  1. Sorry but from tonight and his Hull appearance I think it is pretty clear Engvall is nowhere near Kodjia level. I can see why LJ is reluctant to play him.
  2. Wilbs much more effective as a last 30 min sub for me. Hasn't really had much impact when starting. Think it might be a bit of a slog but hope it works out coyr.
  3. I hope not as he is our main source of inspiration going forward. Imho we shouldn't be dropping him for home games.
  4. I'm worried about our defence. Only Blackburn and Forest have, like us, failed to keep a clean sheet in the league. We seem to be going in the wrong direction in that we were only conceding once in early games. Hopefully Derby won't click today and we can actually play for 90 mins rather than the usual one good/one bad half. I fear the collapse at Sheff may leave us with a confidence problem. If we get ahead that will help. Fearing the worst today but hope to be proved wrong.
  5. Isn't that what we were saying this time last season? Nothing seems to change much with city. Too many false dawns.
  6. I do believe I read that this is done by the EFL deliberately. Their logic being that these long trips result in the lowest away following, even on a Saturday. So by putting them mid-week you lose less money and inconvenience less supporters. If you had say 3k ready to go to Fulham that may drop to 800 if you make it mid-week. There is some logic there when you think about it I guess. Not good for those who will go regardless though.
  7. Hasn't Tomlin himself said he prefers to play wide with freedom to drift infield?
  8. I recall one poster being so confident we would win at Fulham that he/she planned to put their total profit from this season's bets on city. Would be interested to hear if you actually went through with it and whether you would do the same today.
  9. Getting a bit fed up of BHA just constantly attacking ZV. Feels a bit like schoolyard bullying. Would be kinder (and better for the team) to sub him for Waggy or Little, if fit , at HT. Might hit him hard though so difficult call for LJ. I don't think we had a serious chance that half, despite the possession.
  10. I don't like these long running stats being quoted as they so often get broken in this league. Probably just perception but whenever I hear 'they haven't won here for 30-odd years' quoted by a commentator it seems 'they' go on to win. Something about the unpredictable nature of the Championship. I too would predict a draw. As most of us are thinking this I am suspecting it won't happen though.
  11. Six points against Charlton and MKD and we will be feeling confident. Four points - not bad. Less than that and I fear for our chances of getting out of this hole. Oh for a striker who can finish.
  12. Is Pearce a leftie then? Thought Williams was our only other left-sided CB.
  13. I see Steve Evans is the latest opposing manager to say we should be in the top half of the table with our squad. Do you think they come out with this because a) they genuinely believe it b) it puts more pressure on us c) it gives them an excuse if they don't win Always feel myself it is a bad tactic to talk up the opposition.
  14. Don't think we really got going. Two good games in a row have been hard to achieve recently. AG sounded very quiet in the second half on TV which wasn't surprising given our lack of chances. I thought Reid showed why SC wouldn't pick him - too easily knocked off the ball. Wilbs wasn't in the game. Neither of our FBs were good enough and Waggy showed his lack of sharpness. Pack, Burns and Flint played well and young Max did nothing wrong. Hope we were saving ourselves for Leeds.
  15. Oh dear. Even money current favourite with Sky Bet didn't even get on this list. Hope the OP knows better than the punters betting on Pearce.
  16. Anyone know what formation we are playing? Is it 4-2-3-1 which is what was hinted at earlier?
  17. I thought Wes gave us plenty of evidence on Saturday as to why he should be getting a chance, at the very least, to show what he can do in the last 20 minutes. It really annoys me that SC does very little to influence any game by his use of subs. It is almost as if the bench is just an afterthought and not part of his plan for the game. Way behind what you see from most other managers frankly.
  18. Not sure what number Burnley will rack up but I certainly expect ours to be a big fat 0.
  19. Charlton were two up at Brighton after 20 minutes so will be no pushover. Hope we aren't complacent and start well today. Coyr!
  20. Thought QPR looked poor - in the first half particularly. We need to be winning games like this. Especially when Rotherham are starting to win at home. At least we didn't lose though.
