    Am I missing something?

Surely by putting that shelter up, aren't they losing all the standing places on the terracing as it's either covered by the shelter or they won't be able to see because of the shelter? Wouldn't that take the capacity down?

Perhaps they will be marketing the space below as their new covered terrace. Squatting room only.

Seen this this morning and thought....really?

Commercial director Tom Gorringe says no club other than Tottenham Hotspur have done more to improve their ground this summer than Bristol Rovers.

If thats improved infrastructure then we play at the san siro

Read the comments.  Even the sags are laughing at this!

A post from Sagchat, unbelieveable for a so called ‘professional’ football club......

In October 2018 we will be 'remembering' 60 years ago ( North stand 1958) the last time we constructed a stand. This is a record in all 5 divisions and a small celebration will be held in the space of the proposed family stand.

    North stand October 1958 - October 2018  ( 60 years ) .

    They're at it again....all 5 divisions?

Quote from Slagchat today. Seems like they want another tent ?

Doidge scoring for fun today - surely the Harrison and Bodin funds should go towards a marquee signing or are we in for a winter of discontent?

Judging by the state of their ground, they're in for a winter of discount tents.

Why don’t we have an official Joe Payne day then? What a fucking legend!

Not only for scoring 10 against the sags (that is reason enough mind) he also scored 112 goas in only 119 professional matches! His career brought to a premature end by the war.

Hopefully my siblings will see you lot 'go into administration'-  they certainly won't see you in the premier league next season, though you may manage a Wembley play-off heartbreak...

Better dust off your witty motorway bridge banner then.

    What a ******* pr!ck :laughcont:

    Deluded bitter morons.

We are Bristol City from Ashton Gate, our spiritual home of over 100 years. Bristol’s best supported team with attendances that have always been higher than theirs. We’ve played in the top flight. More than a century of League Football, never lost our place in the League Pyramid whilst they’ve spent their ‘proud’ history bumming around Division 3 (or lower :laughcont:) moving from shithole to shithole doing bugger all year after year.

    Well done them

Quite right.  They have the nerve to say we have no history.  We were playing in division 1 and the cup final when they were still grubbing around in the Southern League!

Interesting thread on one of their forums about whether or not they should go bankrupt and start again rising through the leagues like a phoenix and take their rightful place in the Championship as a dept free club.

I know their imagination is amazing isn't it?

Anyway I thought I'd share this post.

We should never 'chose' to bankrupt the Club. It is unethical and screws local businesses. We should never stoop to what the sh*t did in 1982. We remain on the moral high ground in Bristol and it's always good look down on that lot south of the river for their disgusting behaviour. BRFC has been around for 135 years. The sh*t have no history.
However - you raise a valid point. Dwane Sports could sell the Mememorial Stadium and effectively leave BRFC debt-free and homeless. Even I don't think this will happen. I am pretty damn sure that the Bankers who own our Club are well aware of the option. OK - Dwane Sports cut and run. A chance for fan ownership? (Vaughan has some ideas on this).
At this point - pretty sure we would slide down the leagues. We would have to rent somewhere to play. Obviously this is the (unlikely) nightmare scenario.
But - Does it kill the Club? Nope. We become 'like' a phoenix Club... a chance to start again with a clean sheet. Could a Club ever recover from this? Well there are plenty of examples of this happening - Wimbledon being the best. And remember they have a far smaller support base than us.
As long as I have a team to support in north Bristol who play in blue & white quarters and have a proud history going back to 1883 - I can live with that. The UWE was the big one that got away. It was a chance for us to establish ourselves in a higher division. Maybe the UWE numbers never stacked up, we'll never know. FTG.

So they have the moral high ground?

Amazes me how they can blank out so much of their clubs behaviour.

Don't know if it's been brought to anyone's attention but, a letter in tonight's Post, reminds us that Rovers actually beat the Busby Babes, when they were the best team that there has ever been.

A lot of older sags like to bang on about that 50s team  being the best ever in Bristol, totally ignoring our spells in the top flight of course.  #gaslogic

Well they did take around 25k fans to a Wembley Play Off Final....you can’t get more ‘massiver’ than that.....unless your illustrious neighbours take way over 40k fans to a Wembley Tinpot Cup Final....that must have hurt....

No, doesn't hurt. They are in total denial of it!

Support base is massive.  Manchester United. Liverpool. Real Madrid. Barcelona. Definitely. Bristol Rovers support  :rofl2br:. Deluded throughout. They gone bust yet

One day they will break through that 5 figure average crowd barrier.  You heard it here first

Bless. The following is taken from their forum.

Imo- If I was a league 2/ conference footballer, with options to move, I do not see many better clubs than Bristol Rovers.

But even if we agree that Barcelona and the Madrid clubs might not be sending their scouts to the dizzy heights of the conference, I could - without too much effort - find examples of better clubs than the fewers.

Just about the whole of L1 would be a better bet.  Some of them have a real lack of self awareness about their club!

The six big questions facing Bristol Rovers in 2018

When will work begin on the training ground?
What will a redevelopment of the Memorial Stadium look like?
Can the club keep hold of its best players?
Do Rovers have realistic Championship ambitions?
Will Clarke be given money to spend?
    How do Rovers replace Bodin?
