Hi mate. Sounds good. Shouldn't be any issues using someone else's ticket - but how would I get the ticket from him & how much would he want for it for the day?

The problem is he is away for the weekend and hasn't given me his season ticket

The only thing that I can think of is I could tell ticket collections that he forgot his ticket and then get a normal ticket which you could pick up?
