I’ve been on a lovely trip this morning with my wife and daughter around the centre, we got the train from Parkway to Temple Meads, then the ferry around the docks to the centre, what a beautiful place we live in!.

Anyway, when we got to the centre I saw a lot of the Hull City players taking a stroll around the docks and I must say they looked way too relaxed, like they are already on the beach relaxed I’m talking, so I deduced that we will spank them 3-0 guaranteed!

IMO this is a key reason (along with COVID) for our present predicament. NP is addressing this - he doesn’t sign players for fun, is recruiting carefully without splashing too much out and blooding the youngsters. As has been discussed on here many times LJ and MA collected players like they were going out of fashion, which incidentally many of them did!

I wonder if NP has blooded a few youngsters with the sole purpose of giving them some games on their CV to help increase there value for sale.

Wenger did this at Arsenal for many years, playing youth team players in the cups and early euro stages who are never going to be considered first team regulars, but they then have games on the CV and can get sold at more than they are probably worth because of it.

League one and two promos are absolutely mad. 90 points might not be enough for 2nd in league one.

This is all still set up for rovers to miss out on automatics on GD too.

Rovers GD is worse than all the other teams involved which could be crucial, fingers crossed it is! ?

Saw that Richard Scudamore was with SL yesterday.

That would be a good appointment as Executive Chairman, to help share the burden with Jon.

Family Lansdown - Scudamore - Gould - Pearson. Not a bad off- the -field set up. Almost Premier League I’d say.

Just need to tweak the coaching with a bit of top quality/experience and sort the recruitment out. Then, with the infrastructure we have in place, there would be few better positioned Clubs in the Championship.

Merely the players to sort then, aside from FFP.

    Easy!

Not watched his pre match comments yet- perhaps tomorrow I will, but this is news I feared and I expect a fair few did. Still plenty of time for it to change of course...

Apologies if already covered- feel free to merge if it is  etc.

I think this is good news in a way, at least we are not going to make the situation worse by paying out for more players, and just because we will be dealing in the free agents market doesn’t mean that the signings won’t improve us, there are many reasons why players run down contracts, as with any signings for big or small money, it’s never a given they will be successful

After watching them on Sky red button,I don't think we've got anything to worry about, should be an easy 3 points, but there again we always struggle against teams down the bottom of the table, the only goal threat to worry about is ex Gas man JCH, looking forward to Saturday then,

If you’ve been a City fan as long as me (30+ years) then you will know that to predict a win against anyone is brave, but especially against the bottom team in a season where we have been so poor, but I love the positivity!

Yet another easy draw England, whether it’s actual tournament, qualifiers or just the route to the final, a shame Southgate is in charge

Yeh he’s done rubbish so far, only a Semi Final matching Bobby Robson and a Euros Final which no other managed has achieved, rubbish

  9. New kit bingo goes as follows:

    1) I don’t like the shade of red

    2) I prefer a proper collar cause it looks well smart when I wear it out on the town innit

    3) I don’t like the badge position

    4) I don’t like the sponsor

    5) I never buy the kit anyway

    6) It looks cheap

    7) It looks tacky

    8. I like it

    9) I don’t like it

    10) Modern kits look crap in XXXXXL

    11) I can’t believe they’ve run out of the 3rd goalkeeper kit socks

My beef about the place is just getting away after night time games, the Underground are all service trains and stop every where.

The Underground trains should run non stop from Wembley to the London main train stations

Last time I went in the double year, we parked in High Wycombe station for less than £10 and got the train in for about £12, after the game we went straight to the station, onto a train easily and back to High Wycombe and the car no probs

    That’s what I said!

There are, and I mean this in the nicest way, some bloody daft comments on here. The price rise won’t stop those who were renewing anyway doing so, and anyone expecting a marked reduction just isn’t paying attention. We’re failing FFP. Money from season tickets helps that situation. We may want lower paid players, but that scenario can’t occur until contracts work out.

My question for anyone bemoaning the cost is “What did you expect, and what would it have taken for you to renew?”

You think an extra £150k will help with FFP when we lost £37m or whatever it was?  Do the maths, it won’t touch it

So one adult in the South Stand is roughly the same price as a season ticket at both Real Madrid and Barcelona combined. It's a complete rip off. How about spending less on players and being a community club, rather than wannabe plastics?

100%, my point earlier on the thread was that the meagre financial gains in increasing season ticket prices could easily be off set by not wasting money on players wages.

15,000 season tickets increasing by £10 brings in an extra £150,000, a tiny drop in the ocean when compared to outgoings on players salaries.  How anyone can justify any increase blows my mind when looking at the bigger picture.

  13. I don’t know how the club could keep a straight face if they raise prices, when they have consistently wasted 1000 times over the cost of just 1 season ticket many many times over in recent years on players (and their agents) wages.

They have overspent to the tune of nearly £40m, so charging fans an extra say £50 for a season ticket would only recoup a few % of that back anyway. Pointless!

If they want to address the finances, it’s a joke to start with season tickets, which only impact the fans (who at the moment are all suffering due to various financial increases), probably reduces match day attendances, and therefore even more revenue.

Instead they should reduce prices to get bums on seats, (£50 less on 20,000 season tickets is £1m so sell Palmer and his wages pay for that!) and then look at the real problem which has been spunking money they haven’t got on players who arnt good enough!

My poor opinion of the SP is because there’s only two teams in it. The standard is L1 at best and why the Glasgow clubs win it pretty much every season.

If the SP is L1 at best, how do you explain Rangers results in Europe this season, or do you mean everyone except the top 2 is L1 at best?
