    Tony Thorpe

Was my favourite City player when I started watching. It always felt like we failed to replace him for a decent while after.

Delighted with.this news. Saw some guy saying on twitter that he wasn't that good and they preferred Frankie though...opinions eh?
  3. I did laugh when they brought Windass out in front of our lot at half time to recreate his goal as part of a 'competition'. Good banter between us and him too.
  4. If the league was so poor then how did A) they produce such good players in the first place B) see Aberdeen, rangers and Celtic find success or challenge in Europe - sometimes beating English teams.
  5. Celtic and Rangers both reached UEFA cup finals in the 00s as well. The league in my opinion has collapsed since Rangers folded and they no longer have the ability to attract good foreign players as even low premier League teams can pay more in wages.
  6. Rubbish. Strachan played his first 10 years in Scotland in a great Aberdeen side. McCoist spent 90% of his career with Rangers in a team that did well in Europe. Nicholas played some of his best football at Celtic either side of a Arsenal stint. Daglish was a great player at Celtic for years BEFORE moving to Liverpool. How you can be so arrogant about a subject that by your own emissions you don't care about...
  7. Their national team wasnt always as crap, it is currently a shambles. They used to produce top quality players (Strachan, Daglish, Souness, Nicholas, McCoist) and it was a two horse race then so something else must be the factor behind that.
  8. Whilst collecting a very high wage if I remember. When he did play he didn't show the quality that was promised.
  9. We brought in a certain Gary O'Neill a few years ago because he had the right mentality and experience and I wasn't a massive fan of how that turned out.
  10. You would never see this at Leeds, Newcastle or a lot of other clubs. But I'm sure they all had good excuses...
  11. Some of the comments on here, jesus. He completely opened up Sheffield United when he came on against them. Changed the game versus Bolton and scored against Wigan. The most consistent player? Probably not. But a show pony? Ridiculous given he has shown us he can change games. Remember he is only 22.
  12. Bannan is what we need: great final ball, drives the team forward and looks to shoot. Pack: out of form, tired and so many mistakes today. Losing the ball and misplaced passes. We need to sign someone similar to Bannan in the summer.
  13. Would rather Leeds gain automatic as we would get hammered by them in a play off game.
  14. Ugly city with a horrible city centre, a lack of culture and shit pubs. Also THAT accent.
