A neighbour and older friend of mine went by the name of Blackjack - some may remember him ?

He was a prominent Rovers supporter for some years but, and I never knew why as I lost contact over the years, he later became a city supporter.

He'd be lost with todays sanitised "football experience."

I know one. Now a season ticket holder. Forced by his son who didnt want to watch lower league football.

Think Yeovil (who have a number of ex-Vixens among their squad) will be going home feeling pretty peeved. They played some good solid defensive football and opened the scoring early in the second half. One penalty decision from the lino and a deflected strike that left the keeper helpless gave City Women the win. I have to say the Reds just about deserved it on possession and attacks, but there wasn't a big gap between the two sides. However, it's a win and that's what the table records. What's the old adage? Winning whilst not playing at their best is a commendation for the girls; next stop - the FA Cup at the Wombles.

Thanks for report Erithacus.  Did Yeovil park the bus or was did they come for a result?

That's a man who is going to tear Wally a new one.

He will be gone by Saturday

Talk about digging your own grave - fair play though, he is going to go down swinging.

    Staggeringly blunt interview.

Wow! The Powers that be eh? What a terrible state to get in as a football club.

Just watched a little of the Daryl interview I couldn’t stomach it all, but he does look like he has aged a lot recently. A sure sign of being under stress. Look at the lines on his brow, he isn’t a happy man at all. I bet he wishes he had bailed out when other clubs had been sniffing when his stock was high. No doubt he got swept along on the success of successive promotions and thought he could achieve everything with increasingly less and less.

The penny must have dropped now that there is no new ground, no ground development, no new training facilities. He must also realise they can’t afford to pay him off either, so where is the incentive to turn it around? I guess so he gets a way out for himself by attracting another club is his only motive?

Poor guy is trapped. It's like being chained to an idiot.

When Bristol Rugby came across town & snuggled up under Bristol Sport umberella, I was happy enough to welcome them in. I even wondered if I might develop a new found interest in the game of Rugby.

It transpires that whilst it doesn’t bother me that they play at Ashton Gate, the more events the better, imo, and I find I hear the results and hope that Bristol win, I couldn’t really care less, I find the Rugby supporters to generally be obnoxious tossers and the game in general is shite to watch and outside of international matches, is utterly uninspiring.

Oh, any anyone who refers to Bristol as “Bris” needs a slap..!

There are some pretty large Bristol fans, a lot are ex-rugby players!

The full name for the sport is rugby football! So it’s not a non football topic.

dont we have threads on here about the new basketball stadium. Do maybe some posters have an issue with Bristol Rugby? I suppose not every City supporter is a Bristol supporter, even if they do like rugby. I imagine a lot of Bath fans are City fans?

  7. 25,000 tickets sold already. Impressive. Should be a great atmosphere and hope we can beat  our old enemy! I just read that one of their players, Yann Thomas lives 3 minutes from AG and started playing for Backwell and Nailsea RFC. Hopefully another top flight rugby player being a red, like Gareth Chillcott! C'mon Bris!

They should rename this forum Knee jerk incrporated, trawling through and reading some of the comments posted of abuse and despair is hilarious.....LJ Out, tactically inept, doesn't know wtf he's doing...............and then elation and play offs here we come.  The championship is the most unpredictable league, probably in Europe, Barnsley are fighting for their lives, so they are not gonna just roll over.  LJ has plenty of faults, but he is one of the youngest managers in the top 2 divisions, has taken a team that seemed certain to be relegated last season to 1 point from the play offs. I personally think he's doing a great job.  No I am NOT a happy clapper, and I am prone to moments of over reaction and stupid comments..........but maybe a few people should read back through some of the absurdly embarassing posts made during this game.  Sorry I will get off of my soapbox and look forward to beating Brentford on Monday, that's the beauty of the championship, no 2 games/performances are ever the same.

I assume you were not there. We still have good players and we have improved. Tiday was abject like Brentfird away early this season. Very lucky. Outfought and outplayed

Didn't expect anything less than this today. Far too many games all close together with the Man Utd game on top, and long term injuries rather than short term ones. It's almost been a game every 2 to 3 days and against sides at the top.

Still, not many other sides around us have capitalised over the Christmas break either, so we write it off and going again.

The timing of the Man Utd game could not have been worse. What a night but as many thought it is having a massive effect on our Xmas form.
