March of the day in connection with MND

The problem is and has always been our owner always looks at other clubs and then wants to copy their blueprint. We’ve heard it all before and you can list the clubs , Swansea, Reading, Brighton, Brentford, now Luton (I’m sure I’ve missed numerous of others off). No doubt it Ipswich get promoted , they’ll say we need to do what Ipswich have done - although to an extent we’re trying to copy the inexperienced head coach route. I’d just wish they’d draw up a philosophy and stick it to, ignore outside noise and what other clubs are and aren’t doing. Because we try to copy and take snippets we end up in a mess. How many times does this happen? It’s a culture from the top and probably why we’ve never moved forward (on the pitch). We’ve needed experienced football people in the club , making decisions and allowed the opportunity to make those decisions rightly or wrongly. What our owner doesn’t see is that sometimes a club gets momentum and becomes a force , like Luton, sometimes it’s because they hire the right people and to an extent get lucky with more correct decisions than wrong ones. We had to an extent the momentum under GJ , we weren’t a great team but it clicked , sometimes it’s as simple as that

Sorry but what is the ‘tv’ schedule that’s being mentioned ?

Hopefully not the same as on Saturday. The second caller who criticised the first caller for saying it wasn’t an entertaining game and then made the comment as he had gone to Ipswich midweek his view was more important than others !!

@Silvio Dante, @W-S-M Seagull quotes from Tinnion when Manning was appointed. Whether right or wrong appointment , Tinnion was involved in the process. if Manning is sacked then the same people are highly likely to be involved in the process. Mentioned on pod that there is a list of coaches we’re interested in, whose put that list together - suspect it’s the same who made this appointment. Once we had gone for ‘the head coach’ and not manager, you want really a young, up-and-coming, on-the-grass, develop the players, develop the style; so once we had narrowed it down to what we wanted, he was one that came out straight away, really high,” Tinnion added. “We’d known he had really good success coming into the club with MK Dons in his first season, we knew he had lost a lot of his good players he developed in that season to bigger clubs, and then we knew he had a problem after that. “But once we spoke to him, it was really interesting to find out what had happened in that time. He had lost the good players that he had developed, and then the players were brought in for him and he was a little bit detached from the recruitment process. So then, when he lost his job, because the players weren’t as good as the one he lost, he really focused on that part of the problem that had happened. “So when he went to Oxford, obviously he kept them up, and there were 17 players he lost in the summer and they recruited 11 players in and he was very much involved in that process. So he learned from the mistakes at MK Dons. And the good thing for us is he’ll be very much involved here.”

FBC Podcast: CARDIFF [H] the verdict ..... this isn't going well is it?
daored replied to headhunter's topic in Football Chat
The pod today was really interesting and quite although a little heated showed passionate views whether agree or disagree with them. Would suggest listening to Jesse Marsch who was on MNF a few weeks back. He spoke of how his philosophy was different to Bielsa’s and how he had to gradually implement his ideas and not change everything with immediate effect. Really insightful and he explained he had players who couldn’t play the way he wanted do had to adjust his approach -

And I agree with that comment , but for me looking at our players arguing with each other , reaction at full time yesterday and last week in Sheffield - do we have the fight ? -

My comment isn’t directed at Manning , we’re in the shit by the doing of those at the top of this club. Should we even be discussing the prospect of relegation absolutely not. Clearly you believe we won’t get drawn into a battle of survival , so simple question where do we pick up the points required? -

Drinking on a Sunday is never a wise move -
Hope you’re right but do agree on GD
-
Unfortunately we are , the only positive is we need probably 9 / 10 points to be ok. Home games against Huddersfield, Rotherham , Blackburn and Swansea should suggest not a concern, question is do you expect us to beat those teams? We need to pick up a result in next two games before we play West Brom & Leicester to at least give us confidence

Such a shame aren’t doing as ‘mini kits’

So what would have happened if sky had picked it for a Friday evening kick off? Would that then have been the trigger to announce kick off change time ?

Fury v Usyk is apparently off

Leeds United at home match thread
daored replied to Jerseybean's topic in The Havanatopia Match Day Archive
Ignore @Wanderingred , you’re a good poster and frequently post sensibly and in my opinion opposition fans like yourself add to the forum content. Living in West Yorkshire , unfortunately know a fair few Leeds fans, but on a serious note your comments about how hard it is to get your hands on away tickets (even in some instances home tickets ) is absolutely right. Enjoy the game but hopefully not the result -
Nottingham Forest home 4th round FA Cup match thread

Know how tough it is to be in hospital after an operation with a youngester. Hopefully he recovers well , city win tonight and you can both be there for the fifth round. -
Personally disagree , how I see it is the club hierarchy see this squad as underachieving under Pearson and were effectively looking for a modern , on the grass coach. They were looking fir someone who could gain an extra percentage from the players with a little more quality. Not saying I agree with them or that manning is the right person but in terms of what they’ve stated he ticks a lot of boxes
-
I found it a really odd comment , the club are hardly going to say; we tried everyone else but we’ve gone for the least inspirational candidate we could think of. Even Holden was talked up
-
Agree, if it’s him would have been noise Oxford end of him talking to us or we’ve agreed a compensation figure with them. There is absolute radio silence which suggests whoever it is , is currently not in a role , whether they be English or foreign
-
Backed him and Williams from the start as felt type of appointment we would go for, but personally can’t see it. No leak from either our side or oxfords - hope I’m wrong as if correct a tidy few quid but can’t see it
-
But not the translator part earlier post: Additionally, someone mentioned earlier that we might need a translator for our new HC, which wouldn’t be the case here as his English is excellent.

Nothing to have stopped you , if you felt so strongly about it -
Thinks it’s a last throw of the dice full stop. If true , Lampard will increase the clubs profile. However, Lampard has to succeed at his next appointment , can only see a difference in approach to what Tinnion and Lansdown jnr have spoken about, guess we may see the nest egg crack open
