  1. The oddschecker site is tipping us from an upset (along with Donny): Super Sunday FA Cup Acca Ryan Elliott | 09:53 Friday 15th February 2019 We've gone for a pair of upsets with this 27/1 monster double! Bristol City v Wolves - 13:00 We only have three FA Cup matches on Sunday, and I genuinely do believe it’ll be a special weekend of upsets – this FA Cup double, while bold, might be worth a gander… Bristol City, who are on an incredible nine-match winning streak,
  2. Feels like we rode our luck, but another 3 points is all that matters. Bering on Wolves!
  3. Mr P - a couple of question for you if I may: - Could some of the clubs who may be in trouble with FFP avoid punishment by having a January firesale (I can see that Villa are not planning to do that but maybe Brum)? - If a club was to get punished under FFP would they then start with a blank sheet of paper or could they risk being punished next season as well?
  4. Agree that the Football League need to make an example of someone, with punishment now rather than years down the line (a la QPR). As Villa had 20 seasons in the Prem before they came down, I'm assuming they would have started with a blank sheet of paper and 0 losses. I'm guessing the temptation was to put all those losses into the first 2 seasons and gamble on going straight back up. They really should be able to get back up without having to break the rules as they are the biggest club in the division. I read a prediction on Sky the other day that Man City could be banned from ne
  5. Seems like they owe lots of people money: https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/wanderers/16101222._quot_If_we_had_to_pay_them_all_right_now__this_moment__we_could_quot____Ken_talks_hard_debt_at_Wanderers/ I suspect it's probably like the Coventry situation with owners who are looking to cash in rather invest in the club. They might as well go into administration as relegation looks highly likely anyway.
  6. Not a vintage game but another win and another clean sheet.
  7. I was very pleased to get socks for Christmas as all my current ones have holes in them... Tough to listen to but 3 points is 3 points. Let's hope Santa Steve has a striker lined up for 1st Jan!
  8. Great first half. Need to keep it up and we have a chance for all 3 points
  9. Well done lads! Pretty nerve shredding and rode our luck a bit but a fantastic result!
  10. Curious about the Billericay Town one as Billericay is not on a river let alone the sea!
  11. Ummm.... this is embarrassing. I have been going since 1988 and have always heard it as "calling". Thanks for putting me right.
  12. I'm taking my partner's nephews from New Zealand to the Reading game on Saturday and want to explain to them about the singing. Could someone come up with a good way to explain this song to them. Thanks
  13. I agree with Loon that we have to be prepared that the Gas might reach the Championship (if only briefly). It's not just about money but about competence. It's hard for this guy to do much worse than the last Rovers board. If you look at attendances: Rovers are currently getting 7.5k in league 2, which is 4th. The way FFP works, it's not suprising to see them doing reasonably well. If they got to League 1, they might go up to 9k. This would put them 5th as there are still a lot of small clubs in that division and give them a reasonable chance of doing well. If th
  14. Disappointing to throw away a lead but still 5 games unbeaten. Still 5 points clear of the bottom 4 with one more game gone.
  15. One slightly weird thing this season is that so far we have played 6 teams twice in the league and out of that have 3 double defeats (Brent, Wolves, Cov), 2 double draws (MK, bradford) and 1 double win (Carlisle). So if this pattern continues it'll be a draw. I'll go 2-2 One thing today is Sheff U and Shrews are playing each other so if we lose are definitely back in the bottom 4 :-(
  16. Not time to throw in the towel just yet guys. We are quite good at getting results from behind - just annoying we have to go behind for the team to wake up.
  17. SC has 9 points from 7 games (2w,3d,2l. That's 1.28 per game, Carry on like that and we'll get another 26 points to get us to 50 points in total. In 4 out of the last 5 seasons that has been enough (in the other a team went down on goal difference with 50 points). We have 20 games left and still have to play all of our relegation rivals a second time from Gills in 14th downwards. These are going to be the really key games starting with Carlisle next week, rather than away games against the like of Wolves and B'ford which are rivals will probably lose as well.
  18. Really don't see the harm of this signing. Wonder whether Cotterill will play him up front with JET and drop Baldock to the bench.
  19. Well done City. Not a vintage performance by the sounds of it but an all important 3 points. Sounds like Osborne made a difference - hope we can sign him up in jan
  20. COME ON!!!! Don't f it up this time. Pleaseeeeee
