  1. No I am an arsehole and this was what I had heard before the back stuff. I have always said NP was fine at a lot of things. I think he was appointed for the sole purpose of stabilising the club. He did his job but I don’t think there was ever the intention to get sorted out and give him a new deal and money to spend. He never convinced me on a match day and gets far too much credit imo for the wage budget and playing youth. Those were absolutely necessary whether it was Dean Holden, Lee Johnson, Nigel Pearson or Pep Guardiola. I am honestly not frustrated. Today was enjoyable while being frustrated we lost a game we were convincingly better in. Yet the NP bias is still so rampant we can’t get a glimmer of positivity. As far as credibility and all that, I really don’t care. I have my opinions and will argue them. This place used to be good for that but is awfully cliquy now. You have to follow others for “credibility”
  2. I was there. If they look like rabbits in headlights dominating games I can’t wait for when he gets some players back. He has had 4 games to implement a style. Something we did not have under NP. Writing him off after 4 tough games just shows this is an emotional response from you. QPR had new manager bounce and Manning had 2 training sessions. Boro have been flying up the table. Southampton also flying up the table with probably 4-5 times the wage budget and took a wonder strike to beat us. Today we dominated the game and individual errors cost us. Something NP bemoaned plenty in his time here and didn’t really cut out either. Why because I am not with all you withered dinosaurs? NP had patience. He rewarded us with consecutive bottom half finishes. Cheers nige. Bloke couldn’t be bothered to go to training Monday through Wednesday but let’s give him a new deal. Oh he isn’t a coach he is a manager. What did he do then? Didn’t implement a style, didn’t coach anyone, said he don’t deal with agents so what good was he? Then wanted cause discourse throughout the club because he couldn’t work through the contract he had. Had to be a stubborn old man and be given something he didn't deserve
  3. I don’t get that impression in the slightest. Everyone looks motivated and ready to go to me.
  4. Tired of the moaning about a bloke on the way out of the game who was bang average. You lot still show up every week. Stay home you don’t like the way it is being run. Nope everyone still showing up. No one organising protests. NOTHING! All talk no action. You lot are only happy when you are unhappy. Try embracing the change and appreciate the better football. You lot have Holden more patience. Embarrassing
  5. What situation? Beating boro? Pushing a relegated prem team close in their ground? Dominating another pp team and losing unluckily? This forum is embarrassing. Like the great love of your life is gone. Pearson was bang average and never taking us anywhere. Don’t like it get couple hundred million together and buy the club. Baffling the support he got for finishing 14th. With Weimann’s best ever season. A 12m quid striker and a 25m midfielder as well. We will see what NP next job is but it won’t be better than city. He is on the way out of the game. Why would he get a new deal?
  6. It is like the 4-5th game and half of our attacking options are L1 standard. It is building for the future. A good style of play will help atmosphere, recruitment and eventually points.
  7. Yes would be opinion but I have come away from AG too many times to see 3 shots and 0 on target in recent years. It was not that today. For me performance was there. They had one moment of quality for the first goal and the OG happens 1 in 50 or something. Vyner switched off and got bullied which isn’t acceptable.
  8. i get that but you can’t argue the quality isn’t there. The pass for the OG was special. Idah physically in a different realm to anything we have. They had moments today that we just aren’t able to produce at the minute. See above about Norwich. We didn’t win very often with 40% possession neither. We have reset whether agree with it or not. There are already signs that the style will see us create more. You named their chances. Now name ours. We had plenty to be looking at 3 or more. We are more aggressive in the final third and I am enjoying it.
  9. We lack quality up front for sure. I argued that in the summer. Wells will help and Mcrorie could be the answer at rb. And if Vyner continues to switch off he will have Atkinson soon looking to come in. Still think we need another who can play anywhere across the front 3. JL needs a reality check if he honestly believes we can stand still in the market. No one can afford to do that. I just think the patterns of play have gotten better. We have gotten more patient and composed in possession. All in the span of a month with games usually every 3-4 games.
  10. Yep I think it is evolving into something good while not being a finished product. Yes we lost but usually Norwich come in here to dominate the ball and chances. Today, we did that. 60% possession with 15 shots with 6 on target according to LiveScore. We rarely do that at home and even more rare to a team with quality that Norwich have. We lost but I actually feel like we have a future again. Not just a % side who wants to keep it tight and play for set pieces.
  11. I’m here for serious conversations mate. Go have a nap and come back later.
  12. Looked pretty clear Weimann was asked to get closer to Conway in attack which is why he was tucked in so much. Looked like our cms were asked to spread wide with the ball to create overloads out wide. Those are two tweaks off the top of the head without thinking too much. We were comfortable the entire game. Unlucky OG which is dealt with probably more often than not. And Vyner switched off once after 94.5 minutes. Otherwise comfortable. They had the quality to punish us. We don’t have that quality which is why they were in the game at all.
  13. No I don’t think we do either but also not sure we take the game to them like we did for large spells under NP. We are evolving now to a more modern style of play with clear instruction.
  14. Not really upset with today. Thought we outplayed them. They were gonna get chances because they have good players. Our lack of quality up front cost us again. Thought decisions from Manning were odd too. Taking Sykes off was weird. Hickman off instead of James. Not that James was poor but I’d rather have had Hickman running the game in the end as he has the ability to take a touch or dribble in tight spaces. Mehmeti on but on the right. Maybe better defensive cover but he didn’t look super comfortable out there. All in all good performance for me. Wells, McRorie and Atkinson will help big time. Plus maybe one or two in January to come in and I think with some luck we can push the top6.
