Sport, particularly football is a massive platform and it’s inevitable that the odd player/coach will take the opportunity to make some kind of political statement. The powers that be should take every possible step to keep sport and politics separate. However there is no easy solution.

Matt Hewlett blatantly handled the ball as well but the ref didn’t see it - it certainly was the most one-sided 1-1 draw. City dodged a bullet there.

Not so sure about that Dave - Dodds is/was rightly pissed right off with his team’s performance against Blackburn and has made it perfectly clear to them what his views are. The players know how disappointing their performance was and were expecting such a response from the head coach and that’s what they got - whether his way of dealing with such an embarrassing loss was the right approach we’ll find out tomorrow. Had I been one of those players I’d have known how crap we were as a team but would have given at least some credit to the opposition who took advantage of us - that’s something Dodds didn’t mention. I mean how good were Blackburn? If City can bag an early goal tomorrow then that’ll hopefully have a negative effect on them and they crumble again.

I have Phants and Owlstalk is one of if the worst for negativity. They could complain and whinge at international level. Much of their moans are because of where they are in the Championship having only just returned having spent a season in L1. Otib would be exactly the same if City were in the same position as the Owls.

Football fans regardless of which club they support are all fundamentally the same. Any fan reading otib would see how similar it is to their own,

James and Wells is are experienced players and guys like him are crucial in any team, even more so when some of the academy graduates are becoming involved in the first team squad. Their knowledge is a tremendous asset to the younger players. For example, Wells has taken Conway under his wing and the two of them have become good mates and personally I’d like to see them both start as a front two - not sure that’ll happen under Manning tho. I to would like James to stay at City, a possible two year contract would seem doable.

Liverpool only moved up a gear when the Blades equalised. The McAllister strike was a terrific, curled perfectly into the top corner.

Apparently Price is popular amongst the other PL players. They all get along pretty well which is essential given that see each other every week.

It was an American Dr Aaron Beck who developed CBT in the 1950/60s to its current level and usage. There’s an interesting YouTube ‘The historical roots of CBT’ if anyone’s interested.

From memory CLT is in simple terms is amount of information an active memory can process in a given time. It’s particularly helpful in avoiding overloading someone who might struggle to retain info. iirc there were/are three different types of CLT but I can’t recall what they are……… In my former profession I often adopted a CBT approach which was extremely helpful particularly with those who had a history of anxiety and depression. Essentially I/we were trying to encourage them that by using CBT on themselves they could cope far more comfortably in their day to day lives.

Definitely not at the same time! One of his girlfriends ditched him and within a couple of days my girlfriend dumped me. Then I start seeing his previous girlfriend and he started seeing the one who ditched me! Things like that happened fairly regularly when you’re a teenager.

We must be of the same generation RP - I’m a 1950’s man and have experienced pretty much the same as you and share your sentiments. My best friend from school passed away a couple of years ago, only a month older than me. We played in the same football and cricket team and did pretty much everything together even sharing our girlfriends! It was his dad that first drove us to AG in 1967 - that really is a real perspective on life.

That’s my interpretation as why players get booked for removing their shirt after scoring - that doesn’t mean that my interpretation is right tho, I’m not a qualified referee. If there are qualified refs on here maybe they’d know……….

It’s been done to death RRC particularly when he was sacked and LJ was appointed. SL was at the Senior Reds Xmas lunch and it was very clear that SC’s days we’re about to end.

I certainly don’t hate the Lansdowns SL in particular has used many millions of his own money to keep the club afloat, redeveloped AG, developed the HPC with plans to turn the BS3 district into a sporting quarter.None of that would have happened without SL. The issue for me is that I get frustrated with Jon Lansdown in particular who’s profile has risen since his dad has virtuality retired - SL is 70 so deserves to put his feet up.

That’s been done to death Jaws - there were very valid reasons why Cotts was denied funds. Forget it and move on.

Just as importantly Manning will have an entire preseason to work with the remaining players along with any new signings to work with and coach his methods - not having ‘time on the grass’ is something he’s consistently whinged about since he took over.. Come next season he’ll have no excuses.
