Great interview. Obviously the usual suspects won't agree.

I didn’t think it was great but it was different to the usual coaching soundbites that he’s been coming out with. He also looked and sounded much more relaxed that usual.

That might be because City are on a decent run and only two games away from the end of the season.

  2. Wonderful City. It’s my favourite.

Been there many many times and usually stay just off La Ramblas. There is sooo much to see - a short stay just whets your appetite for more which is exactly what happened to us!

One major issue that every tourist needs to be aware of is pickpockets. I had my wallet taken just as we got into tube as the doors shut. The bastards were dressed like Ninja’s and mid European at a guess.

Send a PM if you want more info about Barca.

    Williams possibly, Conway no chance.

I’d much prefer Williams to stay, not too bothered about Conway who too many posters have an inflated opinion regarding his ability. To me he’s bang average and certainly wouldn’t get into any of the top Championship clubs teams.

I wouldn’t be the slightest concerned if he moves on.

I really think he has talent, but whether bad attitude , laziness or just a bit of a Billy Big Suds he does seem to have to move on a lot. You kind of hope that one time would be a wake up call and he'd make the most of his talent.
    Maybe next time.

Unfortunately players with the ‘Billy big bollocks’ syndrome rarely see the error of their ways as they slip down the leagues. Idehen apparently has a very similar syndrome.

For them just being a professional footballer gives them kudos in their social circle and that’s enough for them.

It seems on here being a loyal City fan is very much ridiculed

Finally, currently I feel happy with the club than I have for a few years, including the Pearson reign, I did find him oppressive and not at all engaging, and this I am sure is why he was sacked, by us and others.

Ridiculed by whom?…..we’re all City fans - like an unrelated family in some ways.

As for Nige - the reason for his sacking has been done to death because the ‘reasoning’ dished out by the hierarchy at AG was about as close to lily livered as anyone can get.

We all have our suspicions and although I can’t speak for everyone the overall consensus seems to be that Nige was too outspoken and pissed off the higher ups.

He’s gone and most of the fanbase are trying to get behind Manning.

  7. Overall I actually don’t have that big a problem with the current state of the football industry. However…two things…..I see tv money as a positive but the distribution of it is completely unfair to clubs lower down the leagues. The PL clubs should allow their tv income to trickle down to L1 and 2 far more generously.

Plus…..VaR……whilst it’s intention is to remove officials errors from the game it’s got to the point where it takes soooooo bloody long to reach a decision and they still don’t get it right every time. Take Coventry’s disallowed ‘goal’ in the 120min of extra time - even with the VaR lines it was impossible to tell. What ever happened to benefit of the doubt?’

If/when City reach the PL we’ll have to put up with every goal being analysed and that in itself stifles the joy and excitement of seeing your team scoring a goal.

The challenge for the head coach is to pick a style (identity etc), and to make it work with all the limitations that our players have.

I genuinely think that quality in the final third has been letting us down for years; ever since Andi Weimann decided he was going to be Andriy Shevchenko for a year.

First sentence - I assume that’s what Manning has been trying to do and largely why he’s repeatedly going on about ‘time on the grass’. It appears that he’s frustrated by the relentless nature of the Championship - welcome to a higher level of football Liam.

Second highlighted sentence - many of us have been saying exactly that particularly since Manning was appointed. The absence of Chris Wood type CF has been obvious but according to BT that type of player is top of the summer shopping list and already identified.

Obviously this summer’s business is when Manning can try to recruit the type of player he wants and offload those he thinks are surplus to requirements and then have a full preseason to work with next season’s squad before the next campaign gets underway.

After 10 or so games in we’ll have an idea of what his methods and style of play have developed into………:dunno:

What would be really embarrassing if we’d agreed a clause saying he had to be in the squad or we’d be penalised financially, then also agreed a clause saying we’d have to make the deal permanent if he was in more than 10 squads….

    Hmmm……a conspiracy theory……………..:cool2:

Atleast he sits on the bench because if I knew I wasn’t go to play I wouldn’t be turning up, at least he must have some sort of a good attitude

You might get away with that attitude if you were playing in a pub league. These guys are professionals and turn up for work regardless.

I'm a bit gutted as I was supposed to have been there Friday but work dictated I cancelled my leave

Couldn't make any of the other days.

Been a promising start to the season but Notts will be whipping boys this season, let's push on and get that elusive first title

Roughly 5 years ago a couple of mates and I took a guided tour around Lords, including seeing the Ashes Urn. The long room, changing rooms et el. The guide, an older chap, picking up our accents was mildly amused when we told him that we’re from Somerset.

‘good one day side’ he said ‘but they’ll never win the title. The pitches at Taunton are too tame and the powers that be don’t want a rustic County to ever win it’

That was alarming to hear. None of us were quite sure what he meant but he didn’t elaborate.

Like every Somerset supporter we all want the title but I wonder if it’ll ever happen.

Totally pointless, but I presume that either we felt he was a better option than Academy players or there was some contractual obligation to include him, even though it was very obvious he was never coming on.

I know I got a few facepalm reactions at the time but I saw enough against QPR to know he was just miles adrift of what we were after & I’d have stopped bothering with him straight after that.

He’s had very little game time Graham and yet you and others slag him off as useless…….….:dunno:

Before any educated opinions are formed we need to see any player at least half a dozen times and as yet Medube has actually played far less than that.

I amazes me how quick some posters are to dismiss a player that they’ve hardly seen……….:disapointed2se:

Are you suggesting they should probably have jackets on as well..? Might be a few chilly breezes inside the Molineux?

Constant moving/running generates body warmth. Anyone that’s played sport or goes running regularly will know that. Doesn’t keep your hands warm tho.

I'm not always fussed about the PL, but on this beautiful spring day in April I find myself watching Wolves v Arsenal to find 3 Wolves outfield players (Gomez, Traore and amazingly Doherty) wearing gloves!!!

It’s pretty chilly when the sun goes down - currently it’s 7*c in Nailsea. If I was going out I’d have my hands in my jacket pockets.

  15. He’s definitely been showing the form of why City signed him.  Hamstring injuries restricted his game time last season otherwise we’d have appreciated sooner what a class Championship midfielder he is. When he signed he came with a decent reputation and now we know why.

He’s become an essential part on the midfield and Manning/Tinnion should do all they can to offer him another contract - 2+1 surely must be doable..Of course Williams might not want to stay in which case he’d be very difficult to replace.