  15. No i am arguing they lied about money available. We most certainly have money to spend ffp wise. Not advocating maxing it just that there is room after the scott sale and covid years dropping off. One forward player was a must as well as those we brought in. The options are okay if the goal is to be a plucky championship side who can beat anyone but fall short over a season. One catalyst can make the difference in these cases. I think we need to attack that area of the team until we find that one special player. Doesn’t mean sign 8 attackers. Means get one in like Mehmeti and see if the step can be made or keep an eye out for someone who has fallen through the cracks for whatever reason like Whittaker. No guarantee with any transfer but until we find a 20 goal involvements player we can rely on, we won’t be a top 6 side. Which is what they say they want. So what they say and what they do are two different things I know. We’ll find out how serious or deluded they are in January. However Manning mentioning it gives me hope.
  16. We said we had a budget. We didn’t want to back Pearson for whatever reason. We’ll all see that in the coming windows I am sure. If they still spout lack of money in the coming windows then we know the promotion talk is just that. As far as fees I thought I read it was closer to 2m upfront but that said 6-7m and say an average of 15k a week was easily affordable. If you are going to spend, do it on goals imo. Creating or finishing. Truth is we relied far too heavily on existing options. We needed one more option at the time. I preferred a left footed right winger with pace and skill during the summer to add to the options. We still need that imo
  17. Few of us got stick on here about saying we needed forwards in the summer. Was happy with the central 2 in Wells and Conway. Conway been real poor and while I think Wells improves us, it won’t be to competing in the top 10 type levels. Sykes I really like. Can score and is creative. Can also beat a man with his agility and has a few tricks. You’d want better long term but they cost and he is the last one needing replaced imo. Mehmeti it just isn’t happening for. Think the ability is there but unfortunately it might be the size and athleticism that holds him back at this level. Maybe centrally(behind the striker)he can do something but that would last chance. Might be games he can get at a less athletic rb but they are a bit rare nowadays. Weimann older and been through plenty of injuries was always going to slow down. Never been that good technically and now that he has lost a step the level seems too much. Good servant but luckily we can let him walk at seasons end. Not sure he is a capable squad player anymore and another year not going to help his case. Cornick is what he is. Happy to chuck him on off the bench but that’s about it. Bit of a waste but you need experience too. Bell I just don’t see it. He isn’t pacy for the league. He looks pacy because we are so slow. Good finisher but can’t go past anyone and can’t cross. Lower league player imo. Yeboah has real pace. Works hard but team raw and doesn’t look technically very good. Like to see him as an impact sub some more but has a lot of work to do to be a future player at this level. You could say loan but I’d probably play him over one or two mentioned above. See if he develops here. Benarous may have ended up being similar to Mehmeti. Ability but smaller than you like and not super quick. More aggressive than Mehmeti though. Not sure we can expect much after the injuries he has had All in all, we need to hit the forward line hard over the next few windows. Hated seeing players like Whittaker and Philogene go for relatively low fees when we had the funds to compete for their signatures. Not even sure wages would have been a big problem on them two. Maybe higher earners but not sure structure breaking.
  18. Because sacking a manager is big news with lots of opinions.
  19. I really don’t get the fascination with it all. Logically, even if Bristol Sport employees signed up to the forum, couldn’t it just be they had an opinion on big news in their workplace? Could be non football fans but found themselves in a job at BS and started following City, Bears and Flyers and has gotten into it. Don’t many of you follow your work place on social media? So they come here to express actual opinions and get bullied off of the forum. Not very fair to fellow city fans. Maybe it was some sort of ploy by hierarchy but surely more likely just normal people wanting to discuss a hobby?
  20. 2 goals and 3 clean sheets out of the last 5 matches I think. Has been the driving force in keeping us in the top half mix. Not as good but best cb we have had since Webster by quite a margin imo. Also that isn’t saying too much either but has been a real bargain.
  21. Disappointed it doesn’t look like he can play the lone striker role which a lot of smaller players have found ways to do over the years. He is young but not young enough to not being able to compete from a strength standpoint. The things he is good at, we have not played in a way to get those good things out of him. Not sure there is a fix. He could play off the left but wasting him to an extent and he’d probably have similar problems to Bell in that he can’t really go past anyone 1v1. Most teams don’t really set up with two strikers unless with a 3 at the back. He could play behind Wells but then still missing a central creator. It is entirely possible that he isn’t quite the player we thought he was going to be. Not that he is awful or can’t turn this around. We have seen players develop at different rates. Just we needed a big season from him and he hasn’t been able to deliver so far.
  22. Thats my fault mate. Don’t mind them. Just a differing of opinions but some of the, lets say more experienced posters, will bring up where you were born as a way to try and make themselves look more credible. Not most but a few
  23. Baseball, basketball, american football, football you name it I watch it. Idk what my nationality ever has to do with it but gets brought up enough. Probably the insecurities of old blokes who have only ever gone as far as Benidorm or only deviate from football when the darts are on and yea uncle ain’t a bad footballer I’d probably listen to his opinions over 99% of this forum
  24. He has had realistically 2 days on the training ground mostly learning names of not just players and coaches but probably secretaries, assistants and others. Yet we have a large portion of the fan base so hung up on the past that they can’t get on board with what is here now. The handling of Pearson was pretty poor from the summer on. I said in March or April, the Scott sale on the horizon, that either extend him or sack him. No god could come from keeping him and not extending him. We can’t change our chairmen, owner and all that. No I wasn’t a fan on NP and his football but it wasn’t ideal how it all went down.
  25. 3 clean sheets under Pearson this season 1 under Fleming 1 under Manning Onwards and upward. COYR UTC Progress
