  1. I dont watch anywhere near as much Football as I used to - the enjoyment factor disappeared over the horizon with it's ass on fire a fair while ago. I used to blame my arthritic knee (still do to some extent), but even when England are playing on TV, I often dont bother to watch. I'm just not interested. I only bother to watch the EFL highlights on a Saturday evening if there is nothing better on I'd rather pop down to the local cricket club for a watch, or see Somerset Cricket and I've also started to get into bowling and occasionally watch the Rugby. Guess I'm just getting older and grumpy
  2. so.....I'll admit to listening to the entire podcast between James English and Joey (I had nothing better to do today). It's actually an entertaining listen if you want to keep your mind open
  3. not sure if the paywall allows, but might The Gas be opening an eager eye on an opportunity https://www.telegraph.co.uk/cricket/2023/12/01/gloucestershire-plan-to-sell-county-ground-in-bristol/
  4. exactly that! When Sky TV decides your fixture list, the weekend stretches til Monday nights

  6. The Baseball Ground had a terrific atmosphere, but enjoyed visits to Wolves, Blues and Villa Park too. The best? Anfield.... and THAT night
  7. I expect they're going through a long exhaustive search and will then appoint someone from within
  8. 47 for me...but it was easier when I was younger
  9. Like I said....its all about behaviours. He reminds me of Sean O'Driscoll a bit tbh
  10. the colour Blue doesnt appear on the cross of St George and I've never found the reason why it remains as part of Englands Football kit
  11. There is no Football team called Bristol
  12. also colourblind. I think the two worst colours to distinguish are green and red... which makes an Ireland v Wales match almost impossible to watch as the colours are indistinguishable. Similarly if I look at a wiring loom I see the colour grey ONLY. EVERYTHING merges to grey. The colour blue is a standout colour for me, and I once watched a documentary which explained that colour blind people see the colour blue first and make sense of everything around that. It sort of made sense but I'm not sure how accurate that is.
  13. If he does well...about 18 months. If he fails...about 18 months
  14. Don't really care about Bournemouth tbh. I wish individuals all the best, but if it isn't Bristol City (or Bath City), I don't care
  15. Just read that David Wagner may get the sack from Norwich this weekend. I wonder how he'd feel about a new life in Bristol
  16. Maybe Jonboy was referring to a price for Joey Barton when he said the market is miles off. There was zero chance of that evil git getting a job in BS3
  17. Can't see it myself. Those who may be about to join the club want to know where the long-term future lies in terms of management. Those who's contracts are coming to an end and may wish to stay at Ashton Gate will want to know who the manager in the long term is.
  18. cant see that working if we need to exploit the January transfer window
  19. Blues v City may be an interesting post Christmas game

  21. I'm not sure he could have said less.
  22. Been following City since November 71 when my Dad took me to watch a game (which we lost) from The Dolman Stand. Like a good few others on this forum I've seen good times and bad times but I can honestly say I've never been so disappointed by a managerial dismissal at Ashton Gate in that time. If this situation has been bubbling for a good while (and it seems it has been) I would have thought that City would have been sounding out other candidates for the post and fully expect the successful candidate to be in situ for the Wednesday game. That being the case, it'll be an "out of work" head coach/manager and Gary Rowett would be a leading contender. I also believe we may opt for Neil Harris. Dean Smith, John Eustace etc....I just can't see it
