Sadly I’m not. Guessing that is. As I’ve alluded to before I heard it said. Primary interest in what was then a football club wasn’t about football. It was what Mr L could achieve from the football club. Nuanced perhaps, and possibly too subtle for many but I was in no doubt. It was nothing more than an investment opportunity.

@Robbored I will. Explain my hostility to him. Over promoted. Out of his depth. Out of touch. In short, like the Lansdown’s, he’s a ***. Little, if any truth in anything the 3 of them say. A legend for his performance at Anfield. A complete failure for his performance at Swansea. Yet the ****** is still here. Hostile? Me?

@Galley is our king I’d like to see all of that too. The thing is though - I think - that there’s as much chance of that as I’ve got of Jennifer Aniston being in my Christmas stocking in a week or so’s time If the ***** appointed a failed manager to become Technical Director they aren’t going to insist or accept his resignation. Equally the ***** aren’t going anywhere any time soon. Admission of failure, accountability and responsibility isn’t something these clowns recognise. Why? Because what they want they’ll get. They don’t give a flying **** about BCFC. If BCFC goes down they don’t care. They’ve got several revenue stream now, of which BCFC is simply one of them. Anyway. Results have been poor. It’s a results game. Performance counts for very little if you ain’t winning and putting points on the board. I see what he’s doing too. But the thing is we’ve not got the players to do that. And apart from a few odd matches or runs we’ve not had a good enough squad for many years. The thing that really ***** me off is how Lansdown has had us over. Time and time again. And many know now thoughts on his reason for his investment. He doesn’t give a flying **** about BCFC. Never has, never will. His dabbling has simply been about a business venture. An investment. Partly In freeholds, partly in a revenue stream. FWIW I was there when the ****** said - many years ago. And as for that *** Tinnion. He can join the Lansdown’s when the time comes. It’s not just Manning that’s out of his depth. The lot of them are.

So would I. But if it’s the “family” that I noticed - front row, sat on the end of the row, often waving at us - then I’d also question the adult/s that were with him. The one I presume to be the father was setting a fine example with some very odd behaviour of his own. If he is the father and that’s his son I’d suggest the lad finds another role model. Either way it’s pathetic and unnecessary. On all sides.

FWIW I think Tinnion is lying. The man who scored a beauty in the rain at Anfield to the buffoon who sat alone in the dug out in Swansea. Says it all. You’re right. It’s me. Steve and me have agreed to let bygones be bygones. I had to promise never to mention our other business meetings or saying nasty about him, Jon or Brian. He’s promised me all of the sale proceeds from the sale of the Two As and on that basis I was prepared to accept his very generous offer. Toby will be my assistant. Oh hang on. You meant A I. I’m not sure Coppell “bottled it”. I’d say he saw through it. Saw through the BS - not Bristol Sport - the bullshit. The Lansdown bullshit. Even then the ****** was dabbling in things beyond his remit. And so it continued. Until now. The sooner the Lansdowns have their return on their investment - as that was all it ever was - the better. Might well have an all singing all dancing stadium that’s fit for Take ******* That, but I don’t see any actual footballing success during his reign.

And me. The Ls are ******* useless. Only interest is self-******* interest. Why continue to employ some legendary ******* after the Swansea debacle? The *** would’ve soon shifted an HL fund manager out in similar circumstances. Yet Tinnion not only retains a position in BCFC but spouts bollocks on Twitter. Put me down for financial support

