  1. Why let them have the old stadium? Wouldnt a ground share at the new stadium next to the motorway make more sense? That would make the stadium more profitable. The Memorial Ground cant be sold unless they have somewhere to go, Vince buys the stadium, Wally gets his money back, Vince then has two stadium sites to sell /develop which will help pay for new stadium, Rovers fans then get the new stadium they have always wanted, without having to pay for it (something else they have always wanted) they will then have hopes of stealing the ground off of FGR which they also like doing and Bristol is rid of them so all in all it seems a perfect solution for all. In fact we could even go one further, they could just merge with FGR.
  2. I think in their case, NDA means Nothing to Disclose Again.
  3. Apart from the issues you faced, to us it was a great day ??
  4. Their fans are delighted that they can see that the team is now playing better football despite this long bad run. They think that will set them up well in the future. Personally I think they should have gone for Hollowhead, he was open for a return, he would have continued the good work GC did, it might not have been pretty but I think he would have secured them a play off spot by continuing the brand of football that got them there. Unluckily for them they decided to give up on what represented their best chance for many many years of getting to the Championship in pursuit of pretty football.
  5. It seems the sags are trying to follow our very own model of buying young players to develop them and then sell them on. They have obviously seen that we have made a success of it and as they look upon us with envy they want a slice of that pie too. Even their manager has gone on a winless run like LJ did. However there is a slight problem with copying our approach in that for them to secure a young players services it means that player has been rejected by every premier league club, every Championship club, including us, and let's face it if these players were any good they would be on our radar already! They have also been rejected by most League One clubs and I'll say some League Two clubs too that are of a bigger standing than the sags. So basically they are signing young misfits and rejects. That's not exactly the approach we took. We were a Championship club we we started this approach in vein, a Championship club that had a redeveloped stadium, getting crowds of 20k, owned by a wealthy owner, a club that had shown to be progressive and was improving year on year on and off the pitch, a club with quality coaches that players improve under, training facilities that whilst not the best is worlds apart to what Rovers have. We also have a Cat 2 academy and back then had plans to build a new training ground which has now started. We have shown that through us there is a pathway to the Premier League. That's why we are attractive to younger players, the fact we almost secured Eddie and Ampadu shows how well regarded our set up is, Leicester are also trusting us with developing Benkovic who is considered a future top CB. Rovers are trying to copy our blueprint without actually seeing the blueprint, they are literally changing it and hoping it pays off without doing all the ground work that we did to get our set up in place. They are pretty much trying to do what we are doing, but on the cheap.
  6. I'm quite liking this new manager of theirs. So far he is doing an excellent job. Love it when City win but it's even more enjoyable when that win is accompanied by a sag defeat.
  7. Where the hell is he getting the 25m figure from? And why is that figure somehow higher than Birminghams ground? Let's forget about the capacity of each stadium for a second and look at the footprint of the stadium, Birminghams foot print dwarfs the Memorial Grounds footprint and yet using some gas logic the Memorial Ground is worth more?
  8. Wasnt their issues at the turnstiles or something? Causing our fans to miss like 20 mins of the game?
  9. Think you are trying to find some sort of excuse to make yourself feel better and soften the blow that your manager is going to leave you for a club in the lower half of the bottom league, the same club that relegated you out of that very league! He spent 8 years at Southend. I know sags are not the smartest people in the world but you are aware of how far away Southend is from Sheffield? Bristol is slightly closer to Sheffield than Southend is! And then 12 months in Bristol and he is all of a sudden missing his family and wants to return home? Nah sorry mate I'm not sold on that excuse. Considering this is someone that has spent over half of his life away from where he was born, I'm not sure hes the type to get home sick.
  10. As Wally said "no more transfers between the clubs"
  11. I actually think it's good for our young footballers to be sent away from Bristol to play in another town or city, I think thats an important part of their development as a person. Most of the youngsters likely still live with mum and dad so it's a valuable life lesson for them to be taken out of their comfort zone and it's a real test of their character. If a youngster cant handle being away from the family home, then its questionable if they could handle the pressures that being a footballer bring. The only advantage to joining the sags would be that the player would still be able to train with us during the week, but we could still have that at clubs like FGR etc.
