  1. Not by me he isn’t. The man is a buffoon when it comes to football. He has absolutely no interest in BCFC other than what he can get out of it. Many will talk about how grateful we must be and to be careful what we wish for. Bollocks. All Lansdown has done is create a long term legacy for himself and his family built on freeholds in BS3. Once where the football club owned its own ground and where fans were able to have a financial interest in their club we now have a situation where an ultimate beneficial owner who lives offshore to mitigate his tax owns all he can see - through a multitude of layered companies. But hey. We can sit in comfort. We can pay nearly £6 for a pint of cider. Or nearly a fiver for a pie. **** me I paid an arm and a leg for 3 Killers tickets… Kerching Mr Lansdown. You’ve got your hands firmly on the cash cow’s udders and bugger me are you squeezing on her teats. Meanwhile we’ve got Capn Dan still lumping it forward. Christ alive. What an absolute shambles. Bet HL isn’t run like this….
  2. If we didn’t have him, and his goals, where would we be? Relegation zone anyone? Like many others out there today and for more months than I care to remember he isn’t good enough for a progressive, footballing side. But then out of that shower of shit who is? All very well prancing about to One Step Beyond and mutual back slapping. All very well singing about how much we all love Capn Dan and him shaking his head in disbelief at the end of 90 minutes. Fact of the matter as far as I can see is we were lucky. And poor. And unless Stevie L backs Big Nige we're going to be in for many more seasons of football like that. The monkey might be off our backs tonight but the ****** is still up the tree, looking down and grinning. ?
  3. Get that tub of Haribo out. A home win. Just. Still woefully poor football. Can’t remember the last time I saw such jubilation at home at the final whistle. Oh hang on. Man Utd in the cup. More fun filled football from the Lansdown House of Horrors. ?
  4. My take on it is this: Nice guys rarely succeed. They haven’t here. We need nasty bastards. These 2, along with Holden, should never have replaced LJ. LJ himself outstayed his welcome or ability. Ashton should never have been here in the first place. Watching him and LJ turn up at Brentford a few seasons back - suited and brown shoe’d and all teeth told me everything I needed to know. We’ve been to cosy for far too long. No ambition. No passion. No drive. No ******* clue. Wonder why? Someone hasn’t wanted “it” I’d say….. And how are the Bears doing? Nige - if allowed to - will make the difference. ??
  5. How about this? From Bristol’s finest? Get your scooters and surfboards at the ready! Granary before it became flats and a fishy restaurant. **** me how long ago? Seems like only yesterday….. ?
  6. I’m a gardener - now! Spent all day on my hands and knees. Surface Pro later. Got a spreadsheet to update and invoices to do! ?
  7. Data analysts. Business analysts. All about simply gathering data and chucking it in whatever business tool you choose to use. Dare I say that anyone with time on their hands and a laptop could do it? If they’re so inclined. My old dad was a fan of Quicken when he used to get his old photocopied newsletters from HL all those years ago. Christ did he go on and ******* on about his analysis of his spending. **** me he sometimes did a ******* pie chart ? Now we have analysts measuring all manner of data. During 90 minutes of fun. Only analysis I do is look at the scoreboard and league table. Tells me all I need to know. Don’t care about who’s done what how many times and how far they’ve run. All counts for nothing if Capn Dan is lumping it forward and it keeps coming back….. Now anyway I wonder what Mr L’s been thinking up today……. ?
  8. **** me. If I wanted to be impressed by a brand new ground, training facilities and any other etcs - like what? - I’d have gone elsewhere. Seems like you are easily pleased. Style over substance? Carry on. We’ve gone backwards in the sense of not realising potential and making piss poor decisions and allowed those to define us. Watched MOTD this morning. Southampton. Leeds. Wolves. Barnsley. BHA. Once our peers. Now? And losses on the bounce to Bournemouth, Forest and WBA. With no passion or clue. Again once our peers…. And you want to quote mid Championship league positions over the past 20 years as being progress? And I’m delighted you recall my belief that the emperor is indeed naked. Stark bollock. Here’s another. All that glistens isn’t gold. Unless of course you’re the UBO of a multi-layered company that has set up a model that’s resulted in a massive investment in freeholds that will ensure his gold will always glisten. Meantime we can look forward to Haze at nearly £6 a pint and tepid pies for £4…..
  9. Here we go…. The man who spouted similar nonsense a week or so ago after the Bournemouth defeat. Defended that by banging on about parachute payments….. How did you see the Forest game through your rose tinted glasses? Lansdown has absolutely no interest in BCFC. His only concern interest is in making money and seeing a return on his not inconsiderable investment. Under his involvement we’ve gone backwards. Money spent and money wasted. What tangible and sustained success has BCFC achieved? None. I’d love to see the ****** sell up.