I’ve posted many times about my views for an individual’s motives for investing in what was once our club. I’ve been mocked by many each time I’ve done so. I’ve mulled over posting and drafted and redrafted a post many times. After the most recent debacle I think it’s time….. As the title says, I used to be a banker - cue for the nay sayers to change the B to a W…… In my time as a banker I met many of the great and good. I met Lords and Ladies, a Major or two, and many, many businesses - large and small. I also met others like me - similar bankers - who had met other actual and potential customers. One banker that I knew well had several meetings with someone who was touting his new business around the market. The conversation went along the lines of not being able to help - banks were sensitive to providing any sort of facility to football clubs then. Believe it or not banks felt they had a reputation to uphold then and if in the future they needed to withdraw support then they might suffer a reputational risk - imagine that! Anyway the offer from the successful businessman was politely declined. But as is often the way a conversation ensued. Largely about why said successful businessman was involved in a football club in the first place. The conversation was detailed and far reaching. It was suggested that the reason for his involvement was less about football, and as much about what could come from that. There was a plan. A plan that could provide a facility to group a number of similar, related activities under one roof. To develop that facility to extend beyond just sport. In doing so the investment would be de-risked. It wouldn’t be reliant upon just one source of fan or income. The plan also involved making sure that all aspects of that eventual entity would be under the control of just one man. Holding companies would be established and registered such that fan or public scrutiny would be almost impossible. There was even talk that other property would be acquired to further improve the successful businessman’s own personal position. That must’ve been the best part of 20 years ago. Some might say it’s bollocks and hearsay. Some might say that despite that the football club is in a better position now than it was then. Some might even say that they do feel proud - remember that? Making Bristol proud…… All successful businessmen have plans. Several of them. Just in case one doesn’t work out. Very few successful businessmen invest in a business without first knowing what their exit will be. Very few successful businessmen achieve great wealth simply from doing what they do. Great wealth is usually achieved through identifying your exit before you get your chequebook out. An acquisition or trade sale. Or private equity. Great wealth can also be achieved through the acquisition of property. As one wise man once said to me “they ain’t making any more”…… Meanwhile we are where we are. In the midst of another almighty shit show. Decisions are made that don’t seem to make sense or stand up to consistency or scrutiny. We lurch from one almighty mess to another. If it wasn’t so desperate, or if it was going on in Horfield, we’d all be laughing…….

I was there. Head in his hands indeed. And yet from that **** up to this. Common denominators? Steve and Brian. Both are *****. In any other role they’d be sacked for incompetence. I’d like to see the back of both of them.

Not we. Lansdown. He’s the one who as ultimate beneficial owner ultimately spunked the money up the wall. And to think he runs a business that manages pension funds……

I thought the 3 of them looked tidy. Kelly, Semenyo and Scott. All sold on for a profit. But **** me. To Bournemouth. ******* Bournemouth. You can see how far we’ve gone backwards when we’re selling to Bournemouth. And Brentford. Not so long ago well below us. And Brighton. Who remembers the story about the Brighton chairman driving up from the south coast to give his support to Steve’s grand Ashton Vale dream? Sold for a profit. Did Steve reinvest? Or take a dividend? How far we’ve come. In Lansdown we trust

Brian Tinnion. Awesome at Anfield. Shit at Swansea. Twas at both of them. Sadly another over-promoted, hanger on who really should be somewhere else. Is it me or whenever I see him he doesn’t look his best? Sad thing is I suspect that until the Lansdowns **** off Good Old Brian’s feet are firmly under the table. I think I might tell my Steve Lansdown’s Emperor’s New Clothes story tonight. That might - just might - make the nay sayers think differently…….

He never wanted it in the first place. Football success for the sake of Bristol City. He’s got exactly what he wanted and what he set out to get. A diversified income stream to add to his portfolio of business interests. Diversify and de risk his investment further - football, rugby, basketball, concerts. Cram the freeholds with as many franchises as he could. Max out on season tickets - many of whom will shell out at those franchises. Many will buy shirts and tat from the club shop. And the icing on the cake? Freeholds in BS3, including Ashton Vale. It was a disaster in the making from Day One. An absolute farce. And yet some still say Steve is a good ‘un…….

Quite. Another messiah. I’d get rid of him too. Kept on for what? Being able to flick the ball up with his Adidas boots on into a net bag? Needs a full shake up. Top to bottom. Anyone see the Silver on MOTD? Sold? For what? Oh yes. Many will say FFP and to balance the books of previous overspending and wasted cash. Thank **** Lansdown isn’t managing my pension funds…..

@Davefevs as Mr Glitter once said it’s good to be back. Or was that a Gallagher? Either way I couldn’t stand by and not repeat what I’ve said before - and been laughed at. The Lansdowns have ruined Bristol City. He only had one thing on his mind. Making more money to fly off with to his Channel Island haven. Or spend on ******* elephants. Oh for the good old days. When Ashton Gate was just a football stadium, and when the only extras were Billy Graham and the Rolling Stones…..

Lansdown has been wearing Emperor’s clothes since he rode in on his Trojan Horse. He had no intention of buying Ashton Vale for BCFC or anything other than getting a resi consent. And some laughed out loud when I called it out……
