  1. Yeah it makes sense that "bad" words are not broadcast when kids are listening. The Cardi B example above is poor (I get it's a joke) as there is a radio edit that is played.
  2. Yes that's way too simplistic. It's pretty clear it's the older generation that's offended by everything. In the context of the song, the word is fine. But it is a homophobic slur. Radio 1 is aimed at kids and young people. It makes perfect sense to edit out swear words and racial/homophobic slurs. Nobody was offended that they edited words out of Killing in the Name when it was Christmas number 1. Why is it so offensive to edit a word out of a different song? Radio 2 and 6 will be playing it in full. And you can always buy/stream it if you really want to hear that word.
  3. The easily offended have gone a little insane over this. One radio station is going to edit out a word and the usual snowflakes are up in arms, even though they never listen to that radio station. Weird.
  4. It's not football but still pretty damn cool.
  5. I don't have the skills, but would be great if it could be colourised. You're right though, it's a great quality image. Horrible to think that so soon after that photo their whole world was going to go up in flames.
  6. There's a Twitter account called "Know Your Place Bristol", it posts lots of interesting photos and information about the history of our glorious city. This just popped up and I think it deserves a thread on here!
  7. FAKE NEWS. I would have won last night but my winnings were stolen by thousands of dead people buying tickets.
  8. This year cannot **** off quick enough.
  9. I've never watched it, but I think they have a few series of it on Netflix.
  10. I've heard that theory before. I like to think it's true.
  11. Yeah, being former FA Cup winners would be amazing. Just being able to say that would put us on a par with the likes of Old Carthusians.
  12. Haha, I'm only messing around. I'm not sure winning the FA Cup would have made much difference. We'd have different shaped corner flags and some bragging rights, but there's plenty of clubs that won the FA Cup in the early days and went on to do nothing.
  13. If only somebody had already mentioned that....
  14. Sandy Turnbull gets found guilty of match fixing 6 years early. Bristol City win the FA Cup and the prestige allows them to build a dynasty....
  15. I'm bored so looked up what was number one on the day the Gap was born. "Stomp" by Steps. Just like Bristol Rovers, an obscure heap of crap that nobody else in the country even remembers existing.
  16. A lot of people think things have gotten worse since the end of the 20th century. But the Gap is always there to prove the 21st century has its upsides.
  17. The real celebration (pandemic permitting) will be next year when The Gap is old enough to go to Las Vegas for drinks.

It's definitely worth going back to the interviews they've done with old players and managers. Some fantastic stuff to listen to there.
  19. You're the Batman, I'm sure you have a cinema at Wayne Manor....
  20. According to Wikipedia, No Time To Die had a budget of $250million. I guess they'll want to make a profit, so it'd cost a streaming service at least $300million? I don't know how much Amazon paid for Borat 2, but that would have been a much lower budget film. If Netflix/Apple/Amazon pay for Bond, it's hard to see how they'd ever make their money back.
  21. Dunno how accurate this is (probably not very) but I really hope Netflix gets it.
  22. I think it'd end up being bad for everyone not involved. But my immediate reaction is "good, just **** off and leave the rest of us alone"
  23. If ever you needed more proof of just how much the Gas is in the hearts and minds of the people of Bristol, it’s this. The Gas getting relegated is on par as winning a major European trophy. #gaslogic
