  1. The answer is not to have Astro pitches at schools. The one where I live is now at end of life ( 13 years) , been rarely or poorly maintained and completely out of reach of local community.
Fact the local junior Fc has spent over £80k over last 7 years with the “ charity/school “ that manage the Astro pitch!
Absolute disgrace. The answer is a community use agreement which must open up these facilities to local groups for the benefit of the kids and inhabitants of local towns.

A not for profit football club spending 75% of its annual budget on Astro fees at a local school is wrong!

The amount of money in football is crazy and I agree more Astro pitches are needed for kids especially, however it’s not just a case of building more pitches. They need to be accessible and maintained correctly.

As a chair and current fixture secretary of a local club the weather has caused absolute carnage this season.

  2. Anyone who knows anything about football understands that game time and minutes for a 17 year old is far more important than sitting on the bench in the championship.

It didn’t harm Joe Bryan or Bobby Reid …..

    Oh, that is sad.

I never knew @B1ackbird, but used to enjoy his posts on this thread.

I always thought of him as being in his 30/40s, so will think of him as a young man gone too soon.

He would have loved this ! He’s left us in his early 60’s .

    Still far too young.

  4. Just to pass on some very sad news to those on the boxing thread , some will know already but for those who don’t @B1ackbird has sadly passed away after an illness recently. Very sad and obviously thoughts are with his partner, family and friends.

He loved his Bristol city but also very much his boxing. Had many a night at muckers house watching boxing, few to many beers and poker. Will be sadly missed.

In flashes, yes. However, when he was on the pitch it was like playing with 10 men for 90% of the time. He was as much of the issue as he was the solution. We played much of our better football during the promotion season when Wilbs and Agard were on the pitch. He was a luxury to have waiting to come on.

Agree but players like Jet and Tomlin ( first spell on loan ) were fun and exciting to watch.
It’s like a chore watching city currently.

  6. Last night’s match as a football supporter attending the rugby with two kids aged 10 and 11 in Atyeo Stand……

Shocked by how many people were absolutely pissed…. Shocked by bad language and lack of respect to players in general ( especially when kicking ) …. I was sat directly behind a group of 20 Exeter chiefs fans ( in fancy dress) who were absolutely off there heads. Two lads being sick everywhere 55 minutes into the game in the stand.

Now my lad plays Grass roots rugby and I love it, proper respect for referees/ players and coaches etc …… last night was embarrassing sat in the stands trying to explain what the hell was going on in front of us.
