Does he know nothing about management?  Working 7to 7 is nothing to boast about.  Evidence suggests a better life balance leads to better management. There is nothing meritorious in working long hours per se.

I don't think we are talking about not understanding management here. What he totally lacks is any of the traits of a leader. Something Nige had and understood. I don't think Liam has studied leadership, too busy working on the grass.

Fact is the whole club has overlooked the importance of leadership. We have absent people at the top and incompetent people below them in this regard. We are truly rudderless and it will catch up with us next season if nothing changes.

  2. Just look at the players we sign to understand why it is so boring to be a City fan. When did we last splash any cash on an exciting young goal scoring striker?

Last time I can recall a signing anything like that was Famara. OK he wasn't a world beater but at least the anticipation was there he might be another Kodjia.

Fact is Steve won't spend the money and wages required to get these kind of players in. The plan is to get them cheap from the academy. No ambition, no exciting new strikers to get you off your seat. All stems from Lansdown I'm afraid.

Came into a Lansdown inspired shit-show, as they waxed lyrical about our top 6 squad and results here and now. The most poisonous poisoned chalice. My first real assessment of him will come around November time after he’s had a summer and a few months of 24/25. If we’re looking rubbish, change it then.

So you're happy for him to bring in more players he thinks have the qualities we need - like Mebude?

He’s not getting on the pitch again, is he?

What a January signing he was.

At least he's actually at the club, unlike most of them.

This club won’t ever progress until it stops getting signings wrong.  Signing Mehmeti and McCrorie for over £3m when you don’t have much money is ridiculous

I'm fed up with people saying McCrorie is only shit due to being out injured. To me he sums up what you get signing average players from the scottish league. He has no redeeming features on the pitch, despite apparently being a 'good lad'.

I was party to a conversation with the largest medical insurance company in the US last week who I’m told are in advanced stages for building a large office site near Long Ashton. This company already has a large presence in Bristol and money is no object to get the development they require - I dont want to name the company but part of their development is to have their own rail line & station/platform by the site. This will have a rail link to Bristol Airport also.

obviously funding will not be an issue for this company but it will be interesting to see how planners receive this in the planning stages, how many dog walkers are against it and where AG and the whole expansion of the area is integrated with so much private investment

I wonder if this US company fancy buying a football club as well 😂

The office development is planned for completion by 2028/29

So, they obviously see big profits for private medical insurance in future here then. Wonder who they've been lobbying in parliament .

How many sides in the prem, champ play with two strikers from the off currently?  Can’t be many if any?  Even league one and two days of sides playing with two strikers are diminishing.

Yeah but if you are a striker will you be happy to join the club when you are unlikely to start very often.

What confuses me is that managers will throw on three attackers in the last twenty minutes if they are losing. I find it frustrating that modern coaches seem to think it makes sense to play negative for most of the game, then go for it when that results in losing.

Just wish the emphasis was more on attacking, scoring goals and creating an entertaining game of football. Rather than a chess game finishing with ten minutes of caution to the wind when you've been out-thought.

Really like Foden but what shocked me when he played against us was how fast he was. Knew he was quick but not as fast as he was that night.

I didn't get the fuss about Foden until I saw him play live at AG. His movement and speed of thought were so impressive. Totally changed my view of him and has made me realise just how different it is just seeing them on TV.

We were in same hotel as him and team, quoted to us, everything was ok 3 weeks ago!

Makes me wonder if some of the players have since been told they won't be staying and things have gone tits up in the dressing room.

I quite like him but it’s a very obvious thing that he does often - and to be fair he does it at pace, but it does narrow the game and cede the flanks

He starts off with pace, runs into a defender and falls over. Like clockwork. Hardly ever gets given the foul he seems to be looking for.
