They have money now and if they use it wisely I can see them doing really well. That said they have a shitty stadium and cabbage patch pitch so attracting better players will be difficult - just as its not so simple attracting players to us despite having money and a decent pitch and a redeveloped Ashton Gate. its the fact that Bristol is seen in the football world as backwater and some players don't want to come here because of it.

Sadly my mate, Graham, a Gashead passed away fairly recently so had the Rovers not made automatic promotion I'm sure there would not have been a similar situation of me doing a mate a favour......

You're right - I don't get it at all. I really don't see the skill or "entertainment" in watching two blokes whack each other for a set number of rounds or until one loses consciousness.

I've never really understood boxing. I just don't grasp the idea of punching another bloke and getting whacked back. What is the point?

Thomas was resigned by Perth Scorchers last winter and they won the BBL. He wasn't signed for his batting..... But...you're right. He hasn't been quite so effective in T20 this summer. He's no spring chicken either so maybe the wear and tear on his body are catching up with him. Fast bowling is a gruelling business. Lots of them retire earlier than Thomas with injuries. Harris the Aussie seamer has just retired with a long standing knee injury.

I read somewhere that Craig Overton can bowl at 90mph. That's pretty damn quick and around the same pace as Wood. Imagine Those two as third and fourth seamers against the Aussies. They'd both be quicker than the opening bowlers Anderson and Broad. That said as Richie Benaud once said when Devon Malcolm was spraying the ball around "there more to fast bowling than just pace"
