  1. It's not though is it? Would you rather we finished 15th this season or 4th but lost in the play offs? The answer is pretty obvious. You said yourself, 'losing is not success', therefore if Luton do stay up, considering they've lost more than they've won (while not winning any competition) this season hasn't been a success in your book?
  2. Not sure how you can come to that conclusion. When he left he had us closer to 8th than relegation, things weren't as rosy as they were a few years earlier, but we weren't looking down the barrel of relegation by that stage. Regardless of whatever happened by the end of his tenure, he's the best manager the clubs had since Alan Dicks, his success up until 2009 highlights that
  3. So the only successful managers are the ones who win the Premier League (or respective first divisions) then? Would you say Rob Edwards has been a success at Luton?
  4. A team that was going down? When he was sacked we were 15th and 7 points clear of relegation with 9 games left. Our form wasn't great, but there was little chance of relegation. In fact, if all you can say about his tenure here is that he was taking us to league one, that speaks volumes. As for getting us promoted being 'granted', that's clearly rubbish. We'd spent the last 7 seasons in league one and had finished 9th the season before. Perhaps we were one of the favourites, but league one at that stage was known for having very few stand out sides. There was nothing granted whatsoever about us getting promotion, and nobody expected what followed the season after
  5. A positive thing being done with the kit in the next match, hopefully something everyone can get behind!
  6. We're still a fair way off this tbf. Should City be relegated this season (which now looks inevitable) they'll be 2 divisions above rovers next season. Would imagine Rovers will be pushing for promotion to the 3rd tier before long, but the gap then increases hugely. They'll need a huge increase in funding and infrastructure to get near the level of even the top half of tier 3, never mind the championship
  7. Irony being St George was a 3rd Century Turk who is unlikely to have ever visited the UK. His 'cross' was only added to the Royal Standard in 1348 and only became incorporated into the flag of Britain in the early 17th century. It's only very recently that it's been viewed in such a patriotic way outside of military use
  8. They better be careful, their women's team will be getting bigger crowds than the men before long...
  9. Let's not be too generous, it was 87...
  10. Have weirdly semi-fond memories of him. I realise he was useless, but his uselessness made him a favourite in my friend group at the time...
  11. Any guesses which fanbase created this?
  12. Basso Foster Hegeler Kalas Magnússon Adomah Betsy Carle Campbell-Ryce Abraham Adebola Not easy!
  13. Just looking at Scunthorpe there is a real reminder of how bad things have been for others
  14. Wow, quite remarkable. I care very little for either side, but this is football at its absolute best
  15. Massive following from them again today, they really are huge
  16. Over 500 at Manor Farm tonight for their win v Cribbs. A new competitive attendance record for the club, fair play to all involved in making that happen. Heres hoping the two clubs meet again in the play off final!
  17. It’s not about being a super patriot, it’s about realising how fortunate he is to be in a position to play for his country. If he doesn’t want to play for England, fine, I can’t agree with that as a stance but don’t go and make a scene about it. Sitting on the bench for England is more than the vast, vast majority of professionals get to do. He should be fighting for a place in the team, not sulking off because he’s not an automatic starter
  18. Playing for England should be the peak of a players career, refusing a call up is not on in my opinion. If he doesn't want to play for his country, the ignore him, there are plenty of solid options who can take his place
  19. You have to remember a lot of people that age are away at University/have fledged the nest, so a season ticket won’t be viable. I squeeze into the top part of that bracket and used to go with 5 friends to City every week with season tickets between 07-18, none of us have a season ticket any more. It’s for a variety of reasons, people moving away, playing football taking priority etc but it speaks volumes about the attractiveness of the club at the minute. I’d rather spend 400 quid on a few away games a season and properly enjoy a day out with mates now, which is a sad reality
  20. I was told it was at around 60% a month back, figured Sunday would have dropped that number. Regardless, it's not great at all to look at, the club had to do something to address it
  21. I mean, it is the family section and gives a very good view of the pitch. When you compare to other clubs in the league it's not bad at all (£200 at Middlesbrough, for example). Realistically, this keeps cheap season tickets for u12s while also hopefully making the South Stand a bit more than 60% full next season
  22. To be fair, kids can still get a season ticket for 65 quid, with a free shirt, in a different part of the ground. I would imagine there will be a very small negative affect on the number of kids getting a season ticket. People complain constantly about the number of empty seats in the south stand, this is one way to address that
  23. As far as I'm aware it's because of the number of people buying u12 Season Tickets in the South Stand and then not using them. The South Stand has apparently been at less than 60% capacity this season despite being 'sold out' every match. This is the best way the club could think of to change that
  24. Apparently there were a handful sat in a stand to the left. Somebody on Facebook has counted and said it was 82 overall, they really are huge!
  25. Reckon we took more to hull back in 2013 midweek on sky when we'd already been relegated. If it wasn't for the fact that they believe they're some huge club it would be acceptable...
