  1. I remember 40 odd years ago the Western Daily Press and the Evening Post spelling was shocking, not just sport but right through the entire paper. No proof reading taking place then.
  2. Been saying it for months. BIG mistake.
  3. Very good read that. felt sorry for him being on the end of that own goal but he has bounced back well and is showing a lot of strength mentally and physically. At 22 he's just at the right age to kick on and go from strength to strength. I was well impressed with him on Saturday.
  4. I took a good mate with me on Saturday. He had never been to Ashton Gate before and was not a City fan. He is now. He was raving about the place and saying things like Prem Club ready. What an atmosphere. Brilliant match day experience. I know who I would rather believe. Certainly not the opening poster.
  5. Taylor Moore was immense at the back IMO. He had loads of encouragement from Ashley Williams and is going to be one hell of a player. Baker getting injured again isn't so much of a problem other than the fact that he keeps getting injured. On a side note when Fammy came on I noticed a definite improvement in his overall game {first touch etc.) very encouraging.
  6. Me too. Can't understand that one myself. Been bugging me ever since he left.
  7. There was a comment made at on TV by one of the commentators that Fammy just didn't control the ball, I think it might have been against Middlesbrough or Birmingham. It was quite a pointed statement I thought at the time.
  8. Was just about to say similar. All he needs is a goal and I'm sure his confidence will rocket when that happens. He and we just need a bit of patience with him and I'm sure we will be rewarded. As for Fammy I like him and I'm sure he is trying to work hard at his game, (first touch etc) I remember Cheesley getting some stick when he came to us from Norwich and he came good. Glad he is scoring vital goals though. Between the two ? Semenyo needs a chance for that goal spark and I would just about go for him. Difficult one really but with Afobe coming back in they will probably be benched an
  9. Yes DaSilva too. When Flinty went I was starting to panic but I can say that we are stronger at the back now and can only get better. Anyway the team has changed hell of a lot in the last two/three years and I've got a lot of catching up to do. What a game to come back to.
  10. So looking forward to the Swansea game and watching all the new guys in the team. Not been able to get down to the Gate due to a long drawn out illness . Will be in the Heineken lounge with the prawn sandwich brigade as a treat for me and my two boys. Massengo, Nagy, Williams all look an upgrade to the team can't wait. Shame Kalas got unjured. COYR.
  11. Me too. Would never ever be able to replace the only club I've (1964 to present day) supported but as FG are just up the road from me and I remember when they were in the Stroud League then that's the only alternative for me. Golf ? I'll stick to taking the dog for a walk.
  12. They've got a Johnson. Happy bunch aren't they.
  13. I'm glad we got Benik but I am wishing that we had kept hold of Mo Eisa a well. As for Nketia he decided not to come here so I don't care.
  14. I bet that Southend fans are drooling over his performances with us and wishing he was back with them.
  15. And the bottom two I feel really sorry or right now.
  16. I think it's very relevant. How he has progressed etc and the level he is trying to get to. Southend fans had one of our players and I think that we should all be interested in what they thought of him.
  17. Good news. Hope he kicks on with us. What did Southend fans think of him ? Anybody got any links to them and their comments on how he performed when he was on loan to them ?
  18. Good to see Taylor get a mention. I hope he doesn't end up being the forgotten man. I would like to see how he pairs up front with Afobe.
  19. Any fees involved for Rowe and Gilmartin ?. Prob mentioned somewhere but I'm missing it.
  20. Tony Book didn't turn out too bad did he.
  21. I can see Nicky Maynard scoring the winner against FGR
  22. Well said. I like joining in but not with **** language. I remember going to West Brom v Liverpool years ago and standing at one end of the ground with the Liverpool fans. The singing from Liverpool fans was unbelievably good and the banter was so very funny and not a swear word to be heared. It was worth the entrance money just to listen to it. Dalglish, Ray Kennedy etc were amazing that day. I guess the result helped the Liverpool fans in the singing as well. 5 - 0 to them that day. A day I will never forget.
  23. Always did try to screw us and other's on the cheap.
  24. You're not supposed to have fun at your age Woodsy.
