  1. And the best game I ever saw Joe play for us was as a makeshift centre-half at Notts Forest. His heading was exemplary. Never mind his 4 goal debut (I was there) but Joe should've been converted into a full time centre back.
  2. Dave, I'm sure that when we signed Joe Royle, Alan Dicks said that a striker hits his prime when 29. That means he only had 12 months before the yard!
  3. Downsy has just very kindly replied to my email I sent him on Saturday just after ko. Here's his reply.... I can’t remember why, but we weren’t providing Radio Bristol on the audio feed for the Fulham game, so you guys got the Robins TV output instead. Hope it didn’t spoil it too much for you.
  4. And so many great puns. London School of Econgnomics being the best!
  5. Yep. I did say that! Your memory is great apart from somehow thinking I was there.....if only! They sang Ouch! amongst other songs.
  6. Phil, I know Wikipedia isn't 100% accurate but both Rutle entries (album and film) state that Neil and Ollie sang the lead vocals. Not Eric who mimed. Very interested to have a link to prove otherwise!
  7. Phew! I'm so glad I put 'allegedly' in my original post. I was in a rush me lud! The song in question is Heroes. The lovers were Tony Visconti and his girlfriend at the time who was definitely not Julie Christie. However, Julie was mentioned in Waterloo Sunset by The Kinks....allegedly (!)
  8. Superb Phil! I knew most but not all of the above. Never knew about the Russian folk song links! And of course Mary married Tony Visconti who gets mentioned having a kiss with Julie Christie allegedly in a famous David Bowie song!
  9. Knock, Knock. Who's There? Sorry, couldn't resist. And just to be even more pedantic it was Mary Hopkin. She was singular!
  10. As above. Remember that it's a 12.30 ko.
  11. Never been an issue before and I've been subscribing since the service commenced. Toby or whatever the commentator's name is, needs to realise we aren't watching his video feed. He needs to fill in the gaps and tell not show.
  12. BCFC will never learn. When it was managed by PremiumTV we could choose other matches to listen to throughout the week. Their service wasn't great but with bcfc deciding to go it alone, not only do we lose the choice of other matches but we have to suffer a poorer product. If anyone from BCFC is reading this thread, stop treating us as second class customers. Admit you've got it wrong by going it alone and go back to Premium TV (or whatever it's called now).
  13. At last! Just received this response. Thank you for your patience. Your partial refund has now been issued. Please allow 5-7 working days for it to reach your account. If you have any other questions, please reply to this email and I’ll be happy to help.
  14. Thanks. I've written three times already today. Still no response. I must be on their black list.
  15. What email address did you use to get this reply? And Rob Edwards is playing for us as well!
  16.. You've obviously taken out a year's sub with Fulham version! Phase development coach!
  17. Don't forget you have to complain during the game to Bristolcitytvsupport@streamamg.com in order to get a refund!
  18. Commentating for tv is a different skill to describing the game on audio only. If only bcfc had made a statement as to why we're getting the tv feed. All we've been told by the commentator is that all those listening around the world are on Robins TV today! .
  19. Despite me emailing Bristolcitytvsupport@streamamg.com at 2.40pm requesting Radio Bristol feed (as per our annual contract) we are still having to endure the tv version at 3.17pm after kick off. I got the usual response that they are extremely busy etc.. in desperation I have even emailed downsy! We have to email during the match, yet again.
  20. Anyone get a refund or even a reply? I received neither. And now at 2.40pm on Fulham away matchday we're getting RobinsTV on audio version instead of Radio Brizz. Pathetic.
  21. If you're into classic bands that are still going but no longer on mainstream labels then Burning Shed is the shopping website for you (XTC reissues for example). Only yesterday I received their weekly newsletter and guess what?
  22. The 2005 re-issue is stunning. All instruments were re-recorded using latest state of the art mics, digital desks etc. It was then mixed in 5.1 surround sound. Stunning. My son is studying music including composition at uni. I got him last month to watch this YouTube review of the album by a classical composer. An excellent watch as far as I'm concerned. My son has never liked the album (he's had to hear it many a time) but did concede on the well made observations. Here it is. Well worth a look.