  10. I went for the midnight rant whilst laying in bed. ? You’ve added far more detail and context. All I saw last night - and not for the first time in recent seasons - was a group of players largely devoid of ability. Of ambition. Of energy. Of ideas. Epitomised for me by Captain Dan. I know what I’ll do says Dan to himself. I’ll do what I’ve done all night. What’s not worked but the next time it just might. I’ll kick it hard. With all my might. Perhaps this time we might win the first ball. And the second ball. Oh **** me. It’s coming straight back. Never mind. I’ll try it again. And again. After all if at first you don’t succeed…… Moments of pleasure? Tanner - looked good and “up for it”. HNM - some skilful touches when he came on. Baker - tidy for a fair bit of the game. Atkinson - potential. Wells - bit of vision. Scott - tidy at times. But Christ Alive. What a shambles. Good luck Nigel. Hope you’re making your own plans…..
  11. I’m not. Glad you brought it up. Captain Dan needs a rest. Not just because of that but also his consistent lumping it to a non-existent player who’s unable to either win the ball or hold it up. Now that might not be DB’s fault and it might be “team orders” but why oh why keep doing something when the outcome is the same. Straight back at you Dan.
  12. It made absolutely no ******* sense. What would have made sense would have been for Captain Dan to realise his constant lumping it down the middle wasn’t working and to have tried something different. But oh no. If at first you don’t succeed then just keep trying it. Again and again….. Christ if it didn’t work with Martin on the pitch it sure as hell wasn’t going to work with him off it…
  13. Spot on. And as it’s a Sunday. There are none so blind as those that cannot see. But hey the Messiah has done a lot of good. We’ve got a lovely stadium and The Killers are coming. Kerching. How’s Pat and his Bears doing…..
  14. Outstanding? Not quite. Made us look poor? We were poor. I guess we all see things differently but I’m still intrigued to know how long it took for us to be well and truly turned over from a throw in deep in Bournemouth’s half to Bentley picking the ball out of the back of the net. That had nothing to do with Bournemouth being outstanding or making us look poor. We we’re poor. Woefully poor. And I can’t see any sustained improvements happening anytime soon. Sadly.
  15. So was I. Had to get two dog chews from B&M. Highlight of my afternoon. Best value all afternoon. ?
  16. And that’s the point. We made it easy for them. Far too easy. Because we were poor. Very poor. And I’m still struggling to understand how they’ve progressed to the positions they’ve been in and are in whilst we’ve, at best, been left in their wake.
  17. How long did it take from Kallas wiping the ball with the towel to Bentley letting it pass through his flailing hands and pick it out the net? How many crosses did Bournemouth put to the far post before it worked and Lowe got on the end of one? Bournemouth were nothing exceptional. Even with parachute payments and their stellar signings. Simply we were woeful. Again. The over riding thing for me I guess is how Bournemouth have progressed as a football team over the past few decades, whilst we’ve gone backwards. Bet Lloyd thanks his lucky stars he made the move when he did.
  18. I’ve got 2 tickets up for grabs for the game tomorrow. In the South Stand. Front row. Donation to a Frome based cancer charity - We Hear You - this time. First to DM can have them.
  19. My point was that if they’d felt they had a realistic chance of playing in the PL with BCFC they’d might have been less tempted. 1 of the 3 went to another Championship club. He must have thought they were a better bet. Another of the 3 was within minutes of signing for another Championship club. He must have felt the same. And the other fancied a shot with Colin in Wales. That says it all for me. Under this regime we’re only going one way. And up it ain’t.
  20. Spot on Ivor. The pair of them are hapless and hopeless. Flint saw it. He left. Reid saw it. He left. Bryan saw it. He left. The 3 of them, with far more ITK insight than any of us have on here realised that their dreams would be better met elsewhere. And they left. Ok so we don’t know what those dreams might have been but I’m guessing one of them might well be Premier League football. Under LJ and SL that’ll all it will ever be. A ******* dream.
  21. **** it. I know I’ll get shot down. Not play off contenders. Automatic contenders. And before anyone asks. I believe it. And have always believed in LJ. Even as a player.
  22. Squalor Major. I live in squalor. And hope. Hope that my investment in 4 season tickets and love for all things Johnson and Lansdown is repaid. In buckets. Busy at Lulsgate. My Christ how it's changed. You can even buy SuperDry here now.
  23. In the bath reading this. Had to miss it as we're off to Geneva at 18.05. Shame. Anyway here's my new bathroom basin - quite apt
  24. SL isn't in the driving seat. He's got others to do that. He's the "mastermind" funding and benefiting from the misery of others. The misery he's created..... Anyway I'm hoping for a nice win. Just so it keeps a flicker of interest alive until Easter
