I wonder if he's nervous right now? He'll be sat in the waiting room running through examples to use for the competency based questions.
"Can you give us an example of when you worked as part of team? By Team we mean having another guy telling you the style of football he wants you to play, using the players he wants you to use?"

You’ve already said that he took Derby to the play off final, but then belittled that feat by saying they were in the play offs the year before. Just because they were top 6 one year, doesn’t give them a devine right to be there the next. So I would say he did well at Derby.
You said he was lucky in his first spell at Chelsea., because he had a great academy to choose from. How many Chelsea managers have used that academy ( yes I know he was under a transfer embargo). Players like Mount, James, Abraham any other young players, blossomed under his management. To get 3rd in the league and to the FA Cup Final, after losing your best player and bringing through the kids, to me , is a success.
I could understand the logic in his second spell ( if they were gonna get rid of Potter, which was pointless), if they couldn’t get Pottechino at that time, then give it to a safe pair of hands. Unfortunately, the rot had already set in in the dressing room.
Everton, we’ll none did well there!
Hes just as credible an appointment as anyone else that’s supposedly in the frame.
Agreed, plus the added to draw that he's Frank Lampard, which will no doubt attract players we may want to sign over going to another club.
I would prefer an up and coming manager from Europe personally, a lack of Champ experience is not a blocker, plenty of managers come from Europe and do well, and plenty of managers with Champ experience don't do well.

Is he a good manager? has he done anything other than fail? no.
To be fair all we have done is fail as well, so two negatives together makes a positive if my C in GCSE Maths is to be believed!

If he said he expects us top half fair enough...
With the next two games coming up - i expect us to be top half.
But if they think we should be chasing promotion, they are deluded
Especially as the top 2 are miles clear so at best we are looking 1 of 4 playoff places along with about 12 other similar teams!

He actually said that this is the first time they are recruiting a manager with a clear focus! Yeh no sh*t

I think history (and probably alcohol) have clouded people's memories
He was diabolically crap!
To be clear I don't want him back! But I would be interested in an up and coming foreign coach coming in rather than the rinse and repeat of English coaches

All the positive talk about Benny makes me think that I'd love us to go rogue and get an unknown foreign coach in, if only for the change!

Below is the list of managers that have been in charge since I started watching City in 1970.
The list doesn't look complete, but near enough. Of the 20 something men that have been in charge only once have I felt as down as I do now. Terry Cooper was different, so I don't count that one, he had lined Joe Jordan up to take over so it was expected. The only other time was when Jordan left for Hearts when we had a chance of going straight up Usually, when a manager leaves , you are shite , that's the thing you dump your Manager when he's crap. Nige had been doing ok with loads of injuries and keeping to an ever shrinking budget. Joe had been promised riches, well a chance of being Scotland Manager, so he dumped us.
So this feeling is rare. Anyone been sad/disappointed about losing a Manager before ?Manager history,

Bit different with Cotts as we were struggling so could at least appreciate the decision (I appreciate the lack of investment he had), but apart from that, in my 30 odd years of support I can't remember the fans being this gutted by a manager departure

While I don't want a manager with no experience of managing high-level football. The levels of success are more important to me than the experience in the division. Much rather we went for someone from obscuirty with outstanding success as their credentials as opposed to a Lampard, who's failed everywhere he's gone but got two premier league gigs.
Agree with this, I want us to recruit a winner first and foremost, look at some of the managers who have gained promotion from the Championship in recent years and how much Championship experience they had before promotion. If the list of candidates with Championship experience doesn't include a winner, then you need to look at other leagues for your man

I've never known our fanbase so united.
What realistic steps can we take to get our Nige back?
10,000 don't turn up on Saturday might send a message?
Start canvassing the players to strike, who clearly love the guy?
Sorry but this is a Mickey Mouse Rovers reaction, he's gone and that's that, there are no realistic steps

True, but it can be a massive risk if he's no experience of the English football league.
Considering the position we are in, I think I'd prefer someone with a bit of experience of managing in England to be fair.
All about opinions.
Yeh I can see that but that's what we had in Nige, I guess no choice is guaranteed to succeed.

I wouldn't mind seeing an unknown foreign type to shake things up a bit, I don't know who, but the same old British names is so meh

I see the fruit market is 100% confirmed now as not happening and they are definitely staying put!
Begs the question of where the money is coming from to renovate the Mem? If you can't raise non match day revenue significantly then you are basically chucking your money away, even if it's on the cheap with temporary stands, so why would the owners do that? Which begs the next question of will they just sell up as there is no money to be made?

As per title, my football hating friend took his football loving nephew to his first match last night and made the cardinal sin of not buying a program. His nephew made him feel very guilty on the way home when he said he wished he had one!
Anyway I thought they were online these days but my mate was convinced he saw people selling them? My question is we're programs for sale last night and how can I get one?
Thanks

My mate who is 42, hates football and has never been to a game is taking his nephew to their first ever football match after winning some tickets, I feel this is a good omen for a city win!

To me i think NP still has the passion but he must be so pi**ed off and it's starting to show as he is getting no support from above, he has his hands tied from an owner and son who are showing no interest in the football side of things anymore. SL and JL need to come out and address the fans to let us know what the hell is going on
The positive is that I think by going public Nige is showing that he really wants to stay and see the job through which is great, if he really wanted out he wouldn't say anything, especially if he thought a new contract was defo not going to happen, as he is risking a big fall out and getting the

The issue is (and always be) the lay down of the singing section. It's simply too far away from the away fans and located in a position where the away fans (all 3k of them) out sing the 800+ voices in the corner of the South Stand / Dolman....meaning they are barely heard
No it's not, the issue is 90% of supporters don't sing. When we played Man Utd there was no issue with the atmosphere and the singing section was in the same place.

I saw this stat on Sky:No club in Sky Bet Championship history has picked up 27 or more points from their first 11 games and failed to win promotion that season.
Ipswich Town have 28 and Leicester 30 after 11 games!- 1
