seems to be the thinking. Will have 13 clubs not 12 next season..
  12. Like many I expect several of us have already had it. A colleague of mine back in February said she had never had ‘Flu’ like it and was prescribed antibiotics for a chest infection. We won’t really know until there is an antibody test, rather than a test for whether or not we have it now.
  13. As has benn proved many times in Football, be careful what you wish for.
  14. As I understand it although their legal counsel say they have grounds to take it to the courts , Partick Thistle are not going to appeal the decision. I suspect Partick are hoping that there may yet be a restructuring with no relegation this season
  15. But we are not paying 80% of his wages. We are only paying a maximum of £2500 per month which is taxable in the normal way. Whilst I know that many people myself included earn less than £2500 , it is not correct to say we are paying 80% of his wages, as I suspect he earns somewhat more than £2500 a month. Maybe the painting won’t raise a huge amount of funds but I admire the gesture like any other fund raising activity.
  16. I would just like to say in defence of ‘Hollowhead’ he does a lot of charity work particularly those associated with the Deaf , hearing dogs etc but also other areas and ... https://www.grimsbytelegraph.co.uk/news/grimsby-news/ian-holloway-life-lockdown-stevie-4014300
  17. A lot of clubs have donated the food to food banks, and the homeless https://www.premierleague.com/news/1645571
  18. Not always a fan of Simon Jordon, but have listened to him since this begun (and he has been on TALKSPORT a lot lately) well thought out opinion and rationale .
  19. Portsmouth to furlough their players https://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/football/portsmouth-fc/portsmouth-players-be-placed-furlough-leave-along-most-staff-2524653
  20. Just listening to LJ on TALKSPORT talking about how he keeps in touch with the players . No mention of potential cuts to players salaries and no mention of casual staff being laid off. More to do with players ringing up fans who are over 70 who have birthdays during this time and spending 20 minutes or so chatting to them, which I thought was a nice touch.
  21. Fare Thee Well Northumberland - Mark Knopfler
  22. Sorry I missed his tweet. I know we don’t want a big fuss made, but a simple statement by the club along the lines of some of the Premier League clubs would have at least shown that an offer was there if needed. Just saw on Points West that there is a possibility that UWE may be used in some backup capacity.
