I was chatting to my gas head mate.  I was carefully explaining r****s situation, and the possibility that they might go into administration in the spring, due to the lack of funds by the ownership.  To which he replied, r****s are too big to go into administration. To big a fan base to let that happen.  I said well it happened to Hereford.  To which he replied Hereford!!!!.....we are a much bigger club than Hereford,  He asked me for more examples of clubs that have go into administration and subsequent liquidation only to reform, much lower down the leagues.

I was trying to think: Newport County and Darlington spring to mind.  I would put Moron FC on a par with them.

Tell him that Woolworths went into administration.  I believe they were even bigger than the sags (hard though it is to believe).

Did I hear correctly on Radio Bristol last night that the dog botherer in his interview said that the Roovers were "a sleeping giant" and that their true level was The Championship?!

Really? More like dwarfs in a coma, punching above their weight methinks.

Any rational person looking at their history, crowds, stadium, youth setup etc could only come to one conclusion:  they are a lower division club.

I really don’t understand why the EP & Radio Bristol aren’t all over the deathly silence that is coming out of Horfield, the EP seem more interested in putting out it’s usual weekly nonsense about “Rover’s fantastic fans”

They don't want to dig too deep in case it spoils their cosy relationship with the club.

They think they'd get over 45k crowds in the premier league???!!!!!!! Oh dear, I just spat out my Sauvignon Blanc and laffed loud for (ironically) about 45 seconds! They've never got anywhere near a crowd like that in their history, their record crowd is 38k, which is decent, but that was 57 years ago! The world has changed....they struggle to get 8k or 9k now and they think we are deluded?! As soneone said above, I don't know any City fan who thinks we'd get 45k plus in the Prem....for what it's worth I think we'd average around 24.5k in the Prem....

The expectations of some of their fans is truly mind boggling!  They just don't seem to understand their position at all.  That is that apart from the 1950s they have been a lower division club with just the occasional season or two in the second tier here and there. Somehow they are going to be transformed into one of the top ten clubs in the country leaving us in their wake. Delusional does not begin to describe it!

Radio Bristol phone in post match last night. Sag rings in wants Dopey out, no mention of Dunford ( RIP ) . But chose to  to congratulate Leeds , whilst his own team have just lost to Rochdale. Yet we're obsessed.  #ticktock

We're any of them asking where the Wally gazillions have gone or was the hapless Dopey taking all the flak?

 think he forgot to add "by their standard" - which is anything better than the Go Outdoors* tent stands...

    * Go Outdoors have asked to not be associated with such rubbish, commenting "our tent display will actually survive Storm Brian"

Yes, did I mean "by their standard".   Also that it is the only part of the ground that they could make something of.  The rest needs to be flattened!

They really are up themselves aren't they?  Should be challenging at the top end eh? Why?

Massive fan base hmm as someone else has correctly stated they haven't had a five figure average crowd for 40 years.  Massive potential, an owner who won't spend and the worst ground in the league.  Loyal and patient fans, hardly unique no matter what they may think!

Chairmen up and down the land must be creaming themselves at the prospect of drawing the nation's sixth richest club with their huuuge following!

Forgive my ignorance but how can a rebuild of a ground be self funding? I mean i own a house. If i replace the roof, i pay for it so it's self funding but it has cost me money.

They've discovered a magic money tree growing behind the tent end.
