  1. BBC News - Karl Wallinger: Whole of the Moon artist dies aged 66 https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-68540877 Ship Of Fools is one of my favourite tracks of all time. What an album as well.
  2. This is the greatest pub! The Dove.... The Falcon in the centre is great for food.
  3. Where Eagles Dare, The Blues Brothers (extended version), The Princess Bride, Live And Let Die, Some Like It Hot, This Is Spinal Tap, The Jungle Book (Walt Disney's animated version).
  4. Springsteen also managed a 3 year old horse in the Derby called Jason Bourne. Bruce didn't know whether to let the horse take part. He told the jockey by telegram on the morning of the Derby. It simply said, 'Jason To Race.'
  5. And coming soon to the list....Kenilworth Road - Luton Town. A brand new stadium.
  6. Posted on other thread in General Chat. Nooooo! It is right to use the word legend for Stan. How true is it that when he broke his leg playing us at AG, the St John's Ambulance took him off, they then left him in the car park? Myth or fact?
  7. Nooooo! Rightly so to use the word legend. How true is it that when he broke his leg playing us at AG, the St John's Ambulance carried him off on a stretcher and then left him in the car park?
  8. Top marks for throwing in "I say". John Savident was always good in Corrie when I used to watch it. He is also in Battle Of Britain as an RAF officer speaking to Larry Olivier.
  9. Nigel Pearson? This could get very confusing.
  10. Thanks Spudski. The Admiral doc was very good. ITV I think made it. The kit for Spain 82 was problematic. A seamstress flew out with her sewing machine to finish off the kits, the night before the game. That's why in the line-up, players badges were in different places!
  11. Why were there 2 different shirts being worn that day? Maybe Alan Dicks in his pre- match team talk said to the players individually,"V or round neck sir?"
  12. If your rant was based on an innings, it was more of a night watchman effort! I'm sure you could do better Slarti!
  13. I thought JR was good. My background is in radio as a few on here know. His links were witty and engaging as well. I listened from 2pm until the final whistle. He knows the area and the banter after the Southampton game regarding Taylor Gardiner Haskins is what local radio is all about. A presenter from outside the area wouldn't have engaged with the caller who initially called him that and for Mark Tovey to embellish it. Personally, I think we should be more down wiv the kids and call our ex Derby player Taylor Swift Gardiner Haskins.
  14. Using a rich woman as a wedding gift and for political purposes.... an outrage!
  15. BBC News - Steve Wright: Radio 2 presenter dies aged 69 https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-68287707
  16. Do I count having just landed on the Norn Iron flight for tomorrow's game? For me, Birthday and Christmas presents are flights to watch BCFC. This will be my 75th league grounds with BCFC. Unfortunately, it is not quite 50 if you count current grounds and not their old venue. To catch up with mates and watch BCFC is my buzz. It'll be my second game this season having seen the Stoke game at the Gate. I'm also flying over for the Ipswich game so that'll be my 76th ground. If we get to the promised land, then 92 is achievable. Unfortunately, most of my grounds were from the 80s onwards when we were dire but the fun going to those grounds and nearby pubs was great.
  17. BBC News - Barry John: Legendary Wales and Lions fly-half dies aged 79 https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/68170605
  18. We supported The Vice Squad in their early days.
  19. And taking the headline literally is interesting for me. I'm flying over for the Middlesbrough game from Belfast!
  20. She was on Jools Holland's show only a couple of years ago. They didn't talk about her cover of the Wurzels No 1 hit song (which was 'written' by an Irish comedian).
