We played 45 minutes with 10!
Mehmeti was on longer than that.

It's just like the LJ days. Some promising results then abysmal. Few buzz words as well to throw in
Plus, the more time LJ had on the training pitch the worse we got. Practically guaranteed to lose after every international break. Worrying similarities appearing.

My biggest worry with Manning, is I don't trust him to make the right decision on who to select from a squad that is nearing full fitness...apart from now Bell and Atkinson.
I have the same worry. Rather like LJ, overthinks it. Johnson's best runs were when we were down to the bare bones and he had to ditch the tombola. I fear Liam may suffer from the same affliction and disappear up his own ass trying to be too clever.

Felt for this guy. Could it be overwhelming nerves, I don't know, but his brain just looked scrambled after a couple of minutes so could've been the realisation that he had to produce as the pressure was on, bit different to being two three nil up.
Surely anxiety must've overtaken him to look that bad, how else do you explain some of the decisions he was making. There will be some players out there that will never be able to deal with the pressure of playing in front of a large amount of people, musicians call it stage fright.
Just watched his 22/23 season highlights. Like people say it's just kids/teenagers football so you can't really tell, but he does look as though he's got something about him!
I thought the kid looked really nervous and unsure what to do. Won't help playing in a team that is getting boos at the end I suspect.

I'd rather we made it to the play offs as it would prove how close we are and help attract new players. I don't think we are ready to go up but it would add some excitement to the end of this season.
I think we'll finish 8-11th though.

Great cameo. Anyone think he didn’t look as tall as they were expecting though? Wikipedia says he’s 6’ 2’’ but he definitely isn’t.
Hard to tell when you are watching on TV. Looks promising. Physically he reminded me of Bobby Reid before he built himself up.

Let's hope Liam can also work out how to beat teams that sit back and let us have the ball. If he can then that would be a clear improvement on what NP left him.

Fantastic pass and well taken goal.
This is City at their imperial best
Gotta say that McCrorie showed a bit of class with that ball.

He needs to pass the bloody ball, greedy little shit
Williams made a nice overlap but Mehmeti just seems to be on planet Anis.

Interesting how everyone agrees we need to rotate and rest players but is happy that Vyner and Dickie play every game. Don't CBs get tired too. Smacks of discrimination to me.

When cornick plays like that It does make me wounder if he is just a confidence player and needs games sometimes with a run in the side a player can look totally different
Let's not get too carried away by one decent half from Cornick. It was a lot better than we usually see from him, granted. I was still hunting in vain for the donkey emoji to add to a comment about him on the matchday thread a couple of times yesterday.

I still think McCrorie is part of the reason that Manning has brought the back 3 idea back. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't we win three on the trot with a back 4, but then after those disappointing Birmingham and Millwall games where we couldn't create chances, he turned to the back 3? This also coincided with McCrorie coming back into the squad. Pring and McCrorie are very capable of the wing back role and its got to be tempting to play them further up. You also get to keep Tanner, who is very good at defending, in a defensive role. Just as Nige tried the back 3 based on available personnel, I think Manning is too. Continuing this theme, my suspicion is that Sykes coming in will see us stick with a 433 and see Tanner somewhat harshly miss out, but we will see.
I've never been a fan of a back 3, but I'm pretty agnostic about whether it is a factor in our success/failure. Players should be able to adapt and manage either situation.
I had the same feeling about LM seeing McCrorie being the catalyst for switching to WBs. Trouble is, I don't think he is worth changing the whole defence to fit in. Pretty underwhelmed by him so far.

Fast getting to the point where I throw something at the TV when LM reverts to three at the back. How much evidence does he need to see it doesn't suit these players? Gotta take on board what's staring us all in the face eventually I hope.

Is it just me with no audio on RTV?

It's hard enough for refs choosing between red and yellow cards. Add a third and it gets even more subjective and harder to decide which is the appropriate choice. Whatever the rules it is still down to a ref's judgement. I'd rather they left it as it is.

RB saying we are playing four at the back. And sounding much better. Take the hint Manning!

Is the game on TV? Managed to watch the home leg on one of the ESPN channels but have yet to find any channel showing the replay.

As it stands and we can debate the theory….LM is devaluing Conway to the external market and devaluing his use to Bristol City.
The true definition of a shit sandwich.
If Tommy can score a winner on Wed I think we can stop worrying about that. What he's done in the cup is no doubt raising his profile and adding evidence he could get goals in the PL.

You realise McCrorie has only recently come back from a potential career ending injury/medical issue? Give the guy a break, he has actually looked pretty decent but isn’t going to be anywhere near his best for another month or so i doubt, when he can actually complete 90 minutes.
Is it lack of fitness that causes him to cut inside, run into players and fall over? Cause that has been his standard move as far as I can see so far. Won't attempt to beat a man down the outside and has one trick which is to back in and spin with the ball to get past his man. Seen him try that numerous times now. A bit like Mehmeti: a trick that soon gets spotted and the oppo will know what's coming before long.
-
We are crap with a back 3. Results only improved under NP when he switched to four. We now have McCrorie to play RWB and didn't really have an obvious choice before. However, from what I've seen so far he is yet another SPL player who's totally out of his depth at this level.

When we're buying players we could really use now, but loaning em back to their clubs for the rest of this season - it just says to me we think we're safe and we've written this season off from any achievement perspective and we're planning for next season.
If I was a player I'd be thinking the same thing. Hardly helping to inspire them I would imagine.

Looks as though it will just be bird, who we won’t have until next season, be a pretty rubbish window if that’s all we do tonight.
Where is the info about Bird being loaned back coming from? Haven't seen any announcement yet - does Robbored have copyright on this sort of comment btw?

So, are we bottom of the top half, or top of the bottom half?
I feel it is the latter myself. Not good enough to push towards the top six but unlikely to slip into trouble.

****in joke if he’s injured. Past couple years it seems whenever we sign someone they get injured straight away
I'm sure Bournemouth fans feel the same way about signing players from us.

He may be a great guy but McCrorie isn't up to much on the pitch.
