Could do with a player like Bell again. What I'd give for the excitement of seeing Murray running onto a perfect tinnion through ball again. To hear all the wooden seats go up in the Dolman one more time.
God I miss the old stadium before it became a characterless clone of every other ground in the UK!

Where are the droves of doubters now who trashed Massengo. Couldn’t see his class early doors if it jumped up and bit them on the ass
People said he wasn't ready for the team and they were right. 3 years later and he has had 2 good games.

If we had the season we are currently and played like this every week itd be okay.

Putting this out here as it's semi on topic, I'm thinking of starting a blog soon. I created a separate Instagram to log my running and training progress and slowly building some following on that after not really being fussed about followers at first.
I feel I've got a decent amount of knowledge from my own hours of research of different nutrition trends, training protocols and also experience of challenges I've undertaken and things I'll look to take on in the future. My "niche" or selling point really is trying to be a one-stop shop for people new to training. The site I wished I'd found when I was getting started that could teach me the different options for training, where to go to get involved and sign-posting to specific sites/articles etc for more "scientific" explanations (ie people actually qualified in that field as opposed to my opinions and experience)
Firstly anyone here done anything similar?
Secondly, anyone willing to share in here or over DM any questions they've had in the past and struggled to find clear no-BS answers to? Or things they'd be interested in knowing more about that I can take away as article ideas?
Will keep the handles and site out of the post as not sure on the rules of self-promotion but happy to share if anyone is interested. I'll be honest my Instagram isn't all that interesting at the moment, I need to get over the mental block of not wanting to look like silly taking photos/videos during runs at the minute my "USP" is that I run a lot longer distances compared to most of the people on my facebook!
Great resources for me have been the pfitzinger marathon plans, daniels running formula. Great guidance on structuring of your season, importance of training in correct training zones, hr training, nutrition etc
While track seasons on hold, turned my focus to running a sub 16 5k in the new year. Some cracking posts and discussions on LetsRun forum that have helped a lot in planning my season out.
Another great resource of use would be the serpentine running forum. Some great posts covering all range of subjects.
Finally, the Macmillan race and training pace calculator is another great free resource for all athletes. You can put current race times and goal paces to calculate your training zones and paces for each session.

Recently joined the strava group, and nice to see a chat that hasnt descended into chaos after Sunday's poor showing.
Are there many club runners on here? Joined Bristol and West myself about a year ago when I moved down from Manchester, have also been along a couple times to the southville group a couple times

It’s only really Chris S doing events - some at Whitchurch and the odd one in Dolman. Crying out for that Basketball arena at AG to get a few bigger fights - mind you we need some more local boxers to step up too!
Ah that's a shame. Would be class if they started doing some of the smaller matchroom shows here when the arena is complete. I'll keep an eye out for Dolman shows, cheers.
Recall seeing MTK taking a show to Bournemouth so no reason why couldn't do one in Bristol.

Anyone know of any shows coming up in Bristol worth going to? Try to make it to 2 or 3 of the bigger shows a year across the UK, but haven't heard of any hearn or warren shows in this area.
I used to sell tickets for a local promoter in liverpool in return for free ring side tickets for me and my pals so happy to attend small hall shows too.
Not been in the city long, and dont box any more so dont hear about local shows through gyms.
Any advise? I dont even know what venues may host events?

Anyone reading much into the fury illness? I know rumours appear before every big fight but the recent ifl interview where we had to go inside because of the cold, the excessive layers and obvious coldsore at the last one, then Hearn claiming he now favours Wilder after the camp rumours he has heard?

Anyone tuning in for golovkin derevyanchenko?

Yeah, I don't disagree with you.
In fairness though, if you're going to get the same money from ESPN if you fight Wallin or someone like Pulev while tuning up for a major fight in a few months, I think his choice is understandable.
This is true. Do find it hard to believe ESPN are happy with their value for money though. May be completely wrong here but wasnt it something like an 80 million 5 fight deal he signed? Would expect better quality opposition for 16 million a fight if I was ESPN. If wilder loses to Ortiz (unlikely) then what fight does he make next?

Bit harsh on Tyson though mate, you can't begrudge him making a few quid before the Wilder rematch surely?!
I mean I can see why he wants to take a couple easier fights and fair play for taking on wilder. I do feel like he won the wilder fight though, and potentially made a good case for him being the best guy in the division, but then to follow that with Schwartz and Wallin is poor IMO. It's ultimately an entertainment business and there are so many exciting fights he could make that I don't think we will ever see.
This is also a guy who criticises everyone else's opponents. He has potential for HOF status if he fought all the top current and prospects in division but don't see that happening.

Anyone picking hughie to beat Povetkin?
Can't see him wanting to trade with Sasha after running from pulev, a much lesser puncher. Think there could be boos by round 5 when very little happening imo but hope I'm wrong.
Got to give credit to HF though. Certainly showing more balls than cousin Tyson at the moment. Just wish he wouldnt spend the night running. Schwartz and Wallin hardly entertaining from the so called 'lineal champ' though

I admire your optimism! I can't share it unfortunately given he's only had 2/3 even semi live opponents up until now in 41 fights. The WBC and Haymon seem absolutely determined to keep a portion of the hw crown in the USA, come what may. After Kownacki I'm sure Uncle Al can line up a few more tomato cans prior to a cash out around 2022.
If I was Whyte I'd be taking the WBC to court.
Edit, the fight after Kownacki will obviously be the Ortiz triology haha.
This is what worries me. If Kownacki goes over 3 rounds perhaps the rematch will be made!
I do actually think, the division could be thriving over the next few years with Usyk, Hrgovic, Ajagba etc coming through. With Wilder ducking left right and centre and AJ unwilling to release any of the remaining belts I just hope a few more fighters take the Whyte approach and take the bigger fights for the money if nothing else. I dread the situation where all these fighters make top 15 then fight bums remaining active until world title shot but happens all to frequently.

******* disgusting. Just shows what a tin hearted cowardly piece of shit Wilder is. He's terrified of Whyte let alone AJ.
Fighting a geriatric with a heart condition who he's already beaten rather than someone with a pulse haha. It'll be Kownacki next too, guaranteed.
The WBC are just shills for a criminal racket.
I'm assuming you're correct and he will indeed head for Kownacki after, as he indicated prior to the Breazeale fight
However, beyond the Kownacki fight though I feel he will eventually have to take a decent challenge and fight a live opponent. By this time the top 10/15 will hopefully be such that he is forced to either fight Fury/Whyte/Riaz as a WBC defence or one of Usyk, Joshua, Hrgovic, Joyce, Hunter, Pulev, Ajagba or I'd even settle for Parker or winner of Gorman/Dubois - although this will likely be too early for either of these. There are no real other legit contenders at the moment from the USA that he could justify fighting and he cannot surely take any non US fighter with a rep or ranking below those listed can he?
What route do people think he will go beyond Kownacki?

As much as I'd love to sign Abraham I think it's as likely as getting Danny Ings and Calum Chambers on loan.
Except for they're at Liverpool and arsenal respectively while Abraham is playing for Bristol city today
The Pearson effect - is it happening?

Statistically if we lose our next game our ppg will be 1.16 so basically exactly the same. Its sadly a much too small sample size to make much of a comparison or draw any meaningful conclusions.