  12. "As the former Southampton midfielder admits, City would surely be appreciative" It's this sort of ******* attitude that does them absolutely no favours what so ever. We are a top half Championship side and we should be be appreciative of being able to send them our youngsters on loan to them?
  13. They didn't seriously think they signed him for anything but this reason did they? ??
  14. My almost 5 year old son comes to every City game with me, is barely interested, just sits there and watches his tablet, doesn't even watch football with me at home on the TV but tonight he sat down and watched the rugby with me and loved it. I guess we too will be going along to see a game.
  15. Watching on TV, AG looks impressive. C'mon Bris.
  16. I hate running with a passion but enjoy taking part in events. I've done 3 halfs and a 10k. I'm always near the back but for me the achievement is finishing the race, for me it's all about the bling and that sheer adrenaline rush of crossing that finishing line. I am signed up to do the Dublin Marathon this year, my first marathon, however I am pulling out. I started my training well and did the Bristol 10k, I then switched to the gym and the treadmill to continue my training for convenience reasons, I did the Swansea half and had real trouble completing it due to having extreme pain in my calves. I think it was all the pounding the treadmill that did them in. I'm devastated to be pulling out as I feel like a failure but the Swansea half had really affected me as a runner I spent a little while running with during the race passed away before the finish line. That has made me realise just how dangerous competing is and it's put me off for the time being. It took my calves a good 6-8 weeks for them to recover so I decided it would be wise to not do the Dublin Marathon and give myself a full year to prepare for it. Was hoping to get a London place but again no luck in the ballot. This year has been an incredibly tough year for me, I've had numerous bereavements, life has changed forever but doing the Bristol 10k and Swansea half really did help, it gave me something to focus on and for me it was a part of the grieving process.
  17. To top it off they have also been thrown out of this season's Fa Cup.
  18. For me Bristol City is more than just a football club. My father passed away when I was very young so I never really had a relationship with him. He was a huge Bristol City fan. So when I was old enough to start attending games I suddenly felt as if I had rediscovered some sort of relationship with him. I grew up on a council estate, times were hard, I suffered unimaginable bullying, going to Ashton Gate every other week was my escape, the bullies happened to be Rovers fans! I've lost friends, family members etc and been through various roblems in life. I'm living a rather settled and content life these days, I don't know how much Bristol City has played a part in that but I'm sure it's played it's part. I sadly lost my mother this March. We went on a mini run after her death which really helped. I remember the first home game since her death at home to Wigan. I remember being there and feeling as if everything had changed but at the same time nothing had changed, that was quite a reassuring feeling to have. When we scored our two goals that day I cried. My mother is now burried at South Bristol Cemetery so going to Ashton Gate now has a far deeper meaning, as you can see Ashton Gate from her grave I now feel as if she is watching down on me and us. My connection to Bristol City suddenly feels much stronger. I sound a bit silly don't I but the one constant in my life has and hopefully always will be, is Bristol City FC. It is more than just a football club. I share my story because it's not a unique story to me, every single football fan will have their own stories. I saw on the news earlier people talking about their parents ashes being scattered on the Gigg Lane pitch and that really hit me because they got out of going to Bury games what I get out of going to Bristol City games, and I know how I would feel if I ever lost that so I can really feel their pain.
  19. We are on Sky Sports on Saturday, considering what we went through in 82 surely us as fans should be doing something on the day to show our support for both Bury and Bolton?
  20. Could the parliamentary select committee get involved in this?
  21. I just think had Bolton not of begun the season then they also would have been expelled by now.
  22. **** the EFL! Why were Bolton allowed to start the season but not Bury?
  23. Whatever happened to Bristol South End and Bedminster FC? Your going off subject talking about kit changes and name changes.
